My Brother's Gameboy Essay
As a child the things that meant the most to me were shiny, colorful, and utterly unattainable. From a young age I
was taught that taking what was not yours without asking was unbelievably wrong and would result in a never
ending timeout. Fearing an eternity spent sat in a corner "thinking about what I had just done" I made an early habit
of asking for things I wanted and forgetting about the things I could not have. Unfortunately this lifestyle could
only last so long and so at only four years old the temptation became too much and I had convinced myself that the
only solution was to take what was not given to me. The year was 2001 and my older brother had recently been
given a brand new GameBoy Advanced. This incredible technological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Confused I exclaimed " You died. It's my turn!" to which Joey quickly retorted " I did not! They just fainted there is
no death in this game. You don't get a turn." Stunned, a feeling mixed between betrayal and disappointment washed
over me. I had asked nicely and yet I was denied the chance to play. Unsure of what to do with myself now that I
was not allowed to have the one thing I desired I found my way to my room. Needing a place to think I rolled
under my bed and let the emotions settle in. Disappointment won out as the more overwhelming emotion and I
began to plot a way to take what I felt was rightfully mine. I soon realized that I had no real idea of how to enact
my plan and became more frustrated. I knew I needed a second opinion and intended to speak to Lucky when I
realized that in my fit of despair I had left him behind. I decided that a rescue mission was in order and climbed out
from under my bed. Sneaking through the house I reached my brother's room and was shocked to find only Lucky
there. I raced over lifting him from the bed and hugging him close knowing he was once again safe. I turned to
leave but right before I could I noticed a faint noise coming from within the blankets. Lifting them I found true
temptation. There sat Joey's GameBoy taunting me as I stared in wonderment. It dawned on me that I could just go
back to my room and find a different way to get the chance to play but with no one in sight I decided that taking it

Stereotypes Stereotypes are generalizations and overgeneralizations about the member of a group; sometimes being
positive, more often negative, having a resistance to change (Ziebarth, 2009). "The Disney organization does not
create the stereotypes, they simply reflect them" (What about Women in Disney Movies?, 2008). Disney movies,
however, are filled with stereotypes, ranging from social stereotypes to racial stereotypes. Although Disney movies
are filled with an abundant amount of different stereotypes, the most common stereotypes seen in Disney movies
are gender stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are when a group is generalized based on gender (female or male). In
Disney movies the most common area to see gender stereotyping is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Racial profiling is common within the Disney films. Where it is most commonly seen is within movies where two
races are mixing, such as in the movie Pocahontas. Disney is not necessarily discriminating against a race through
film, but Disney is making a point of portraying race and culture through film incorrectly based on stereotypes.
Aladdin is an original Disney movie which brought racial profiling into question. Simply starting with the names of
the characters brings question about race into view. The two most questioned names were Aladdin and Jafaar,
names which were supposed to symbolize the poor Middle Eastern culture, are names that originally originate from
Russia. Also, since this movie was supposed to be in a Middle Eastern city, the characters all had a dark
complexion. The dark complexion was correct on Disney's part; however, what was incorrect was that all the facial
features were European. By having the incorrect facial features with the dark skin tone it teaches children that they
can sort people by race solely on a person's skin color. Aladdin was portrayed as simply a "white man was a dark
tan" (Disney's Protrayal of Culture and Race in Film, 2009). Another Disney film which had racial profiling in it is
The Lion King. In The Lion King, white actors played the voices along with African American actors. The fact that
Disney had an interracial cast was good, but the white voices played the "good guys" and the African American
voices were

Review Of ' Degikup Basket By Louisa Keyser
Firstly, the craftwork that I would like to review is called Degikup Basket by Louisa Keyser. The artist was also
known as Datsolalee who was a Washoe Native American basket maker. Degikup Basket is basically a large basket
that consist small flat base but wider in the middle and then same diameter as base for the hole at the top. In other
words, the craft produced is almost similar to a bird nest which has the concave side and smaller top. Moreover, the
craft work get the people attention after it has been documented by Keyser's sponsor who sees the art talent that she
had. Apart from that, the interesting part about the basket is it is created through a weaving process by hands which
suggest that it is carefully produced. It could be seen that the influence on the conception of this craftwork are
based on Keyser's living place. The exterior of the craftwork is likely to store a traditional value and symbolize her
community custom. The simplicity portrayed by the design indicates its friendly function as it serves either as a
place to keep miscellaneous items or acts as a collection to the people. In addition, the craftwork also could be
considered as unique due to its abstract design. Since Keyser is from Washoe Indian tribe in Nevada, the materials
she used to weave the basket are easily obtained in the nature. The basket is constructed using three different things
which are willow, Redbud and bracken fern root. The important material is the willow because it is the

Burj Khalifa And The Tallest Building
Burj Khalifa
Intro
The future has met the present in the Burj Khalifa, which stands today as the tallest building ever built, standing at
around 830 metres (2,700 ft) tall. From the top of the Burj Khalifa's 160 floors, one can see a circumference
distance of about 855 kilometres (550 miles). When compared, the highest observational deck of the Empire State
Building in New York City, once the tallest building in the world, developed a circumferential view of about 320
km. The 460,000 square meter structure contains residential, hotel, commercial, office, entertainment, shopping,
leisure, and parking facilities. With accurate and sophisticated panning, engineers construct and built this larger
than life structure in a really short time involving some of the latest construction methods of this era. The concepts
used for the Burj Khalifa's foundation construction, overall structural design, wind engineering, and construction
planning have revolutionised high rise construction.
The goal of the Burj Khalifa is not to be the world's highest building, it's to express the world's highest aspirations.
The superstructure has reached over 165 stories. the final height of the building is 2,717 feet (828 metres). The
height of the multi use skyscraper has "comfortably" exceed the previous record holder, the 509 metre (1671 ft) tall
Taipei 101.

