This document outlines the objectives and topics covered in a course on human-computer interface design taught by Dr. Mihaela Vorvoreanu. The course objectives are to explain interface design principles, apply user-centered design processes, evaluate designs, conduct usability studies, and identify research trends. Key topics covered include human perception, sight, hearing, touch, memory and attention in design. Students are asked to complete readings, set up a blog for journal article summaries, and comment on the instructor's blog with their blog link.

Guiding principles are the broad philosophy or fundamental beliefs that steer an organization, team or individual’s decision making, irrespective of the project goals, constraints, or resources.
Whitney will share a universally-applicable set of experience design principles that we should all strive to follow, and will explore how you can create and use your own guiding principles to take your site or product to the next level.

It is hard to think about a more intimate experience between a user and a product than the experience of riding a motorcycle, and Shimon can speak about it empathically and passionately both as a motorcyclist and as a product development expert. The lessons that can be learned, the analogies and metaphors, are extremely rich and insightful, even to those who never got close to a machine on two (or three) wheels.
The presentation is targeted to executives and professionals in the areas of product design, development, and marketing, and can be customized to specific areas of interest. Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
