Catcher In The Rye Title Essay
The title of the novel, "The Catcher in the Rye", plays a significant role throughout the book as it
has a substantial connection to Holden's story. This title greatly allows for the main character,
Holden Caulfield, to express his feelings towards life and towards human nature. Holden can see
that the world he now lives in as it is becoming filled with corrupted people and minds. He
believes the children are ruined by the ribald behavior of the older generations around them and as
he shows the reader in the novel, these thoughts allow for holden to realize his true purpose in life,
which would be to help save the children from this vindictive world. Holden also needs to save
himself from this conflict as he is also caught between the...show more content...
He was walking in the street, instead of on the sidewalk, but right next to the curb. He was making
out like he was walking a very straight line, the way kids do, and the whole time he kept singing and
humming."(Page 128) Holden can tell that the child 's parents do not pay any attention to him, this
shows the reader that, to Holden, this child represents innocence and purity that is often not found
in already spoiled children, which is why he is so fond of the child. Holden wishes to serve
humanity by protecting the innocence and purity of children, by guarding them from the evils of life
and the callous behavior adults show the children of the world.
Holden again references the "Catcher in the Rye" when his little sister, Phoebe, asks him what he
would like to be when he grows up. He answers, "I keep picturing all these little kids playing some
game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody 's around –– nobody big, I
mean –– except me. And I 'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to
catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff –– I mean if they 're running and they don 't look
where they 're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That 's all I 'd do all
day. I 'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it 's crazy." (Page 191) This quote by Holden
allows the reader to understand what Holden was thinking when he came into contact with the

Creative Industries And The Creative Industry
As an ever–evolving concept, the creative industries as as hard to define as creativity itself.
Academia is struggling to keep up with the growing global interest in these ideas. (De Beukelaer,
2015) A creative industry is defined as 'unpredictability, rapid shift in trends and fashions' (Lee,
2015, p. 141). Products that are innovative and novel, satisfying the rapidly changing needs and
demands of a globalized society. (Lee, 2015) Lee (2015) identified two common strands of creative
industry research. The first focuses on the development of creative industries and the second on
'place promotion': using arts and culture to promote or rejuvenate urban areas. (Lee, 2015) 'The
know–why, know–how, know–who, know–when and know–from' (Lee, 2015) are critical to
development within the creative industries. The constant demand for innovative products creates a
need for a centralized knowledge bases among the firms and freelancers of the creative industries.
Access to this base, providing information on job opportunities, new commodities and methods and
new collaborators is critical for maintaining a competitive advantage. (Lee, 2015) There are three
key concepts that facilitate the sharing of said knowledge: clusters, buzz and degree of commonality.
(Lee, 2015) This knowledge is transferred primarily through face–to–face interactions and the
individuals sharing information are referred to as actors. (Lee, 2015) A large amount of literature
focuses on the importance of physical

What Creativity Means to Me: An Opinion Essay
Introduction Creativity does not have an assigned or universally accepted definition. Thus the
true nature of creativity cannot be confined to a single definition. In this text, I discuss creativity.
More specifically, I concern myself with what creativity means to me and to others. What
Creativity Means to Me In my opinion, creativity has got to do with the ability to come up with
new things or ideas. Over time, we have had individuals design, produce or even manufacture
items which were not in existence before. On the other hand, we also have people who have
sought to improve or build on the ideas of others so as to come up with an even better concept,
design or invention. These two groups of people in my opinion could be regarded as being rather
creative. Further, creativity in my view also has got to do with the ability to solve problems or
challenges in a unique way. For instance, an individual who solves a recurring problem within a
group setting could be regarded creative. Some of the people I consider creative based on their
ability to come up with new ideas and/or build upon the ideas of others include but are not limited
to Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. In my opinion, all these individuals at
some point engaged their creative minds in the development of an entirely new concept, an idea or
product or built upon the ideas of others to come up with even better ideas, concepts or products.

The Invasion of D-Day Essay
Introduction
The invasion of D–Day is the largest joint sea born invasion in the history of the world. Although
very well planned, the amphibious landings were a gamble made by the Allied forces to gain
foothold in Europe. Every American has heard about the Allied invasion of German–occupied
Western Europe on D–Day. However, how many Americans stop and think about how much
planning, preparation and luck that went into making it the success that it is remembered for? I will
attempt to depict what it took to conquer the Normandy beaches using historical and military facts
that make it such an iconic event in the world's history still today.