Same Face Syndrome
Back when Disney's Frozen hit theatres in 2013 the character designs sparked up arguments in the animation buff
community. Mainly focused on the faces of the two main characters, Elsa and Anna, and how uncannily similar
they are compared to Rapunzel from Tangled (2010). People argued back and forth over how it was "just Disney's
style" against "They're carbon copies of each other!" A tumblr user under the alias of turbomun, real name Gianna,
took the chance to post about the difference between "Same Face Syndrome" and stylization. In Gianna's post,
titled "Sameface [sic] Syndrome and Other Stories," the very first thing she does is let you know how easy it is for
someone to fall into Same Face Syndrome. In the very first sentence she introduces herself as a student of the arts,
just as many of her fellow bloggers are or aspire to be. By flat out saying she has experienced this phenomenon
herself the reader automatically believes that she understands what it is like to draw characters with the same face.
She understands how easy it is to not realize that each female character is essentially ... Show more content on

She uses a well known (to animators and animation enthusiasts at least) test, the silhouette test which shows how
not changing the shape of the face could make characters impossible to distinguish from one another. "For this
reason, differentiating your characters only through surface details, like hair style/color, eye color, freckles,
clothing (to an extent), and yes, even faces – especially faces – is frowned upon, at least in western–style
animation." She even goes and pulls up original character designs for Elsa and Anna, the two characters that lit the
match in the first place, and show how much they changed from their original design into "the Rapunzel

Cruella De Vil Research Paper
The most horrifying villain i've read about is Cruella De Vil. Nobody else in the entire atmosphere measures up to
her level of evil. Cruella De Vil is a character from the Disney animated movie "One Hundred and One
Dalmatians". She is one of the most evil women on Earth. She collects fur coats that she wears, killing innocent
animals to do it. In her latest scheme, she kidnaps 99 dalmatian puppies in order to make herself a dalmatian fur
coat. The coat isn't even in style, and she could just wait until the dogs die to take their fur. She is the devils best
friend, or worse, commander! The woman is so vicious her name even has cruel in it. Therefor she is known for
what she is, cruel! Puppies are one of the most harmless animals in the world, why would someone kill them for a
coat that isn't even cute? She's ruthless and crazy and someone needs to imprison her before the wipes away the
entire dog population. Cruella De Vil is beyond powerful she'll stop at nothing to get what she wants! Her schemes
are also difficult to invent, therefore to find them she must be intelligent and extremely evil to brainstorm them up.
The absolute worst part about my villain is how she strongly believes she is the hero in the situation! On the other
hand, she does have a majority of the same powers as the hero, she just uses them in the wrong way. ... Show more

The Burj Khalifa And The Tallest Building
The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, and has been since 2009. It is a work place and a home to
many people in Dubai. It was formally known as the Burj Dubai but was changed in recognition to Sheik Khalifa
who paid for the majority of the building's construction. The Burj Khalifa is located in Dubai, United Arab
Emirates. The building cost 1.5 billion dollars to build. Construction started on January 6th, 2004 and ended on
December 31st, 2009. But 1,325 days after construction started it was already the tallest freestanding structure in
the world. At the peak of construction, 12,000 workers worked on the building per day. Only three workers died in
the process. The building then opened on January 4th, 2010.
The first skyscrapers were built between 1884–1939. Chicago's Home Insurance Building which opened in 1884
was considered the world's first skyscraper. It was 138 feet tall. In 1892 Chicago stopped building skyscrapers
taller than 150 feet tall. This allowed New York to start developing taller buildings. The economic boom of the
1920's led to the building of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building. As the Great Depression hit, the
building of skyscrapers stopped. Since the end of the Great Depression buildings have become taller and taller until
we get to the Burj Khalifa at 2,722 feet. The Burj Khalifa is made of glass, steel, aluminum, and reinforced
concrete. So much rebar (a steel, reinforcing rod of concrete) was used in the

Chicken Run: An Allusion To The Holocaust
As much as we love our childhood movies, there is always more to them than "happily ever after." We are digging
up the dirt on four of your (possibly) favorite childhood movies and bringing you their real stories. Beware of
childhood ruining moments or mind blowing realizations. Chicken Run If you've seen Chicken Run, you
understand why the chickens had to run, but after reading this you'll be rooting for those chickens for a different
reason. Turns out Chicken Run is an allusion to the Holocaust. Here is how the plot aligns. First, we meet the
chickens in their little "Chicken Camps" AKA concentration camps. The chickens are essentially a representation
of Jews. Originally, Hitler's plan was to force work on the Jews until they were unable to work and were eventually
killed. In Chicken Run, the original plan was that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The original tale is written by Hans Christian Anderson. Disney's version could be called a complete 180 from the
original. There are some small parts that align, like her saving the prince and falling for him and visiting the sea
witch who takes her tongue (voice) for her legs. The deal remains the same: the mermaid can only stay human if
the prince falls in love with her and marries her. However, the penalty is far more severe, she will die if she fails.
There is also an unfortunate penalty to have legs: every single step she takes on land will feel like she is walking on
sharp glass. On the other hand in the Disney movie the prince ends up with another girl (in the story, they do get
married and it's not the sea witch). She is given one option left to return to the sea. If she kills the prince, she can
keep her life and gets to be a mermaid again. I'd say that's a win–win. Of course, it isn't for her, she loves the prince
so much that she can't go through with it. The mermaid throws herself in the sea and turns into sea foam. At least
she was faithful till the

Walter Disney Accomplishments
Walter Elias Disney once said "If you can dream it, you can do it." This is his most famous quote. He never gave up
on anything, which is mostly why everything he has done is amazing. Walter Disney's most important
accomplishments in life are impacting mass media, creating all of the Disney companies, and showing society what
imagination is. Walter Disney has made such a big impact on how animators make animation and movies. Walter
Disney is the person behind the inspiration for many of the movie ideas today. Walter Disney has changed the way
people made movies. According to Taylor, a disney insider, author, "animation is synonymous with Disney (and
vice versa), with each of these new innovations"(1,2). He made it so instead of making

Where to Visit in Taiwan

Taiwan, Formerly called the Island of 'Formosa' (Portuguese for 'beautiful'), Taiwan is relatively small country of
over 23 million people, and there are several parts north, west, south and east. The capitol city, Taipei, is at the
north; the crowd is always a charming part of the city. You can always see people. Taipei has established its
reputation as a gourmet's paradise; it is also home to new boutique hotels and trendy bars. Also Taipei 101 was
once the world's tallest building in 2004. Also, on roads the traffic is always safe, even though scooters drive
alongside each other. Buses, taxis and MRT are used by people day by day. However, the city has some similarities
to other big cities around the world, pressure and rush hours. On the other hand, Taipei is developing itself into a
more technological and environmentally friendly city, with the architectures, buildings, city planning program to
the tech world of Taiwan, they are constantly improving; the country has also brought together a diverse group of
people, the sceneries and sporting activities and festivals are truly exciting and unique too. Also, the food in Taiwan
is the most varied on earth. So a trip to Taiwan will be unforgettable.

