Anatomy And Physiology That Affect Snakes
Snakes tend to differ significantly from other terrestrial vertebrates due to their lack of any
appendages. Although such a characteristic would appear to be of a significant disadvantage on land,
snakes have managed to secure themselves a variety of niches and adaptations. The elongated body
gave many snakes the ability to strangle their prey and easily inhabit aquatic and nonaquatic
environments alike. Some snakes have also been able to climb trees and managed to out speed or
compete with animals with limbs. The specific locomotion of snakes can thus be a potentially
important indicator of ecological differences between species [7]. Understanding the ways that snakes
move helps us understand the types of factors responsible for their form, while giving insight into
inventing machines and instruments that can use this motion for everyday use. This paper will look at
the specifics and varieties of snake locomotion, while touching on some of the factors like anatomy
and physiology that affect snakes survival. Understanding the origins of snakes and their iconic
locomotion have been previously poorly understood [1]. Accurate conclusions about the development
of the snakes elongated, legless shape [were] hindered by the relative lack of informative fossils of
early stem snakes [1]. Despite this, questions concerning the origin of their anatomy are usually
narrowed down to two different environmental influences: either 1) aquatic life or 2) fossorial life.

An Allegory In George Orwell s Animal Farm
An allegory is a story or poem that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden message, typically involving
politics. A great example of an allegory is George Orwell s, Animal Farm. When just looking at this
story, one would think it was just about animals that ran off their owners and then formed their own
lifestyle with an animal leader. On the contrary, if one was to pay attention to the story they would
notice that it is pointing the reader to a time in history. Orwell wrote the story around 1944 in
reference to the Russian Revolution and to slander the Soviet Union. Throughout the novella, the
reader is introduced to the vital characters and is able to connect them to men in history. For example,
Old Major the pig was a symbol of Karl Marx. One can see this through the personality and Old Major
and also through him telling of his dream. In the beginning of the novel, Major has a dream where all
animals were equal. He told the other animals that they did not have to have short lives that were
dominated by labor and hunger for the human s sake. Old Major asked during the giving of his dream
if it was not crystal clear, comrades, that all the evils of this life of ours spring from the tyranny of
human beings? The dream was used to shadow Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto where Marx
presented the evils of feudalism, capitalism, and the ideal world of communism to inspire the Russian
Revolution. Marx believed that everything in the worlds history could be explained in result of

Black rock, Nick Enright Essay
Today I ll be talking about the play Blackrock that I ve been studying in class this term, the purpose of
this speech is to make us think how Australian drama challenges us to think about Australian culture
and identity, and the impacts it can have on us as person and as a community.
Guys stick up for their mates no matter what
Blackrock is a play written by Nick Enright that provides insight into Australian culture. Through the
violent rape of a teenage girl, the audience is challenged to consider the values and attitudes still
prevalent in Australia today. Enright uses authentic and raw Australian characters to reveal inherent
patriarchal attitudes towards women and the problems with a society that promotes sexual double ...

The boy s in Blackrock often partake in risk taking behaviour in order to gain respect within their
group and this can lead to a detrimental gang mentality. In the third scene Jared reveals to his friend
Rachel why he is so loyal to his good friend Ricko. He s been my mate since forever... he says, with
the use of emotive dialogue and colloquial language. The authenticity conveyed through the emotive
and colloquial language shows the seemingly positive impact that Ricko has had on Jared. After his
Dad split he didn t have a male role model and was what he called a total fuck up or someone to guide
him in the hyper masculine world. He found security in Ricko and in return Jared defends Ricko at all
costs, this shows the encouraging aspects of mateship, where boys can find sense of belonging in their
friendships. However, Jared s idealisation of Ricko blinds him to the realities of his aggressive
personality.
The impact of mateship and how easy it is for somebody to be pressured into doing something just to
fit in is highlighted in scene six. Ricko forces a boy named Toby who has only recently been fixated
into the group into performing the ring of fire as the other Blackrock boys cheer him on. You re the
barbeque, mate. It is shown as a type of initiation for the Blackrock boys; Toby

Today most Multi National Companies that are operating globally are realizing that they have to take
complete control of After Sales Service, in order to compete effectively and synergize their operations
with profitability. Earlier days, much of the service operations were handled by third parties.
Companies have identified that after salesservice is a significant source of revenue for the

Evolution And Evolution Of Evolution
What is the theory of evolution? Many people who don t understand science or Biology
don t know how to answer this question. Evolution is the process of biological change by which
descendants come to differ from their ancestors. In our society today, there is many conflicts
that exist between creationism which is the belief that a higher power created the Earth and
made living things and the theory of evolution. Some people are debating whether to teach
evolution in schools because the subject is very touchy to others. In other areas of the world,
there is wars against religion and evolution. I am on both sides. I don t really care about either
because they both sound pretty good to me. Evolution makes sense to me. I like the history of
evolution. It s so cool to see how different species have evolved throughout time.
#1) Chapter 10.1 10.5, p. 280 301 (Early Scientist s observations, Darwin s
Observations, Theory of Natural Selection, Evidence of Evolution, Evolutionary Biology Today)
There are many scientists and people that study evolution and it s wonders. The most
well known was Charles Darwin who traveled to the Galapagos Islands and observed
evolutionary changes in different species or a group of organisms that are very similar to each
other that they can reproduce and have children , but there are four major ones that we should
learn about in biology class. The first guy was Carolus Linnaeus was a Swedish Botanist who

Frederick Thide s Article
Frederick Thide s article, In Search of Limiting Principles: The Eleventh Circuit Invalidates the
Individual Mandate in Florida v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, appearing in the
Boston College Law Review claims that Congress will be crippled in its future efforts to set social
welfare policy (Thide 2012, 370) if the Supreme Court affirms the United States Court of Appeals for
the Eleventh Circuit s holding that Congress exceeded its power under the commerce clause and
necessary and proper clause by requiring individuals to purchase health insurance as part of the Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act (359). In his introduction, Thide (2012) describes the economic
conditions of the health insurance market that brought about the need for the Affordable Care Act and
presents three main ideas to support his conclusion. As a final point, Thide (2012) warns that rejecting
the view that Congress is the primary arbiter of what is necessary and proper, (370) under the
necessary and proper clause, may significantly constrain Congress s power (359) to develop and
implement novel regulatory schemes that include the use of economic mandates (371).
After decades of political wrangling over proposals for universal health care (Thide 2012, 359),
Congress passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and President Obama signed it into
law on March 23, 2010. Thide (2012) calls the act Congress s solution to a complex market failure
(360).

