What Our Audience Results Are Telling Us
1. WHAT ARE OUR AUDIENCE
RESULTS TELLING US?
• From our results we see:
• The most popular genre of film was teen drama and romance. This was due to difference in
gender, and also due to the split in personality.
• We see that our main audience that everybody thought our film was aimed at was teens and
early 20’s, this was down to things like the events people wanted to see happen and that they
wouldn’t be respectful for older audiences.
2. WHAT DO THE AUDIENCE WANT TO
SEE AND HOW WILL THIS INFLUENCE
YOUR PRODUCTION?
• Also our results show people want to see: This was because they excite and keep
the young audiences entertained in what they are watching and makes them want
to carry on watching this also down to things like:
3. ANY SURPRISES?
• We could have so many different surprises in our production, this is influence by our
genre and how it could have so many different aspects to it that we could change
things, take things out and add in so many new ideas.
4. OUR TARGET AUDIENCE.
(LAUREN MU)
• Our target audience is: teens and young adults (15-24)
• We chose this as what we have planned to do in our piece is suitable for this
audience due to many things discussed previously. Such as colour and events.
5. OUR GENRE.
• Our opening sequence will be filled with a few different genres:
6. CONVENTIONS.
• Codes and conventions of teen films vary depending on the cultural context of the film, but they can
include proms, alcohol, illegal substances, high school, parties, someone loosing their virginity or lying
about it, social groups and cliques, interpersonal conflict with peers and/or the older generations, and
American pop culture.
• Stereotypes usually used in our genre are:
• The Jock/Cheerleader ,School Diva, The Geek/Nerd ,The Rebel, The Misfit, or The Outcast, The
Boy/Girl next door ,The New Girl/Boy. .
7. CONVENTIONS.
• Apart from the characters there are many other codes and conventions of teen film.
These films are often set in high schools so we can establish the differen social
groups and all of the different cliques, in romantic teen films we usually just focus on
the two main charcters in “love”.