The Construction Of 1km Tall Kingdom Tower Of Jeddah,...
Executive Summary
Skyscrapers are continuously increasing in height as new technologies provide solutions to unique problems that
arise as a building grows. Technological advances have given rise to categories of towers such as 'super talls'
(defined as buildings of over 300 metres) and 'mega talls' (over 600 metres). The tallest building currently is the
Burj Khalifa at 829.8m (Schmidt, 2013) however this will not be the case for long, as the construction of 1km tall
Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is already underway.
With the world's natural resources in extremely short supply, it is of incredibly high importance that we use them in
the most efficient way possible, therefore significant consideration must be given to how we use them, whether this
be for huge towers or otherwise.
On top of the issue above, there is an annual increase in population of nearly 76,000,000 (Worldometers.info, 2016)
and the world's urban population is also on the increase; expected to be at 70% of the planet's population by 2050
(Berg, 2016).
The next milestone height to be reached by a building is one mile. It is suggested the we certainly could build as
high as this (Berg, 2016), but whether we should is a bit more difficult to answer.
In this report, I aim to assess the benefits, drawbacks and design considerations of these enormous structures before
providing an opinion on whether I believe they should or should not be built.

In some of the Disney films, people argue if the men are portrayed as weak due to their vulnerability; however,
showing vulnerability illustrates that not everyone is perfect. This exemplifies a stronger apprehension for a more
encouraging and sympathetic environment for young children to grow up in. Walt Disney wanted his characters to
send a message to teach children to express their personal feelings and be proud of where they came from. In the
film Snow White, she holds strong qualities that symbolizes self–determination. In the film, Snow White gets lost
in the woods after she found out that her step mom wanted her dead due to her beauty. In order to survive, she had
to fight by herself before the dwarfs saved her. Another influential character that Walt Disney created was
Cinderella, due to her strong willpower. Cinderella went through many struggles with her abusive family, she was
able to fight through and overcome the challenges which led to her success. In most of Disney films, the characters
become friends with animals that help guide through obstacles. The animals give advice and motivation along the
way ("Ecommons"). Other than influencing children through their actions and personalities, Walt Disney also
created characters that represent body positivity. For example, the character Mulan represents body positivity by
being a strong athletic woman compared to other women in her society. Mulan wouldnt accept the fact that since
she was a woman, she was not able to do what men were capable of doing

Cold concrete floors. Metal fences for walls. Fed once, maybe twice, a day. Constant noise. This is the reality of

get wire cages. Shelters are running out of room. We have too many animals, plain and simple. And do you realize
what many shelters have to resort to for this population problem? Euthanization. Those "kill shelters" that everyone
boycotts, they only exist because we have too many stray animals. There are so many pitbulls, mutts, and mixes,
that they outnumber the people that actually want them. Some measures have been put into place to help decrease

Actually about 1 or 2 % of the population were pitbull types, but it's too complicated to confirm the pedigree of a
pitbull, so they weren't a very big factor in the experiment. I know you wanna get that cute new puppy, breed of
your choice. Trust me, I know. I got a black boxer puppy last summer and it was the best thing ever. It was a new
tiny thing when we had our grad party, so anytime there was the distant relative you didn't know that asked you the
1000th question about college, you just said "oh I got a new puppy!" and they left to go pet it. It was wonderful, oh
the little squishy face. Trust me, I get the wanting a puppy, with the squishy face, or whatever your heart desires.
But has anyone ever owned a purebred? The downside of purebreds is some breeds are predisposed to certain
disorders. Like for boxers, it's tumors, often malignant (cancerous). Or how dalmatians can sometimes be deaf. It's
actually fairly uncommon for a dalmatian to have complete hearing in both ears, I think it's like a 1 in 4 chance. It's
actually from the explosion of breeding needed after the 101 Dalmatians movie came out, fun fact. Anyway, my
point is that purebreds often have disorders already in their genes. There's this guy, Bellumori, who studied the
lifespans of 27–28 thousands dogs for over a decade. Pure breeds and mixed breeds. He worked with some DVMs
for a piece in one of American Veterinary Medical Association's monthly medical journals in June of 2013. So this
guy tracked the occurrence of 24 different disorders in the course of 15 years. Everything from cardiac disorders, to
epilepsy. Cancers to allergies. Of these 24, 10 of them didn't have any correlation between mix and pure. Thirteen
of them, were more prevalent in purebreds. There was only one disorder that was more common in mixes, and that
was ligament rupture. And

Out of these four jobs, only one would be reasonable as a job, which not many women can achieve. When looking
at in home employment they found an example of 24 women in domestic tasks (Towbin et al 2003). Disney movies
portray that women should be domestic workers, they should not have careers outside of the house. Research has
analyzed the movie Pocahontas we can see that there is conflicting ideas of gender roles. Pocahontas is seen as a
strong female character throughout most of the movie until the end where she falls stereotypic female role, as she
decided to stay with her community because she is needed there, the film makes it seem as if she is staying with her
community out of duty (Towbin et al 2003). If the film had made her choice more of her choice instead of a out of
duty she could have still be portrayed as a strong women and not a stereotype. There has not been much research
done on individual Disney princess movies, but recent studies have taken the movies by year and dissect the
movies to see how much masculinity and femininity are in the movies. The results confirmed that the three Disney
princess movies created between 1930 and 1950 depicted more gendered attributes for both the princesses and the
princes, they displayed more traditional stereotype gender roles than the five movies produced in and after the
1980s (England, Descartes and Collier–Meek 2011). The princesses in these movies portray

