Rhiannah Baker evaluated her production process for an FMP animation. Her research focused on animation styles, colors, and music that would appeal to her target audience. She created mood boards and planned color schemes and fonts. While she created a schedule, technical issues prevented her from adding planned sound. Both her animation and examples she researched used similar colors and a black background with bold white text and titles. Peer feedback noted the animated paddle, suggested making it longer with more levels and slower pace, and adding music, sound effects, and scoring. Rhiannah agreed with the feedback and plans to implement suggestions in future versions.
3. Research
• I got Ideas of animation styles and colours, and what will appeal to my
audience.
• I listened to various sounds and music basing it on other games, making
sure to choose the right one
• My layout is simple, like many other games, this appeals to my target
audience.
• However, I researched very similar games, meaning my research is not as
diverse as it could be
4. Planning
• I started off creating a mood board
containing images and themes from my chosen
genre.
• I decided on what fonts, and what colour scheme I was going
to use.
5. Time Management
• Even though I created a schedule, not everything went to plan.
• For example, I originally planned to add sound, however due to technical
issues that was not possible for me to do.
6. Technical Qualities
Both my game and the
existing game both contain
the same colours, and using
black as their main
background colours.
Both use bold white text,
and a title screen.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
The alignment of the blocks is very orderly and works well when the ball
moves.
The paddle is animated as if a person was actually playing it.
The bright primary colours stand out from the black background.
8. Audience Appeal
I used many colours to appeal to both male and females.
I also copied the idea from many classic games such as space
invaders, it is simple yet affective .