Would You Rage In A Cage Research Paper
Would You Rage In A Cage?
If people wouldn t prefer living life behind bars, what makes you think that the animals would want
to? Extremely large mammals get vicious from living in tiny areas, and as a result, they will never
adapt. Furthermore, they develop abnormal behaviors and diseases. Taking them away from their
natural home, takes away their freedom. Animals in captivity has several downsides, therefore US
citizens should learn how cruel it really is. Imagine living in a world where all animals are living in
the wildlife rather than behind bars. As shown in Bronx Zoo studies, captive animals have a shorter
life span. In fact, the article Free Willy And All His Pals , states that zoo animals often die young after
becoming obese and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Certainly a zoo is no place for animals to live. As can be seen, these scientific studies by PSPCA and
Zoological Society of London show that putting animals behind bars shortens their lifespan. There are
often reasons to consider why animals should not en caged such as mainly new adjustments. Even
after time, exotic animals will never adjust to new conditions. In other words, they belong in their
natural habitat means they only come out at night. The Brown family owned a pint sized Kinkajous. In
order for her to sleep through the day, she dug a hole in an expensive sofa. Not to mention, when she d
awaken at night she would terrorize the house, and eventually she bit the children. To end the chaos,
Mr. Brown contacted the San Diego Children s Zoo and they welcomed her into their zoo (Ebsco 1).
In February 2010, Seaworld Orca Tilikum pulled forty year old senior trainer Dawn Brancheau
underwater. Tilikum shook her violently and severed her spine. This was the second time he had killed
a trainer (Ebsco, 2). Captive Orcas are awfully aggressive. Researchers believe stress or long term
confinement causes them to be violent and psychotic. However, wild orcas have never killed anyone

Alphabet Murder Case Essay
The lives of three young girls were taken in the city of Rochester, New York, during the 1970 s.
Detectives could not identify this vicious killer, who is known as the alphabet murder. This vicious
murder did not only destroyed the lives of three young girls, but also the lives of their families too.
The alphabet murder case is an interesting case for the following reasons, the history of the young girl
s lives, the evidence the detectives have gathered off the young girl s body and the killers reasoning
and or emotions about when he took the young girls.
To begin with, the alphabet murder is interesting because of the history of the victims. For instance,
Carmen Colon was the first victim, Carmen came from a poor catholic family, she ... Show more

The authorities never found any evidence at the crime sense of either victims. The evidence that the
detectives do have is that there might be two alphabet murders. The reason the detectives think this is
because of how the young girls were found. For example, Carmen Colon was the first victim, she went
missing on the evening of November 16th, 1971. When Carmen was supposed to be getting
medications in Bull s head, Rochester, for her grandfather, she would never be seen again. Carmen
found the next day and was not feed, was not clothed, sexually assaulted, had bruises all over her body
and was strangled by the killers hands. Wanda would be the next victim 17 months later, she was taken
on April 2nd, 1973, when she was supposed to be getting groceries for her mother. Lastly, would be
Michelle, who was taken on November 26th, 1973 on her way home from school. Unlike Carmen, the
other two girls were feed, were clothed, sexually assaulted also, had little to no bruises, and were
strangled with a belt. One important piece of evidence is that the detective suspected there could be
two alphabet killers. One of those they believe could be Carmen Colon s uncle, Miguel Colon.
Detectives think this because he avoided being questioned about Carmen s death, his alibi was

According To Ellis s Preface, Explain What Is So...
Honors US History I: Summer Reading Assignment Chapter Summary Questions Preface: The
Generation 1. According to Ellis s preface, explain what is so phenomenal about the founding of the
United States? One reason why the founding of the US is so phenomenal is because the founding
fathers were able to create a nation with a government, out of people who were against any type of
political power (due to all previous corrupted rulers). There were also many people who were against
the idea of a band of national advocates. (Ellis 9). People divided and scattered came together as a
nation which is a miracle in itself. 2. Analyze what the author calls the paradox of the revolutionary

4. Evaluate some of the problems that plagued the United States making it difficult to build a nation?
In your opinion, which problem was most pressing? Explain. One problem was that no man had ever
created a republican government with a country as large as the US; so no higher authorities had faith
in the creation of this republican nation. Another apparent obstacle was that the legacy of the
Revolution and the Declaration of Independence contradicted with the establishment of governmental
authority. Furthermore, the Revolution encouraged people to rebel authority. Also, the states in the
new nation did not share a history in the past and did not come together (other than wars). Lastly, there
were many black peoples growing rapidly amongst racist whites. In my opinion, the contradiction
between the legacy of the Revolution and building a nation with an authority strikes as the most
pressing because the people the people as a whole become angry and stubborn when something they
have fought/are fighting for is crushed. Chapter 1: The Duel 5. According to Ellis s explanation, why
did Hamilton and Burr duel in the first place? Burr challenged Hamilton to a duel, and Hamilton
accepted it with all his pride and honor. Burr was justified in challenging Hamilton because of their
many differences in politics and character. One specific example

Dream big or be realistic Some people don t like to dream big for they just choose to be realistic,
however being realistic is a good thing. In my opinion, i believe that being realistic is the best option
you can have. For example, in the novel The glass castle the little girl will always think about the glass
castle she would live in, however she ended up living in an apartment in New York City. This made
her realize that was just one of her dreams and that it won t come true because of this, she would
always predict what would happen before it occurred. Being able to see things how they really are is
good. For example, my sister would always be getting after me because i will always expect great