What Is The 101 Damatian Dogs Essay
Once upon a time, a Disney film called "101 Dalmatians" was released in the early 90's, and it triggered the
demand of these black and white spotted dogs. Kids nagged their parents to buy them one. Sure enough, the parents
gave in, and were said to be "in total panic to acquire these puppies," according to an article by Mireya Navarro on
the New York Times.
What makes these dogs special, aside from their spots, of course? Let's get to know more about these dogs.
Basic facts
The Dalmatian is a medium–sized dog with a sleek, muscular body and a graceful appeal. Males reach around 23
inches tall, while females reach about 22 inches. They weigh an average of 45 to 60 pounds (or 20 to 27
kilograms). They live an average lifespan of 10 to 12 years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Leslie Isom, a spokeswoman with the Humane Society of the United States, said it was "exactly what [they] had
feared." She adds, " ''What we're trying to get across is that Dalmatians require a tremendous amount of time and

Personal Narrative: 101 Dalmatian Dog
Dear Magna, Utah, how much your basement frightened me. This was the first, and last, house my parents owned
together. I have so many fond memories living in this house. During this time, my family raised Dalmatian dogs.
The movie 101 Dalmatians also came out, so our pure–bread puppies were very popular. My dog, the male, I
named Patch. I picked him out of the litter when he was a puppy, and raised him for years. Patch was the first dog
who ever bit me. It was completely my fault, and I remember my dad beating the dog. My dad had cooked a huge
bone, and had given it to the dog. As he was eating the flesh off the bone, I had walked over and tried to pet his
head. The dog misinterpreted my movements, thought I was going to take the bone, and ... Show more content on

One mid–December night in Utah. During one of the worst snow storm that I can remember. I was thirteen, not
much help to my mother who was 8 months pregnant with my little brother. I remember being astonished, at the
efficiently the Mormon Church had, in rounded up so many members who owned trucks. My mom didn't have to
rent one. The men moved our entire home during that blizzard with no complaints in one trip. They even brought
the heavy furniture up the stairs, both flights. Up went my mom's waterbed, her dresser, the entertainment center,
and I helped by moving boxes. My bedroom was finished downstairs for me. We added a wall, and a closet
downstairs to partition my bedroom from the laundry room. The best part was that my bedroom did not have a
window. My bedroom downstairs, wan an entire floor removed from my mother's bedroom up on the third floor,
which made it easy for me to quietly walk out the back door as I pleased. I purchased my first car, had my first real
girlfriend, and got arrested for the first time from this house. It was a huge fight for me to finish high school, and
had I not ended up getting into trouble, I might not have graduated. There is always a silver lining to the tragedy in
my life. My mom had finally had enough of me, and honestly, I don't blame her. She sent me on my way. It was

My Summer Vacation
My Summer in Chicago
I couldn't help but to feel anxious and excited. It was my first time being in such a vast city and I couldn't wait to
explore it. The time was near the end of July, this is when my dad usually enjoys taking our summer vacations,
primarily outside of our state to somewhere else new and exciting. That summer my dad decided to take a week
long road trip and visit, Wisconsin Dells, Chicago, St. Louis, and Madison. My dad said he wanted to show my
sisters and I all the adventures he did in Chicago when he was my age. I had felt joyful about the trip, I could not
wait to see all the buildings and walk down the Navy Pier. To tell the truth, I was more excited to visit Chicago a

A few days before the trip, my dad, my sister Nina, and I, had done some research and added up the cost of the trip
and looked for hotels and restaurants to visit during the time we were there and on our road trip. After about an
hour of research on Chicago, we had our plan of what to do for our time in Chicago. That night, It was difficult to

Alcohol And Tobacco Use In Disney Movies
As a child, I watched several Disney movies over and over, and as I have entered college and taken women's
studies classes, I began to start questioning the influences Disney movies may have on children. Without knowing
it, we are constantly being sent messages in society, including television and movies, like Disney movies. Disney
movies are often shown to children at a young age and almost always, results in children watching these movies
over and over. Disney films have several underlying messages that are often unconscious, but exposing children to
these messages can lead children making unconscious connections and form stereotypes constructed on the movies
they are exposed to. The purpose of this paper is to discuss under what conditions (if any), children should be
shown Disney movies. First, I will summarize main points and findings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These instances expose children to harmful substances in a comical fashion with zero explanations of the harmful
effects associated with the drug use. The Disney movies that portray these instances are older, but still, have the
potential of being watched several times by children. For instance, Beauty and the Beast had 116 exposures of
alcohol in the film and 101 Dalmatians had 21 instances of tobacco use. It is difficult to say that Disney movies
lead to children trying alcohol and tobacco, but this is one example where these Disney films should be talked to
with kids and explain the harmful effects of the substances children are being exposed to. I remember 101
Dalmatians having a lot of smoking references and wonder if these exposures have any impacts on the decision
people make. These films are still important to discuss with children especially if it is an older Disney movie and a
lot of alcohol or tobacco exposures occur in a film, so the child can begin to understand the negative consequences
of those actions from a younger

