2. • A girl wakes up in a field looking a state, she has no
phone, no money and had no idea where she is
or what had happened the previous night.
• The rest of the film shows the events of the night
before which includes a lot of partying, drugs,
alcohol and misbehavior.
•
3. Unique selling point:
• The unique selling point for our film is our characterisation,
the fact that our character is relatable to our target
audience allows us to create a more personal
relationship with the viewers.
• Urban Fiction films aren't commonly made as they appeal
to a very niche audience, therefore by us creating this
genre brings 'something new' to genre of films on at
today's cinemas.
4. Idea for teaser trailer:
key events:
• Wakes up in a field
• reverses to the events of the
previous night:
• shots
• drugs
• tumbling down stairs
• house party
• CCTV camera shows her walking
through alley way drunk.
• Implied sexual scenes.
•
Characters:
Our main character is
an average school girl
who usually 'plays by
the rules' however she
is easily influenced by
her friends one night
and goes of the rails.
Texts/ Graphics:
We are going to use
an 'urban' feel text to
support the genre of
the film we are
creating. We aren't
going to use any
exaggerated effects
or editing technique
as this is a reality film
and therefor we do
not want to make it
less relatable for the
audience by doing
this.
Sound
Our teaser trailer not
use a large amount of
dialogue, the only use
of dialogue will be at
the start of the trailer.
After this we will use
urban music for the
majority of the trailer,
we may also use foley
sounds in our trailer.
Also, our teaser trailer
will have no use for a
voice over as the
trailers key events
show enough for the
audience to have a
clear idea of what will
happen in the film.
5. Target Audience
Our target audience is definitely
aimed at both males and
females around the 15-24 age
bracket, as we try and make it
relatable and engaging for the
audience.
In terms of social class, we would
be more aiming at C2 (Skilled
manual occupations) & DE (Semi-
skilled & unskilled manual
occupations, Unemployed and
lowest grade occupations). This is
because our film is a urban fiction
and trying to share potential
similar experiences with the
audience. Therefore we feel it is
more likely that people in C2 &
DE social classes will be our main
target audience.
Straight Outta Compton below has a similar
target audience to what ours will be for our film.
Where nearly half of the viewers will be in the
15-24 age range. Our film will be more split half
and half of viewers of boys and girls, whereas
SOC is much more male viewer based. Then
with the social class is similar to what ours will be
like as it's mainly split between C1 (Supervisory,
clerical & junior managerial, administrative,
professional occupations), C2 & DE, which
again is similar to the target audience we are
aiming.
6. Poster layout ideas:
• Our poster is going to feature our brand
identity which our main character,
focusing ona particular shot from the
teaser trailer. At the moment our idea is
to use our beginning shot of the teaser
trailer (the girl waking up in the field,
looking rough) as our brand identity
and therefore the main image for
poster.
7. Real Media products
We used ideas for our
main character based
on Effy from (TV Series)
Skins. The way she is
portrayed supports the
idea of the teenage
party life.