A Heated Competitive Nature Of Basketball
I grew up with five brothers, naturally there was a heated competitive nature in my household over
anything and everything. Notably when the competition at hand was the sport of basketball. Growing
up basketball was more than a game, it was a way of life. My brothers and I analyzed every aspect of
basketball, we were students of the game. I recall the 2008 NCAA Men s Basketball Tournament,
there was this undersized point guard playing for Davidson College by the name of Stephen Curry.
This kid took the basketball world by storm, he became an overnight sensation. He led the Davidson
College Wildcats all the way to the National Quarterfinals, an oddity for Davidson s basketball
program. Despite losing to Kansas in the National Quarterfinals, he increased his draft stock from
possibly undrafted to a first round talent over the course of a few weeks. Additionally, in the 2009
NBA Draft Stephen Curry was selected 7th overall, and from that point on he has changed the game of
basketball like never before. Steph Curry or the Babyface Assassin changed the game by his
upbringing, style of play, and his portrayal. Stephen Curry was born on March 14, 1988. His father is
Dell Curry, a man who played for the Charlotte Hornets for all of his 16 years in the NBA. Regardless
of his father playing on the highest level, it was his mother Sonya who instituted the legendary work
ethic of Steph Curry. His mother was a division one volleyball star at Virginia Tech, so Soyna knew

Truman And The Cold War
The United States came out of World War II ready to concentrate on domestic issues, but
unfortunately, the more pressing issue of the Cold War needed addressing. Democracy and
communism challenged the world order and the United States and the USSR took center stage on
determining the world s economic, social and political future for the next forty five years. Each
American president handled the power differently, acted on what he thought was in the best interest of
the United States, and took on the Cold War through words and actions that often translated to real
war but never directly with Russia.
The basis of the idea was clearly spoken in a 1946 cable by U.S. peacekeeper George F. Kennan

Elizabeth I Than Any Other Of The Tudor Monarchs
Historians have dedicated more biographies to Elizabeth I than any other of the Tudor monarchs.
Elizabeth was the only daughter of Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. Books relating to
aspects of Queen Elizabeth I s life currently run into the hundreds. The time that a certain biography
was written is an important factor to bear in mind when reading about this historical figure. Despite
that historical facts are unchanging, the historian s perspectives and interpretations, as well as their
styles of reconstructing history often, change with time. This paper analyzes the interpretation of the
events that surrounded the confinement of Elizabeth I in the Tower of London by her predecessor
Mary I over religious differences.
Alison Weir s accounts of the life of Queen Elizabeth I seek to depict the monarch s personal life
within the framework of her rule. The facts are majorly drawn from Queen Elizabeth s literary remains
and also those of her contemporaries. Weir s manuscript was originally called The Private Life of
Elizabeth I, a title that later changed after it became apparent that Queen Elizabeth s life was not a
private affair. Weir also acknowledges that it is not possible to come up with a convincing account of
Queen Elizabeth s life without drawing in the social and political events that made her life fabric. As
such, this biography emphasizes the reactions of Queen Elizabeth I to the events surrounding her so as
to depict how she managed to influence

Totalitarianism In 1984
Totalitarianism is a type of regime that all the residents of a country are completely controlled by their
government. Unlike Democracy, people who live under totalitarianism do not truly possess their
human rights at all. The government s orders are their only belief. In George Orwell s famous political
novel named 1984 , he portrays how people live under totalitarianism and how totalitarian government
tries to maintain its power to control over people thus the individual s instinct is limited. Under the
government s tortures, the main character named Winston Smith is forced to vaporize his own

Essay on Shakespeare s Macbeth as a Tragic Hero
Macbeth as a Tragic Hero
According to the Greek philosopher Aristotle, The best tragic plot moves the hero from prosperity to
misfortune, occasioned not by depravity, but by some great mistake he makes. The plot of Macbeth
follows these basic guidelines; throughout the play we follow the path of the main character as his life
is torn apart as a result of the colossal mistake he makes when he kills Duncan. It is for this and the
many ensuing reasons that we can say that Macbeth accurately portrays the image of a tragic hero as
outlined by Aristotle.
Aristotle s first guideline for an effective tragic hero is someone that is basically good. While Macbeth
does not exactly make sound moral decisions, toward the beginning of ... Show more content on

real person. Further on in the play he opens up more when he says, I have almost forgot the taste of
fears... At this point in the play the audience has almost lost sight of Macbeth as a real person, his cold
blooded murders disgust us so much that that he becomes something too bile to possibly be human.
We believe that no human could possibly act with the harsh brutality that Macbeth acts with, and so

individual. However, when Macbeth says these words, he is opening himself up to the fact that he is
still human. The audience realizes that since he can still feel fear, which is a human emotion, he must
still be human. For a brief moment the audience connects with Macbeth, and there is a sense of pity
for the tragic hero because both parties realize that the end is near in sight. For a brief second we

feminaw Feminist Reading of Kate Chopin s The Awakening...
A Feminist Reading of The Awakening
The Awakening is not new to me. However, in the class when I read it before the instructor refused to
entertain a feminist criticism. The theory presented was that Edna knew what kind of man she was
marrying and all these things she went through: her friendship with Madame Reisz leaving the house,
entertaining her friends at the party, her situation with Robert and Arobin were all selfish efforts
toward the ultimate freedom which is death.
I feel Chopin faults Leonce as much as Edna for Edna s problems. He is a cold fish. He is controlling
and he puts on a show for friends and neighbors proving he is a model husband which he is not. He is

Her search for freedom builds and destroys relationships. She befriends people and then chooses to
ignore them. Her final big party is her final farewell. She brings out all the sensuousness that her
reserve had kept her from expressing and enjoying. Everything pleasing to the senses is there for her
guests. There are colors, textures, tastes, and sounds for the senses to luxuriate. But all this sensory
enhancements doesn t keep her attention. She feels the same old ennui, and the party shortly thereafter
breaks up. Of course, all this meets with Leonce disapproval. His concern is not about his wife s
mental or emotional health, but rather, what people will say.
To experience freedom of the soul Edna has no choice but to return to the sea. It is the only thing
capable of giving her the emotional security and sensual satisfaction at the same time. She goes to it
and allows it to claim her.
Like many of Chopin s stories, The Awakening ends in a death. Chopin apparently sees death as the
ultimate freedom. No matter what we do as women in this world we are always restricted in our
movements by some facet of our lives. While Chopin tries to speak for women, I think this premise
that our lives are restricted also applies to men. There may not be as many restrictions but they are
there. Freedom s just another word for nothin left to loose. Janis Joplin