Burj Khalif An Embodiment Of Islamic Architecture
Burj Khalifa is the largest "megatall" skyscraper in the world, standing at an astounding 828 meters (2716.5 feet). It
serves as the centerpiece for downtown Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up its country, and was
designed by Adrian Smith, then representing Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It was under construction from January
of 2004, until December of 2009, finally opening its doors on January 4th of 2010. The building is an embodiment
of Islamic architecture, incorporating both cultural and historical elements of the region into the visage of the
building. This style was chosen very deliberately, meant to enrich the, at the time, recently developed downtown
Dubai. The building has since received widespread international attention for various reasons. Some laud the
records that the building shattered and the many awards it has received, while others commend the manner in
which it has elevated the city of Dubai.
The Dubai government decided to build the Burj Khalifa as a way to diversify their economic portfolio. Their
economy had long been based solely on oil and they decided that they wanted to generate more interest and
international recognition for Dubai, thus increasing tourism and overall improving the emirate's economy. The
skyscraper served its purpose and drew a lot of additional interest towards Dubai, receiving many awards. For
example, the Burj Khalifa is recognized as the tallest existing, or ever built, free standing structure. It is also the

How Does Walt Disney Affect Society
Walt Disney effected most Americans, weather during his lifetime or after. He engaged audiences of all ages with
his creations. The public adored Mickey Mouse debut in 1928s Steamboat Willie. Walt continued off this
sensational hit with Silly Symphonies in 1929. Silly Symphonies does no only feature Mickey, but Minnie Mouse,
Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. He also took part in World War II by making cartoons. One of these cartoons was
Der Fuehrer's Face, where we see Donald Duck dream of being in a world controlled by Nazis. He starts off his day
by saying Hail Hitler and eating a less than adequate breakfast then going to work in a heavily guarded factory. Der
Fuehrer's Face won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Subject in 1943. Mr. Disney also created training
films for the army. One of these training films is Stop that Tank! Where it demonstrates how to use the Anti–Tank
Rifle in an amusing fashion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a humongous success, winning eight Oscars despite the dilemma the country was in. Five years after Snow White's
premiere he release four more classical films which were Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi. After a major

Analysis of Disney Films Essay examples
Analysis of Disney Films Before starting this essay, I researched several different Disney Films; Snow White,
Aladdin, Hercules, Mulan, 101 Dalmatians and The Lion King the last two of which I'm going to analyse in more
detail. The term "representation" means the act of communicating by using symbols to stand for things, throughout
the essay I intend to see how Disney represents their binary opposites. Binary opposites are opposites, like good
and bad. Levi Strauss believed that all narratives are made up of opposites he called these opposites binary
opposites. 101 Dalmatians ============== The initial impression the audience have of Pongo and ... Show

She wears a white coat which could mean she is trying to make the audience think she is good. Cruella then opens
her coat to disclose a lot of red and black; features such as her hips, feet and face are pointed, emphasising a scary
image; these are the conventions of a villain. She is sarcastic and her laugh is evil, she even walks like a villain,
very upright and proud. There are lots of binary opposites between Roger and Anita to Cruella De Vil, for example,
Roger and Anita are helping Perdy give birth, so they are bring life into the world but Cruella wants to take life out
of the world by killing the puppies for their fur. Cruella has two sidekicks, Horris and Jasper, these are villains too,
physically, they are out of proportion and we first see them in the dark. Although Cruella, Horris and Jasper work
together, they aren't really friends, Cruella uses them to do her work. Roger, Anita, Pongo and Perdy do things to
help each other, they are in unity. This is another binary opposite. Perdy and Pongo have lots of dog friends across
London, who later in the film helps them out, Cruella has no friends. Roger and Anita's Home

The Most Magical Place On Earth
"The Most Magical Place on Earth", this title has been used for Disney World for over forty years. What makes this
park so magical? Why are people so happy when they arrive? Disney World catches the attention of children, but
why do adults enjoy it? Some would say Disney World is overrated, but this park is one of the most popular

major theme parks, the rides, and the activities. As time goes by, Disney World continues to grow in size much

Benjamin Barker's Transformation In Sweeny Todd
When considering the character Benjamin Barker "Sweeny Todd", there is a transformation in costuming from an
innocent man to vengeful protagonist. At the start of the show he is dressed in depressing black color, with his hair
as black can be. There is no white stripe in his hair which in my own interpretation makes me think of Cruella
Deville from 101 Dalmatians, especially as he projects his anger through song. His voice contains such passion and
rage, with a deep echo that the audience couldn't ever forget. He appears as a sailor with torn clothes, all of which
are deep in color and symbolizes hated and despair. Also, the colors used give a sense of power, evil, mystery and
fear, and that's only his attire from the scene on the boat. When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Global Population Of The United Nations Essay
The United Nations estimates that by 2076, the global population will be nearly 11 billion people. Currently, the
global population is slightly below 7.5 billion people, which means that in 60 years the amount of people on the
Earth will increase by roughly 3.5 billion people. Living accommodations will have to change for this large
increase in population, resulting in smaller and more cramped homes. Large cities will have to not only build more
apartment complexes, but also build them taller in order to accommodate more people. At this point in time, the
technology is not available to allow an extra 3.5 billion people adequate living conditions. However, the future
generations will be able to advance technology enough to figure out a solution. Moore's Law observes that every
two years, the number of transistors in an integrated circuit doubles. In simpler terms, it says that the processing
power for computers doubles every two years. This indicates that the future holds many technological
advancements, and sixty years from now the technology used in homes will be drastically more advanced than the
technology used in homes today. As a result, all 11 billion people will be able to live comfortably. The home of the
future will look much different than the homes of today. It will be able to perform many more tasks and will be
much more than just a building that a person owns and sleeps in. Right now, both the population in cities and the
property prices in cities keep

A Short Story Of The Burj Khalif A Story?
Finally, we were here. Leaning out, I stepped out of the car. The heat hit me like a bullet. This was expected

multiple towering skyscrapers piercing the clouds like a mighty sword. Followed by my family, I grabbed Ash's

Entering the building, we all sighed in relief as the cold air in the building engulfed us like a cozy blanket. Standing

"I'm so excited! I can't wait to go bungee–jumping when we reach there!", I said, turning around to face Ash.

help Arthur become king and help him complete the prophecy that he foretold. Unlike most of the legends I have
heard, Merlin was a mystery in those legends. Nobody knew his backstory, or where he came from. In part one, the
book explains Merlin's early life. (This was something I truly liked about the book because this was the first time I

