2. ABSTRACT
• The project implemented a telemetry system capable
of real time processing, analysis, and storage of data
collected from the vehicle.
• The data is sampled using sensors and other hardware
on board the car.
• It is then processed by switching and relay unit and
wirelessly transmitted to a base-station.
• This information can also be used to make adjustments
to the car ,such as to the fuel controller, engine
performance, etc to alter its performance.

3. INDRODUCTION
• Data Acquisition System (DAQ) and Telemetry is vital
to the development of a vehicle.
• The designs can be validated and tuneable
parameters adjusted to increase performance and
efficiency.
• The system discussed in this paper was designed
specifically for automotive application.
• That all the significant operation data are
continuously transmitted via a wireless
communication system to base station

5. TRANSMITTING SIDE
• There are four sensors in the transmission side
• These sensors are connected to the switching and
relay unit .
• The power supply is given to the sensors and relay
unit .
• The switching and relay unit are connected to the
GSM modulator and demodulator
• It will send the signal to the base station.

7. RECEIVING SIDE
• The GSM modulator and demodulator will received
the signal and given to the DTMF detector .
• The power supply is given to the DTMF detector .
• It will decode the signal & convert in to binary .
• And gives the out put it is connected to the LED.
• Now the LED will glow as per the input come from
the DTMF detector.

• A tachogenerator is used to sense the speed of the
vehicle.
• The generator output is used to trigger the
transmitter(BC547) .
• When the transmitter is ON the relay is energized
and the signal is given to the GSM modulator.

• An inert gas tube is used to sense the accident
occurred in the vehicle.
• Normally the circuit having a closed path, and 24v
supply is there.
• So the coil is in energised position, so the switch is in
normally open condition.
• When the supply is cut the coil is de-energised and
the switch is in closed position.

12. • At that time the second circuit is active and energise
the relay coil and the second switch is in normally
closed position, then a signal is send to the GSM
modem.

• A thermostat is used to sense the temperature of
the vehicle.
• The sensor output is used to energized the relay ,
then the switch in normally closed position and the
signal is give to the GSM modulator.

• The main part of a fuel sensor is a mercury switch,
and relay arrangement.
• When the level of fuel decreases the mercury will
conduct and energise the relay coil, a signal is
transmitted to the GSM modem.

• DTMF Decoder is used for receiving data from
transmissions side.
• The decoder distinguishes the DTMF tones and
produces the binary sequence equivalent to key
pressed in a DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency)
keypad.
• The DTMF tone is a form of one way
communication between the transmitter and the
receiver .
• DTMF is the ultimate technique used in any of the
Mobile communication systems.

20. OPERATION
• The Signals from the all sensors are given to the GSM
modulator and the GSM modulator will transmit the
signal.
• The Frequency of GSM modulator is depend up on
the fault Signal from the Sensor.
• The transmitting section is fully implemented inside
the vehicle.
• Here having sensors are collect the variation occur in
the vehicle (temperature, speed, collision, fuel level).

22. OPERATION
• The Receiver Receives Signal from the GSM
Transmitter and provide the different frequency
depend upon the faults.
• The DTMF Decoder decodes the different frequency
in to binary codes.
• The output is the form of DC Voltage which is given
to the LEDs. The Fault can be detected from the glow.
• In the vehicle we are setting a particular speed
limit. When the limit is exceeded the sensor
will send the signal.

23. • When the engine temperature is going to
exceeded above the normal temperature the
sensor is sensed the signal.
• The fuel level is going down to a particular level,
the level switch will operate and giving signal .
• When the vehicle become an accident then the
inert gas tube is broken and the signal is send.
• These signal are receive in the base station and
corresponding out put is given.

24. ADVANTAGES
• It does not have any complicated circuit
• Maintenances is very easy
• Receiving section also a simple circuit
• Power consumption is low
• Over all cost is less

25. CONCLUSION
• In this project we can able to transmit the real time
data from the vehicle without any wires using.
• Then successfully receives the signals and got the
corresponding outputs without any interruptions.
• So that the system can easily fit in to other similar data
acquisition and telemetry applications.
• In feature by using the system we can provide
continuous monitoring on the vehicle during motion
and static conditions.
• Thus it improves the effectiveness of the system and
also increases the safety margin.