Essay On War In The Pacific
Main Battles in the Pacific WWII Max Metcalf Honors World History Final Draft The War in the
Pacific between the Allies and Japan during World War II was different than any other war that the
U.S. had ever experienced. The battles were primarily fought on the sea and in the air. The purpose
of this paper is to discuss some of the major battles of the War in the Pacific and important facts about
each one. After WWI, Japan was unhappy that they did not receive the territories they thought due to
them for their support of the Allies. The War in the Pacific began in 1937 when Japan attacked China.
This act of aggression alienated the West. The U.S. believed that Japan was a threat in the Pacific..

However the eventual capture of this island advanced MacArthur s desire to recapture the Philippines

Iwo Jima is an iconic symbol of the War in the Pacific. More marines sent into this battle than any
other battle. It was also the largest armada invasion up to this time in the war. It is regarded as the
classic amphibious assault of World War II. (Iwo Jima) The new U.S. B 29 bombers were able to
reach Japanese Home Islands from Saipan and other neighboring islands under their control. The
problem was that the Japanese fighters on Iwo Jima were able to intercept them. Having Iwo Jima

Hans Schwarz s Reunion
Reunion is told from the view of a young man named Hans Schwarz, a teenage boy in Germany
during the Nazi uprising. When you read the story of this young jewish boy, you are seeing Germany
before the war. You see that there was very little to no bias towards Hans for his religion. When you
first meet him, he is seen as bored and inattentive, he does not care about the proceedings of the world
around him. When you are introduced to Count Konradin von Hohenfels, you see this noble boy
through the eyes of a middle class boy who has grown up hearing about the legendary family. (pg. 2)
The author may have chosen that point of view to show what it would feel like for an average person
to be in the presence of nobility. It gives you a strong impression

Challenges Facing The Human Resource Department
Introduction of the Issue:
As international businesses become more common and globalization continues to boom, many
challenges face the Human Resource Department. With employees and business spanning over many
countries, continents and hemispheres, businesses will face cultural diversity, technology reliance, and
many other risks that go along with international businesses. Human Resource departments have been
forced to become more knowledgeable in the hiring, training and retention of managers in
international businesses due to these challenges. HR should first learn how best to train managers, and
then utilize the following best practices to implement the training and development of managers in
international business.
Training
Training managers is the outlying part of each best practice Human Resources must implement. To
train well, HR must find the best way to go about training managers, which may be in various
locations and from a broad range of cultures. In the article titled, Multicultural Work Force, training is
explained in two forms, awareness training and skill building. Awareness training is broader and
aimed at increasing a manager s self awareness with situational exercises. These exercises will show
employees how they think, manage and act when challenges emerge. After seeing the results, HR can
directly work on areas needing improvement to best equip the managers in solving challenges. Skill
building is directly looking at cultural norms for specific

Beatles Thesis
The Beatles Music has impacted human lives all throughout history, whether it has been a simple thing
like someone playing their guitar in the streets or an overcrowded performance by an artist. The
reason behind this is because music has been able to express emotions that many can t express into
words and it has grown so much throughout the years that it has exponentially become a statement for
those trying to impact others. A great example of a group, who was able to influence not only lives,
but some say even generations, is The Beatles. Before learning about their fame and success it is
important to understand where it all began and how it all unfolded for these four artists. According to
author Womack Kenneth, who wrote The Beatles Encyclopedia: Everything Fab Four Ringo Starr was
born on July 7 1940, on October 9 John Winston Lennon is born, June 8 1942 James Paul McCartney
is born and lastly in February 25 1943 George Harrison is born and all four were born in Liverpool,
England . Before becoming The Beatles they were once known as The Quarry Men (Womack). Their
encounter occurred on the year 1957 McCarthy first met Lennon and decided to join the Quarry Men
after performing at the Woolton Parish Church Garden Fête in Liverpool and a year after that Harrison

Principles Of Kanban Methodology
Today Kanban methodology is especially popular in software development. But few people know that
it was invented for other industry. Kanban originated in Japan in 1940s. Of course there was no
software industry at that time. The methodology was invented by the employees of Toyota
Corporation as a project management tool. It was aimed at improving the quality of production and
minimizing the terms of its delivery. In 1940s delivery of certain production to the customer just in
time was a great problem. The companies that implemented Kanban project management system
performed this task successfully regardless of the conditions.
The success of Kanban methodology can be explained by the fact that it is based on three main
principles.
The first principle says that a Kanban team must consider ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kanban development methodology is defined as one of the Agile methods. It has been extremely
popular among software developers in recent years. Partially that is because of its unique ability to
manage any projects. If you use Kanban for software development, you are able to create the product
of supreme quality within the shortest amount of time. In most cases that is just what any customer
and user needs.
Like any other Agile software development methodology, Kanban is based on strong customer and
user involvement into the workflow. As we have already mentioned, consideration of the customer
demands was the main principle of Kanban methodology even before it applied to software
development. In this industry it was improved even more. Kanban is a software development
methodology with the greatest range of customer involvement into its projects. In Kanban the
customer participates at the process of work constantly. Usually he is represented by a man named the
Product Owner. He is responsible for gathering user stories and prioritizing them in the product