Impossible: Ghost Protocol", the story essentials are similar. Story essentials consist of Character, Setting, Plot,
Conflict, Resolution. The plot of the movie Kingsman is nearly identical to the movie Mission Impossible. In both
movies, the organization that the movie is about are both compromised resulting in damages, which has never
happened in the history of the respective organization. Both organizations are compromised by someone who used
to work with the respective organizations. In terms of plot, I think that "Mission Impossible" has a better plot than
Kingsman. This is because, in Kingsman, there is a connection between the first Kingsman movie and the second
one. This will result in

  • 3. My Brother's Gameboy Essay As a child the things that meant the most to me were shiny, colorful, and utterly unattainable. From a young age I was taught that taking what was not yours without asking was unbelievably wrong and would result in a never ending timeout. Fearing an eternity spent sat in a corner "thinking about what I had just done" I made an early habit of asking for things I wanted and forgetting about the things I could not have. Unfortunately this lifestyle could only last so long and so at only four years old the temptation became too much and I had convinced myself that the only solution was to take what was not given to me. The year was 2001 and my older brother had recently been given a brand new GameBoy Advanced. This incredible technological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Confused I exclaimed " You died. It's my turn!" to which Joey quickly retorted " I did not! They just fainted there is no death in this game. You don't get a turn." Stunned, a feeling mixed between betrayal and disappointment washed over me. I had asked nicely and yet I was denied the chance to play. Unsure of what to do with myself now that I was not allowed to have the one thing I desired I found my way to my room. Needing a place to think I rolled under my bed and let the emotions settle in. Disappointment won out as the more overwhelming emotion and I began to plot a way to take what I felt was rightfully mine. I soon realized that I had no real idea of how to enact my plan and became more frustrated. I knew I needed a second opinion and intended to speak to Lucky when I realized that in my fit of despair I had left him behind. I decided that a rescue mission was in order and climbed out from under my bed. Sneaking through the house I reached my brother's room and was shocked to find only Lucky there. I raced over lifting him from the bed and hugging him close knowing he was once again safe. I turned to leave but right before I could I noticed a faint noise coming from within the blankets. Lifting them I found true temptation. There sat Joey's GameBoy taunting me as I stared in wonderment. It dawned on me that I could just go back to my room and find a different way to get the chance to play but with no one in sight I decided that taking it now ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. disney movies Stereotypes Stereotypes are generalizations and overgeneralizations about the member of a group; sometimes being positive, more often negative, having a resistance to change (Ziebarth, 2009). "The Disney organization does not create the stereotypes, they simply reflect them" (What about Women in Disney Movies?, 2008). Disney movies, however, are filled with stereotypes, ranging from social stereotypes to racial stereotypes. Although Disney movies are filled with an abundant amount of different stereotypes, the most common stereotypes seen in Disney movies are gender stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are when a group is generalized based on gender (female or male). In Disney movies the most common area to see gender stereotyping is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Racial profiling is common within the Disney films. Where it is most commonly seen is within movies where two races are mixing, such as in the movie Pocahontas. Disney is not necessarily discriminating against a race through film, but Disney is making a point of portraying race and culture through film incorrectly based on stereotypes. Aladdin is an original Disney movie which brought racial profiling into question. Simply starting with the names of the characters brings question about race into view. The two most questioned names were Aladdin and Jafaar, names which were supposed to symbolize the poor Middle Eastern culture, are names that originally originate from Russia. Also, since this movie was supposed to be in a Middle Eastern city, the characters all had a dark complexion. The dark complexion was correct on Disney's part; however, what was incorrect was that all the facial features were European. By having the incorrect facial features with the dark skin tone it teaches children that they can sort people by race solely on a person's skin color. Aladdin was portrayed as simply a "white man was a dark tan" (Disney's Protrayal of Culture and Race in Film, 2009). Another Disney film which had racial profiling in it is The Lion King. In The Lion King, white actors played the voices along with African American actors. The fact that Disney had an interracial cast was good, but the white voices played the "good guys" and the African American voices were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Review Of ' Degikup Basket By Louisa Keyser Firstly, the craftwork that I would like to review is called Degikup Basket by Louisa Keyser. The artist was also known as Datsolalee who was a Washoe Native American basket maker. Degikup Basket is basically a large basket that consist small flat base but wider in the middle and then same diameter as base for the hole at the top. In other words, the craft produced is almost similar to a bird nest which has the concave side and smaller top. Moreover, the craft work get the people attention after it has been documented by Keyser's sponsor who sees the art talent that she had. Apart from that, the interesting part about the basket is it is created through a weaving process by hands which suggest that it is carefully produced. It could be seen that the influence on the conception of this craftwork are based on Keyser's living place. The exterior of the craftwork is likely to store a traditional value and symbolize her community custom. The simplicity portrayed by the design indicates its friendly function as it serves either as a place to keep miscellaneous items or acts as a collection to the people. In addition, the craftwork also could be considered as unique due to its abstract design. Since Keyser is from Washoe Indian tribe in Nevada, the materials she used to weave the basket are easily obtained in the nature. The basket is constructed using three different things which are willow, Redbud and bracken fern root. The important material is the willow because it is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the top of the Burj Khalifa's 160 floors, one can see a circumference distance of about 855 kilometres (550 miles). When compared, the highest observational deck of the Empire State Building in New York City, once the tallest building in the world, developed a circumferential view of about 320 km. The 460,000 square meter structure contains residential, hotel, commercial, office, entertainment, shopping, leisure, and parking facilities. With accurate and sophisticated panning, engineers construct and built this larger than life structure in a really short time involving some of the latest construction methods of this era. The concepts used for the Burj Khalifa's foundation construction, overall structural design, wind engineering, and construction planning have revolutionised high rise construction. The goal of the Burj Khalifa is not to be the world's highest building, it's to express the world's highest aspirations. The superstructure has reached over 165 stories. the final height of the building is 