2. Process
• For the first part of my FMP I
am going to make a trailer for
a game I will review in a
magazine which will be the
other element of my FMP.
• I have gathered footage by
playing and recording the
game at home, I have made
two separate files as you can
see in the top left, I have also
downloaded some selected
tracks, as you can see below
the footage files.
3. Process
• I have now added all of my
audio and video files, I will
now watch them, take clips
out I don’t need and
eventually edit all the clips
and audio together to make
my trailer.
4. Process
• After watching the video
back, I have now adjusted to
the audio and moved it
around to fit with each clip, I
have also made the sure the
audio is at a good level as to
not be too loud or quiet for
any viewer.
5. Process
• For the second part of my
FMP I will be making a
magazine cover, context page
and double page. The double
page will include a review of
the game RIME, it is also the
same game I have made a
trailer for.
• This is the front cover for the
magazine, from looking at
existing magazine covers
about this game there isn’t
much on them, therefore I
have stuck to that formula as
it seems to work.
6. Process
• I have now made the
contents page for my
magazine. On my contents
page I have advertised other
reviews of games that were
all released in the same
month as RIME, as if the
magazine was released in the
same month of the game
coming out.
7. Process
• I have now created my
double page spread for my
magazine, this is where my
review for the game is
included, along with some
explanation about the game,
the studio that developed it
and their history.
• For the text to go over I
created a box where I added
a gradient of two shades of
blue that the game
commonly uses as it sticks
with the games colour
scheme.
8. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include
in your final product?
– When I make my final trailer I will stick with most of the methods I have used to
make my experiment trailer. For example I will use the tracks I downloaded for
the soundtrack of my trailer as I think they work really well.
– When making my magazine cover I will use a similar image and colour scheme
as it works really well as it is bold and eye catching. The game’s colours are also
quite neutral therefore I can attract both genders that play video games
towards my magazine.
– When making my contents page I will make a collage background of images
from the game as I did with my experiment, I will do this because when I looked
at existing contents pages a collage of images was always included.
– When making my double page spread I will stick with the same colour scheme
as it is the games colour scheme, I will also use a gradient box for the text as it
makes the text easier to read.