Business and the Economy
Business and the Economy
1. Business is one of the principal elements fueling the economy and the way that functions reflects on
society as a whole. Businesses are responsible for the creation of a competitive market and it is only
safe to say that they make it possible for a community to achieve economic progress. Individuals in a
competitive environment feel pressured to act as effectively as possible and they are thus enabled to
put across behavior that contributes to the wellbeing of the economy. Even with the fact that
businesses are not exactly meant to cause a great deal of social benefits, they are nonetheless essential
in keeping the economy alive.
Although it would be absurd to claim that businesses has a moral role in society, one can claim that it
is one of the most important tools assisting people achieve progress. Many people experience stress as
a result of their involvement in the economy, as they are unable to keep up with the fact that it is
constantly growing and they end up being unable to sustain themselves.
2. In spite of the fact that people generally focus on public and private entities when they think about
the economy, nonprofit organizations are also an important actor in the economy. Public institutions
are in charge of producing goods and services that are generally considered to be wanted by everyone.
Private agencies focus on providing people with personalized goods and services and are largely
dependent on market competition in order to

Identity Reflection Paper
Identity is a complex aspect of someone s life. It is a combination of how people view others, how
someone views himself, and how their community is seen by others. These still can be split even more
into infinite dimensions which are combined to create a unique identity. Identity is also an inconstant
part of life as it is manipulated by the people, environment, and activities at the moment. My identity
started when I was born as I was given a race based on my ancestry and genetics and a gender based
on my anatomy. These parts have remained constant throughout my life, unlike most of the many
dimensions that my identity is composed of. Although I don t always think about these dimensions as
the primary source of my identity, I believe that people who have just met me for the first time
consider this to be one of the biggest aspects of the identity they have given me. As people learn more
about me, their vision of my identity changes as the internal central aspects begin to be noticed. I
consider the key components of my identity to be my education, region, religion, and gender. These
four dimensions have been central to the vision I have of myself as well as the vision others hopefully
have of me once they know me well. I believe that these four dimensions represent my identity,
because based on my normal context these are the aspects that I introduce myself with. Throughout
my life, my education has remained the most central part of my identity despite everything that has

In the Canterbury Tales, Geoffry Chaucer, meets and describes twenty nine pilgrims. While all of their
reasons and intentions differ, they are all going to visit the shrine of Sir Thomas Beckett. Chaucer uses
many different methods to describe his characters. To describe the squire, he chooses to focus on his
appearence, his abilities, and his sexuality but the more that is revealed about the Squire s character,
the more likely it seems that his talents lie elsewhere than on the battlefield. Many lines are dedicated
to his appearence. It is made apparent that he cares how he looks to others as his hair is first described

How I Have Made And Are Seeking Advice
I have heard that you regret the choices you have made and are seeking advice. I would like to

heal you personally as well as your damaged relationship with God and the community.
When people sin, they turn away and disobey God. They are choosing their own way instead of
remaining faithful to God. When a person sins, it creates a separation between the community, God
and the person. Whenever someone sins it hurts and affects the community of believers. When we sin,
we damage our ability to experience God s love and to live fully with a freed conscience. Our actions

Over all, the Church has developed formal rituals that address the needs of people to be reconciled
with God and the church.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation calls for repentance and conversion of heart. This means, turning
away from sin and bad choices and turn towards God and others. Through this sacrament, members of
the Catholic Church can continue to experience God s mercy and forgiveness and are reconciled with
God, themselves and the church community. Catholics believe that through Reconciliation they
receive the grace and power from God to turn away from evil and turn to a new way of being.
Reconciliation celebrates the conversion to a new way of living. The new relationship between self,
God and community. All of us will at some point in our life need reconciliation with people and
sometimes even with ourselves. For Christians, it is also important to reconcile with God. We all
experience times when we need forgiveness for how we have behaved but it must begin with a change
of heart.
Before you go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation it is important to understand what will happen.
Going to confession is a concrete sign that we are sorry for our sin and shows that we are ready to do
something about changing our behaviour. When going to Confession, there is two main people
involved: the penitent, who is seeking forgiveness and the priest, who is absolving you of your sins.
The priest does not forgive sins

Animal Testing For Animals Essay
Innocent animals are thrust into the horrors of war every battle humans create. These non human
creatures are cruelly experimented with excruciating weapons, used as meat shields to protect soldiers,
and fight for no cause. The use of these animals is inhumane and atrocious. Animals should not be
used for war as long as the military s current methods of experimentation, speciesism, and involuntary
usage of the animals are to be continued. Firstly; Each year thousands of animals perish by cause of
military experiments, with humane, cost effective, accurate alternatives available. In their research
labs, numerous species of animals including amphibians, goats, pigs, and non human primates are
subject to testing used to study the effects of combat casualty trauma, radiation exposure, conventional
weapons, and many more. For example, in Combat Trauma Training, goats´ limbs are amputated to
cause bleeding and hemorrhaging. Rats have been submerged in boiling water for 10 seconds, and had
the burns infected. Medical Training consists of treating gunshot wounds, tissue damage, burns, and
other painful injuries caused by the labs. An example of a humane alternative is an Artificial Human

the different people and their families.
In the beginning, we were undecided on which would a be great place to start to observe without
looking suspicious. Therefore, I choose the Loggerhead Sea Turtles (Caretta caretta) that swam in the
same tank as some baby sharks. The reason why I picked this particular section out of the entire
aquarium was because it had the most beautiful creature that caught your eyes as you walked by. The

`` Piano `` By D. H. Lawrence And Traveling Through The Dark
D. H. Lawrence, and English writer, and William Stafford, an American writer lived and wrote at
different times but their subject matter is often similar. Piano written by D. H. Lawrence and Traveling
through the Dark by William Stafford demonstrate remarkable similarity, each written about
experiences that describe emotions, however in very different ways. Although Lawrence and Stafford
are both respected poets, their writing styles, and expectations for readers differ significantly. While
Lawrence maintains a feeling of nostalgia and remembrances to keep the reader s attention, Stafford s
structure includes a bit of darkness and suspense for his readers. These astute writers are similar in
many ways, but they have one significant difference. The authors messages and delivery set them
apart. Lawrence and Stafford were kind of rebels in the literary field. One of Lawrence s most famous
novels, Lady Chatterly s Lover defied censorship and was banned from America until the late 1950 s.
Piano does not fit into the same mold, it is a sentimental and loving poem. Critics often refer to
Stafford as a pacifist and a conscientious objector during the war. Traveling through the Dark follows
the general style used in his poetry. He often delivers messages that are direct and bold. Both poets
were teachers at one point in their lives. Each one wrote using deceptively simple language and ideas.
Upon looking at these two poems, the reader automatically sees