2,717 feet (828 metres). • 13. Same Face Syndrome Back when Disney's Frozen hit theatres in 2013 the character designs sparked up arguments in the animation buff community. Mainly focused on the faces of the two main characters, Elsa and Anna, and how uncannily similar they are compared to Rapunzel from Tangled (2010). People argued back and forth over how it was "just Disney's style" against "They're carbon copies of each other!" A tumblr user under the alias of turbomun, real name Gianna, took the chance to post about the difference between "Same Face Syndrome" and stylization. In Gianna's post, titled "Sameface [sic] Syndrome and Other Stories," the very first thing she does is let you know how easy it is for someone to fall into Same Face Syndrome. In the very first sentence she introduces herself as a student of the arts, just as many of her fellow bloggers are or aspire to be. By flat out saying she has experienced this phenomenon herself the reader automatically believes that she understands what it is like to draw characters with the same face. She understands how easy it is to not realize that each female character is essentially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "For this reason, differentiating your characters only through surface details, like hair style/color, eye color, freckles, clothing (to an extent), and yes, even faces – especially faces – is frowned upon, at least in western–style animation." She even goes and pulls up original character designs for Elsa and Anna, the two characters that lit the match in the first place, and show how much they changed from their original design into "the Rapunzel ... Cruella De Vil is a character from the Disney animated movie "One Hundred and One Dalmatians". She is one of the most evil women on Earth. She collects fur coats that she wears, killing innocent animals to do it. In her latest scheme, she kidnaps 99 dalmatian puppies in order to make herself a dalmatian fur coat. The coat isn't even in style, and she could just wait until the dogs die to take their fur. She is the devils best friend, or worse, commander! The woman is so vicious her name even has cruel in it. Therefor she is known for what she is, cruel! Puppies are one of the most harmless animals in the world, why would someone kill them for a coat that isn't even cute? She's ruthless and crazy and someone needs to imprison her before the wipes away the entire dog population. Cruella De Vil is beyond powerful she'll stop at nothing to get what she wants! Her schemes are also difficult to invent, therefore to find them she must be intelligent and extremely evil to brainstorm them up. • 17. The Burj Khalifa And The Tallest Building The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, and has been since 2009. It is a work place and a home to many people in Dubai. It was formally known as the Burj Dubai but was changed in recognition to Sheik Khalifa who paid for the majority of the building's construction. The Burj Khalifa is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The building cost 1.5 billion dollars to build. Construction started on January 6th, 2004 and ended on December 31st, 2009. But 1,325 days after construction started it was already the tallest freestanding structure in the world. At the peak of construction, 12,000 workers worked on the building per day. Only three workers died in the process. The building then opened on January 4th, 2010. The first skyscrapers were built between 1884–1939. Chicago's Home Insurance Building which opened in 1884 was considered the world's first skyscraper. It was 138 feet tall. In 1892 Chicago stopped building skyscrapers taller than 150 feet tall. This allowed New York to start developing taller buildings. The economic boom of the 1920's led to the building of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building. As the Great Depression hit, the building of skyscrapers stopped. Since the end of the Great Depression buildings have become taller and taller until we get to the Burj Khalifa at 2,722 feet. We are digging up the dirt on four of your (possibly) favorite childhood movies and bringing you their real stories. Beware of childhood ruining moments or mind blowing realizations. Chicken Run If you've seen Chicken Run, you understand why the chickens had to run, but after reading this you'll be rooting for those chickens for a different reason. Turns out Chicken Run is an allusion to the Holocaust. Here is how the plot aligns. First, we meet the chickens in their little "Chicken Camps" AKA concentration camps. The chickens are essentially a representation of Jews. Originally, Hitler's plan was to force work on the Jews until they were unable to work and were eventually killed. In Chicken Run, the original plan was that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The original tale is written by Hans Christian Anderson. Disney's version could be called a complete 180 from the original. There are some small parts that align, like her saving the prince and falling for him and visiting the sea witch who takes her tongue (voice) for her legs. The deal remains the same: the mermaid can only stay human if the prince falls in love with her and marries her. However, the penalty is far more severe, she will die if she fails. There is also an unfortunate penalty to have legs: every single step she takes on land will feel like she is walking on sharp glass. On the other hand in the Disney movie the prince ends up with another girl (in the story, they do get married and it's not the sea witch). She is given one option left to return to the sea. If she kills the prince, she can keep her life and gets to be a mermaid again. I'd say that's a win–win. Of course, it isn't for her, she loves the prince so much that she can't go through with it. • 25. The Construction Of 1km Tall Kingdom Tower Of Jeddah,... Executive Summary Skyscrapers are continuously increasing in height as new technologies provide solutions to unique problems that arise as a building grows. Technological advances have given rise to categories of towers such as 'super talls' (defined as buildings of over 300 metres) and 'mega talls' (over 600 metres). The tallest building currently is the Burj Khalifa at 829.8m (Schmidt, 2013) however this will not be the case for long, as the construction of 1km tall Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is already underway. With the world's natural resources in extremely short supply, it is of incredibly high importance that we use them in the most efficient way possible, therefore significant consideration must be given to how we use them, whether this be for huge towers or otherwise. On top of the issue above, there is an annual increase in population of nearly 76,000,000 (Worldometers.info, 2016) and the world's urban population is also on the increase; expected to be at 70% of the planet's population by 2050 (Berg, 2016). The next milestone height to be reached by a building is one mile. It is suggested the we certainly could build as high as this (Berg, 2016), but whether we should is a bit more difficult to answer. In this report, I aim to assess the benefits, drawbacks and design considerations of these enormous structures before providing an opinion on whether I believe they should or should not be built. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These instances expose children to harmful substances in a comical fashion with zero explanations of the harmful effects associated with the drug use. The Disney movies that portray these instances are older, but still, have the potential of being watched several times by children. For instance, Beauty and the Beast had 116 exposures of alcohol in the film and 101 Dalmatians had 21 instances of tobacco use. It is difficult to say that Disney movies lead to children trying alcohol and tobacco, but this is one example where these Disney films should be talked to with kids and explain the harmful effects of the substances children are being exposed to. I remember 101 Dalmatians having a lot of smoking references and wonder if these exposures have any impacts on the decision people make. These films are still important to discuss with children especially if it is an older Disney movie and a lot of alcohol or tobacco exposures occur in a film, so the child can begin to understand the negative consequences of those actions from a younger ... It serves as the centerpiece for downtown Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up its country, and was designed by Adrian Smith, then representing Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It was under construction from January of 2004, until December of 2009, finally opening its doors on January 4th of 2010. The building is an embodiment of Islamic architecture, incorporating both cultural and historical elements of the region into the visage of the building. This style was chosen very deliberately, meant to enrich the, at the time, recently developed downtown Dubai. The building has since received widespread international attention for various reasons. Some laud the records that the building shattered and the many awards it has received, while others commend the manner in which it has elevated the city of Dubai. The Dubai government decided to build the Burj Khalifa as a way to diversify their economic portfolio. Their economy had long been based solely on oil and they decided that they wanted to generate more interest and international recognition for Dubai, thus increasing tourism and overall improving the emirate's economy. The skyscraper served its purpose and drew a lot of additional interest towards Dubai, receiving many awards. For example, the Burj Khalifa is recognized as the tallest existing, or ever built, free standing structure. It is also the building ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of Disney Films Essay examples Analysis of Disney Films Before starting this essay, I researched several different Disney Films; Snow White, Aladdin, Hercules, Mulan, 101 Dalmatians and The Lion King the last two of which I'm going to analyse in more detail. The term "representation" means the act of communicating by using symbols to stand for things, throughout the essay I intend to see how Disney represents their binary opposites. Binary opposites are opposites, like good and bad. Levi Strauss believed that all narratives are made up of opposites he called these opposites binary opposites. 101 Dalmatians ============== The initial impression the audience have of Pongo and ... Cruella then opens her coat to disclose a lot of red and black; features such as her hips, feet and face are pointed, emphasising a scary image; these are the conventions of a villain. She is sarcastic and her laugh is evil, she even walks like a villain, very upright and proud. There are lots of binary opposites between Roger and Anita to Cruella De Vil, for example, Roger and Anita are helping Perdy give birth, so they are bring life into the world but Cruella wants to take life out of the world by killing the puppies for their fur. Cruella has two sidekicks, Horris and Jasper, these are villains too, physically, they are out of proportion and we first see them in the dark. Although Cruella, Horris and Jasper work together, they aren't really friends, Cruella uses them to do her work. Roger, Anita, Pongo and Perdy do things to help each other, they are in unity. This is another binary opposite. Perdy and Pongo have lots of dog friends across London, who later in the film helps them out, Cruella has no friends. The time was near the end of July, this is when my dad usually enjoys taking our summer vacations, primarily outside of our state to somewhere else new and exciting. That summer my dad decided to take a week long road trip and visit, Wisconsin Dells, Chicago, St. Louis, and Madison. When I had heard him say Chicago I had already imagined the tall buildings surrounding me, and taking a walk near Lake Michigan on the Navy Pier. Overall, I had felt joyful about the trip. He wanted to show my sisters and I all the adventures he did in Chicago when he was my age. To tell the truth, I was more excited to visit Chicago a little more since it was such an extensive city and I had wanted to visit there ever since I was younger. A few days before the trip, my dad, my sister Nina, and I, had done some research and added up the cost of the trip and looked for hotels and restaurants to visit during the time we were there and on our road trip. After about an hour of research on Chicago, we had our plan of what to do for our time in Chicago. That night, It was difficult to fall asleep, although I wasn't surprised I usually didn't fall asleep right away before a vacation, I'm usually too excited. Benjamin Barker's Transformation In Sweeny Todd When considering the character Benjamin Barker "Sweeny Todd", there is a transformation in costuming from an innocent man to vengeful protagonist. At the start of the show he is dressed in depressing black color, with his hair as black can be. There is no white stripe in his hair which in my own interpretation makes me think of Cruella Deville from 101 Dalmatians, especially as he projects his anger through song. His voice contains such passion and rage, with a deep echo that the audience couldn't ever forget. • 61. The Global Population Of The United Nations Essay The United Nations estimates that by 2076, the global population will be nearly 11 billion people. Currently, the global population is slightly below 7.5 billion people, which means that in 60 years the amount of people on the Earth will increase by roughly 3.5 billion people. Living accommodations will have to change for this large increase in population, resulting in smaller and more cramped homes. Large cities will have to not only build more apartment complexes, but also build them taller in order to accommodate more people. At this point in time, the technology is not available to allow an extra 3.5 billion people adequate living conditions. However, the future generations will be able to advance technology enough to figure out a solution. Moore's Law observes that every two years, the number of transistors in an integrated circuit doubles. In simpler terms, it says that the processing power for computers doubles every two years. This indicates that the future holds many technological advancements, and sixty years from now the technology used in homes will be drastically more advanced than the technology used in homes today. As a result, all 11 billion people will be able to live comfortably. The home of the future will look much different than the homes of today. It will be able to perform many more tasks and will be much more than just a building that a person owns and sleeps in. This was expected because living in Dubai, U.A.E. meant that a person would be bathing in sweat the moment they stepped outside from their shelters. I could feel my black hair sticking to my head and my loose shirt already clinging to my back. Looking up, I see multiple towering skyscrapers piercing the clouds like a mighty sword. Followed by my family, I grabbed Ash's hand, my cousin, and raced to see who would the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, first. Entering the building, we all sighed in relief as the cold air in the building engulfed us like a cozy blanket. Standing in line to get to the top floor, we all pulled out our ice–cold water bottles and abd quenched our thirst. "I'm so excited! I can't wait to go bungee–jumping when we reach there!", I said, turning around to face Ash. "Oh! Look who's talking. The girl who has the biggest fear of heights!", she replied, raising her eyebrows. Smirking, I said, "Ha! I'm not scared! Especially because you'll be doing it with me". Hearing that, she lowered her head, avoiding my gaze. Ash has been the only cousin to whom I've opened up to. She knew my deepest darkest secrets and I knew hers.