Gilgamesh Is A Hero
Since long ago, people carried an image of what it means to be a hero. It is evident in some great
books one might even say. As in The Epic of Gilgamesh, Antigone, and The Iliad, heroism is
displayed and exalted, but what does being a hero mean? Overarchingly, in regards to these works, the
heroes earn their titles as heroes by notably doing what is right when the time is right, with humane
purpose, and an everlasting message. However, Gilgamesh, Antigone, and Akhilleus, being different
in their purposes, everlasting messages, type of heroism as whole, can not compare in regards to
heroic status.

At the end of the epic, after his epiphany, Gilgamesh returns to his kingdom, able to rule as a true
leader, respecting his people, and his people respecting him. Gilgamesh displays this growth at the end
of the Epic as he admires his city, Survey its foundations, examine the brickwork! , Did the Seven
Sages not lay its foundations? (Gilgamesh 11.324,236) This was his act of of good. Realising what it
takes to rule his kingdom, not like a tyrant, was what his message was. What truly made Gilgamesh a
hero was his transformation from being a tyrant to a good king. Gilgamesh lived on through the
foundations of his Kingdom, in a way, making him mortal. As people continue to study the epic, one
might even suggest Gilgamesh obtained immortality as being remembered a hero.
Antigone too was a hero, however, in a different way. While displayed a message, she did good, and
had purpose, it was all slightly different than Gilgamesh. Antigone stood against the King, Creon, her
uncle, who ruled tyrannically. With this, her message shared some parallel to Gilgamesh, suggesting
that if a Tyrant is in power, change is needed. She criticized her uncle for not being a king of the
people, as he made it illegal to bury one of her brothers. Despite Creon being king, she expressed, But
he s no right to keep me from what s mine (Antigone line 60). Antigone actively expresses that being a
king does not give one absolute right over every person. Through this, she is able to send the a

  • 2. Anatomy And Physiology That Affect Snakes Snakes tend to differ significantly from other terrestrial vertebrates due to their lack of any appendages. Although such a characteristic would appear to be of a significant disadvantage on land, snakes have managed to secure themselves a variety of niches and adaptations. The elongated body gave many snakes the ability to strangle their prey and easily inhabit aquatic and nonaquatic environments alike. Some snakes have also been able to climb trees and managed to out speed or compete with animals with limbs. The specific locomotion of snakes can thus be a potentially important indicator of ecological differences between species [7]. Understanding the ways that snakes move helps us understand the types of factors responsible for their form, while giving insight into inventing machines and instruments that can use this motion for everyday use. This paper will look at the specifics and varieties of snake locomotion, while touching on some of the factors like anatomy and physiology that affect snakes survival. Understanding the origins of snakes and their iconic locomotion have been previously poorly understood [1]. Accurate conclusions about the development of the snakes elongated, legless shape [were] hindered by the relative lack of informative fossils of early stem snakes [1]. Despite this, questions concerning the origin of their anatomy are usually narrowed down to two different environmental influences: either 1) aquatic life or 2) fossorial life. Both ... • 3. An Allegory In George Orwell s Animal Farm An allegory is a story or poem that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden message, typically involving politics. A great example of an allegory is George Orwell s, Animal Farm. When just looking at this story, one would think it was just about animals that ran off their owners and then formed their own lifestyle with an animal leader. On the contrary, if one was to pay attention to the story they would notice that it is pointing the reader to a time in history. Orwell wrote the story around 1944 in reference to the Russian Revolution and to slander the Soviet Union. Throughout the novella, the reader is introduced to the vital characters and is able to connect them to men in history. For example, Old Major the pig was a symbol of Karl Marx. One can see this through the personality and Old Major and also through him telling of his dream. In the beginning of the novel, Major has a dream where all animals were equal. He told the other animals that they did not have to have short lives that were dominated by labor and hunger for the human s sake. Old Major asked during the giving of his dream if it was not crystal clear, comrades, that all the evils of this life of ours spring from the tyranny of human beings? The dream was used to shadow Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto where Marx presented the evils of feudalism, capitalism, and the ideal world of communism to inspire the Russian Revolution. Marx believed that everything in the worlds history could be explained in result of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Black rock, Nick Enright Essay Today I ll be talking about the play Blackrock that I ve been studying in class this term, the purpose of this speech is to make us think how Australian drama challenges us to think about Australian culture and identity, and the impacts it can have on us as person and as a community. Guys stick up for their mates no matter what Blackrock is a play written by Nick Enright that provides insight into Australian culture. Through the violent rape of a teenage girl, the audience is challenged to consider the values and attitudes still prevalent in Australia today. Enright uses authentic and raw Australian characters to reveal inherent patriarchal attitudes towards women and the problems with a society that promotes sexual double ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The boy s in Blackrock often partake in risk taking behaviour in order to gain respect within their group and this can lead to a detrimental gang mentality. In the third scene Jared reveals to his friend Rachel why he is so loyal to his good friend Ricko. He s been my mate since forever... he says, with the use of emotive dialogue and colloquial language. The authenticity conveyed through the emotive and colloquial language shows the seemingly positive impact that Ricko has had on Jared. After his Dad split he didn t have a male role model and was what he called a total fuck up or someone to guide him in the hyper masculine world. He found security in Ricko and in return Jared defends Ricko at all costs, this shows the encouraging aspects of mateship, where boys can find sense of belonging in their friendships. However, Jared s idealisation of Ricko blinds him to the realities of his aggressive personality. The impact of mateship and how easy it is for somebody to be pressured into doing something just to fit in is highlighted in scene six. Ricko forces a boy named Toby who has only recently been fixated into the group into performing the ring of fire as the other Blackrock boys cheer him on. You re the barbeque, mate. It is shown as a type of initiation for the Blackrock boys; Toby ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Evolution And Evolution Of Evolution What is the theory of evolution? Many people who don t understand science or Biology don t know how to answer this question. Evolution is the process of biological change by which descendants come to differ from their ancestors. In our society today, there is many conflicts that exist between creationism which is the belief that a higher power created the Earth and made living things and the theory of evolution. Some people are debating whether to teach evolution in schools because the subject is very touchy to others. In other areas of the world, there is wars against religion and evolution. I am on both sides. I don t really care about either because they both sound pretty good to me. Evolution makes sense to me. I like the history of evolution. • 8. Frederick Thide s Article Frederick Thide s article, In Search of Limiting Principles: The Eleventh Circuit Invalidates the Individual Mandate in Florida v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, appearing in the Boston College Law Review claims that Congress will be crippled in its future efforts to set social welfare policy (Thide 2012, 370) if the Supreme Court affirms the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit s holding that Congress exceeded its power under the commerce clause and necessary and proper clause by requiring individuals to purchase health insurance as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (359). In his introduction, Thide (2012) describes the economic conditions of the health insurance market that brought about the need for the Affordable Care Act and presents three main ideas to support his conclusion. As a final point, Thide (2012) warns that rejecting the view that Congress is the primary arbiter of what is necessary and proper, (370) under the necessary and proper clause, may significantly constrain Congress s power (359) to develop and implement novel regulatory schemes that include the use of economic mandates (371). After decades of political wrangling over proposals for universal health care (Thide 2012, 359), Congress passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and President Obama signed it into law on March 23, 2010. Thide (2012) calls the act Congress s solution to a complex market failure (360). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Detectives could not identify this vicious killer, who is known as the alphabet murder. This vicious murder did not only destroyed the lives of three young girls, but also the lives of their families too. The alphabet murder case is an interesting case for the following reasons, the history of the young girl s lives, the evidence the detectives have gathered off the young girl s body and the killers reasoning and or emotions about when he took the young girls. When Carmen was supposed to be getting medications in Bull s head, Rochester, for her grandfather, she would never be seen again. According to Ellis s preface, explain what is so phenomenal about the founding of the United States? One reason why the founding of the US is so phenomenal is because the founding fathers were able to create a nation with a government, out of people who were against any type of political power (due to all previous corrupted rulers). There were also many people who were against the idea of a band of national advocates. (Ellis 9). People divided and scattered came together as a nation which is a miracle in itself. 2. Evaluate some of the problems that plagued the United States making it difficult to build a nation? In your opinion, which problem was most pressing? Explain. One problem was that no man had ever created a republican government with a country as large as the US; so no higher authorities had faith in the creation of this republican nation. Another apparent obstacle was that the legacy of the Revolution and the Declaration of Independence contradicted with the establishment of governmental authority. Furthermore, the Revolution encouraged people to rebel authority. Also, the states in the new nation did not share a history in the past and did not come together (other than wars). Lastly, there were many black peoples growing rapidly amongst racist whites. In my opinion, the contradiction between the legacy of the Revolution and building a nation with an authority strikes as the most pressing because the people the people as a whole become angry and stubborn when something they have fought/are fighting for is crushed. To describe the squire, he chooses to focus on his appearence, his abilities, and his sexuality but the more that is revealed about the Squire s character, the more likely it seems that his talents lie elsewhere than on the battlefield. Many lines are dedicated to his appearence. It is made apparent that he cares how he looks to others as his hair is first described as locks curled as they were laid in a press (______ 81). Furthermore, his apparel is described as being Embroidered... as it were a mead (_______ 89). His appearence being made an apparent priority, comes off to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Besides his duties on the battlefield, the Squire is tremendously talented with fine arts. He is able to dance, sing, write and tell stories. These being applaudable skills, mean nothing to his true posistion in town. He is highly skilled in places where it does not matter which also eludes to what he actually cares about. He has just shortly been brought into his apprenticeship but is already very distinguished; some of his characteristics may give light to the reasons he is. • 32. How I Have Made And Are Seeking Advice I have heard that you regret the choices you have made and are seeking advice. I would like to reassure you that I am here to help you. I know something wonderful that can help you find peace and heal you personally as well as your damaged relationship with God and the community. When people sin, they turn away and disobey God. They are choosing their own way instead of remaining faithful to God. When a person sins, it creates a separation between the community, God and the person. Whenever someone sins it hurts and affects the community of believers. When we sin, we damage our ability to experience God s love and to live fully with a freed conscience. Our actions have a ripple effect that affects the whole community. This means that we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over all, the Church has developed formal rituals that address the needs of people to be reconciled with God and the church. The Sacrament of Reconciliation calls for repentance and conversion of heart. This means, turning away from sin and bad choices and turn towards God and others. Through this sacrament, members of the Catholic Church can continue to experience God s mercy and forgiveness and are reconciled with God, themselves and the church community. Catholics believe that through Reconciliation they receive the grace and power from God to turn away from evil and turn to a new way of being. Reconciliation celebrates the conversion to a new way of living. The new relationship between self, God and community. All of us will at some point in our life need reconciliation with people and sometimes even with ourselves. For Christians, it is also important to reconcile with God. We all experience times when we need forgiveness for how we have behaved but it must begin with a change of heart. Before you go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation it is important to understand what will happen. Going to confession is a concrete sign that we are sorry for our sin and shows that we are ready to do something about changing our behaviour. When going to Confession, there is two main people involved: the penitent, who is seeking forgiveness and the priest, who is absolving you of your sins. The priest does not forgive sins ... • 33. Animal Testing For Animals Essay Innocent animals are thrust into the horrors of war every battle humans create. These non human creatures are cruelly experimented with excruciating weapons, used as meat shields to protect soldiers, and fight for no cause. The use of these animals is inhumane and atrocious. Animals should not be used for war as long as the military s current methods of experimentation, speciesism, and involuntary usage of the animals are to be continued. Firstly; Each year thousands of animals perish by cause of military experiments, with humane, cost effective, accurate alternatives available. In their research labs, numerous species of animals including amphibians, goats, pigs, and non human primates are subject to testing used to study the effects of combat casualty trauma, radiation exposure, conventional weapons, and many more. For example, in Combat Trauma Training, goats´ limbs are amputated to cause bleeding and hemorrhaging. Rats have been submerged in boiling water for 10 seconds, and had the burns infected. Medical Training consists of treating gunshot wounds, tissue damage, burns, and other painful injuries caused by the labs. • 34. Mermaid Observation Today was a special day to do my observation paper because it is my anniversary. I got to spend time with my husband and the share the hands on experience together. We spent almost 2 ½ hours at the Virginia Aquarium Marine Science Center, located in Virginia Beach, on Saturday, May 6, 2017. This was a perfect day to observe different ethnicity s groups because it was nice outside with a cool breeze that blew the crowd into the aquarium. We started our visiting the center ourselves before observing the different people and their families. In the beginning, we were undecided on which would a be great place to start to observe without looking suspicious. Therefore, I choose the Loggerhead Sea Turtles (Caretta caretta) that swam in the same tank as some baby sharks. The reason why I picked this particular section out of the entire aquarium was because it had the most beautiful creature that caught your eyes as you walked by. The Loggerhead sea turtle was a must picture taking while posing in front of the glass exhibit. The children eyes lit up as this huge sea creature came towards that glass. While sitting ... • 35. Frost In The Great Cold Frost (Ice s mother) was considered to be one of the most skilled hunters in the Great Cold. She could catch nigh anything, and was sought by many suitors she did not, however, find any of them appealing, and instead chose to remain single through most of her young adulthood. Mold (Ice s father) was just an average cat belonging to the Red Forest who just happened to enjoy hunting on the fringes of the territory closest to the Great Cold. He had a fantastic sense of humor, and was generally a likable cat, but ultimately nothing extraordinary. One day, Mold happened across Frost, who d been chasing a rabbit he helped her corner it, but she was indignant at his apparent appraisal of her skills she began to berate him, but he only waited, shocked, until she d finished speaking. ... • 36. `` Piano `` By D. H. Lawrence And Traveling Through The Dark D. H. Lawrence, and English writer, and William Stafford, an American writer lived and wrote at different times but their subject matter is often similar. Piano written by D. H. Lawrence and Traveling through the Dark by William Stafford demonstrate remarkable similarity, each written about experiences that describe emotions, however in very different ways. Although Lawrence and Stafford are both respected poets, their writing styles, and expectations for readers differ significantly. While Lawrence maintains a feeling of nostalgia and remembrances to keep the reader s attention, Stafford s structure includes a bit of darkness and suspense for his readers. These astute writers are similar in many ways, but they have one significant difference. The authors messages and delivery set them apart. Lawrence and Stafford were kind of rebels in the literary field. One of Lawrence s most famous novels, Lady Chatterly s Lover defied censorship and was banned from America until the late 1950 s. Piano does not fit into the same mold, it is a sentimental and loving poem. Critics often refer to Stafford as a pacifist and a conscientious objector during the war. Traveling through the Dark follows the general style used in his poetry. He often delivers messages that are direct and bold. Both poets were teachers at one point in their lives. Each one wrote using deceptively simple language and ideas. Upon looking at these two poems, the reader automatically sees ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Gilgamesh Is A Hero Since long ago, people carried an image of what it means to be a hero. It is evident in some great books one might even say. As in The Epic of Gilgamesh, Antigone, and The Iliad, heroism is displayed and exalted, but what does being a hero mean? Overarchingly, in regards to these works, the heroes earn their titles as heroes by notably doing what is right when the time is right, with humane purpose, and an everlasting message. However, Gilgamesh, Antigone, and Akhilleus, being different in their purposes, everlasting messages, type of heroism as whole, can not compare in regards to heroic status. Gilgamesh is a hero. At the end of the epic, after his epiphany, Gilgamesh returns to his kingdom, able to rule as a true leader, respecting his people, and his people respecting him. Gilgamesh displays this growth at the end of the Epic as he admires his city, Survey its foundations, examine the brickwork! , Did the Seven Sages not lay its foundations? (Gilgamesh 11.324,236) This was his act of of good. Realising what it takes to rule his kingdom, not like a tyrant, was what his message was. What truly made Gilgamesh a hero was his transformation from being a tyrant to a good king. Gilgamesh lived on through the foundations of his Kingdom, in a way, making him mortal. As people continue to study the epic, one might even suggest Gilgamesh obtained immortality as being remembered a hero. Antigone too was a hero, however, in a different way. While displayed a message, she did good, and had purpose, it was all slightly different than Gilgamesh. Antigone stood against the King, Creon, her uncle, who ruled tyrannically. With this, her message shared some parallel to Gilgamesh, suggesting that if a Tyrant is in power, change is needed. She criticized her uncle for not being a king of the people, as he made it illegal to bury one of her brothers. Despite Creon being king, she expressed, But he s no right to keep me from what s mine (Antigone line 60). Antigone actively expresses that being a king does not give one absolute right over every person. Through this, she is able to send the a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We had all been preparing for weeks on end. General Arthur Currie was leading us, and by the way he led us, I knew that we wouldn t come back defeated. It was nice and early on Easter day when it started. Everybody and anyone knew the plan. We all had pictures and maps to guide us through these underground tunnels. We were also taught a technique called creeping barrage. First, there would be a round of heavy artillery being shot at the enemy trench, and right after, the first wave of soldiers would go in. We were all equipped with machine guns, rifles, bayonets and anything we could get our hands on. I even killed 10 men while we were at it! The first wave was a success due to our huge advantage, but for some, it was not. Gregory was also apart of that first wave. We had just begun fighting when a soldier in front of us got pushed down. Gregory immediately went to help him up. I told him not to, but he wouldn t listen. A German soldier had spotted him and with a blink of an eye, he was shot to the ground. I blame myself.