They used lessons learned from the unsuccessful Dieppe raid to assist identifying parameters for the
landing site, such as: it needed to be within range of fighters from England, within reach of a major
port, suitable for prolonged operations, and have beach defenses that could be suppressed with
bombing and bombardment.6 The resulting answer was a section of Norwegian coast between Caen
and Cherbourg.
In July 1942 the first draft of Overlord plan was completed by COSSAC, and by August the
Operation Overlord plan was approved by the CCS. Lieutenant–General Dwight D. Eisenhower was
appointed as Supreme Commander for Operation Overlord. General Sir Bernard Montgomery is
given command of the 21st Army Group, which contains all the land forces that would be used in the
invasion.
The Allies identified five separate beaches for the invasion of Normandy. The Americans would
assault the two beaches in the west, named Utah and Omaha. In the east, British and Canadian
forces would assault Gold, Juno, and Sword Beaches. Airborne units would be deployed to land on
the flanks of Utah and Sword beaches. The main objectives planned for the first day would be to
consolidate the beaches into one beach head, secure the main avenues of travel to and from the
beaches, and secure the city of Caen. The following days would include fortification and expansion
of the beach

Creative Writing: Bored
Bored. That was one way to describe you right now. As you sat there twiddling your thumbs you
could hear the birds squawking. It was nearly time to lock up and feed all the animals. You got up
from behind the counter and walked trought the aisles to reach the door. Just as you were turning
the sign around to say 'closed' someone opened the door, hitting you in the face. You stumbled
backwards but someone quickly grabbed you by the arm and a deep voice asked "Are you ok? I'm
so sorry!" "Yeah I'm fine." you said rubbing your nose. "How can i help you?" "Um...Well...It's kind

My Definition of Success Essay example
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
– Albert Einstein ––
My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you)
what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your
thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that
challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing
what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you
love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content...
Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets
is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important,
and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life
interesting and challenging.
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or
the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I
grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination.
They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the
$55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company,
moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed
to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.
Faith and family always come first –

Argumentative Essay On Creativity
The Creativity Epidemic Most would agree that the technological advances today have caused this
generation to become crippled in their creativity. The lack of face–to–face communication has
severely damaged this generations ability to separate text–speech from formal speeches. Being born
in a generation were technology is only at it's peak, it's hard to separate yourself from the tech–savvy
world. As stated in the article The Creativity Crisis by Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman the
accepted definition of creativity is production of something original and useful, and that's what's
reflected in the tests. There is never one right answer. To be creative requires divergent thinking
(generating many unique ideas) and then convergent thinking (combining those ideas into the best
result). When most think of technology you only see the advances made, the achievements fulfilled
and the key factor it plays in our society today, for example as in The Limits to Creativity in
Education: Dilemmas for the Educator It argues that the notion of creativity may be value– and
culture–specific and that this poses the so–called liberal educator with various dilemmas of principle
and pedagogy, which are explored (Anna Craft 1). In other words, technology is a blessing seeing
all the doors its opened for us in the short amount of time its been here. But it's also a curse. In
retrospect others might argue that technology helps open the door to a child's imagination. As stated
in The Pros and Cons of Technology by Amanda Ronan on January 16, 2017; Technology gives
children the ability to learn in ways their parents and grandparents never had. Today's learners have
immediate access to answers and research. Yet, that immediate access is changing the way students
think about work and how they feel emotionally (Amanda Ronan). This significant emotional change
is centered around the deprivation on other social outlets. The youth of today's social and
educational status is complete centered around where they rank in the chain of technological
coherency. Seeing how tablets and computers are replacing textbooks due to everything being
encrypted into software anyone that hasn't evolved is sure to be left behind in a stone age of their
own.

Reflection Paper On Philosophy
This essay is reflection about my understanding from what I have learned during this class about
what philosophy is. Philosophy is a broad topic and can be hard to understand. What we learn is
class about philosophy defiantly makes me think and makes my brain turn all the time, but so far,
my understanding is that philosophy is the study of knowledge. It breaks down what everything is.
Examples used in class are chariness, deskness, and the main one sued in class "cupness".
According to Aristotle, philosophy is the study of fundamental nature of knowledge; it starts with
wonder. Philosophy makes us ask specific question like "Why" why did this happen and how did it
come to be. Philosophy had its origin in ancient Greece. Philosophy recognizes that everything is
somehow connected.
Philosophy and 'science' are the same project; to do philosophy is to do science and to do science
is to do philosophy. It is connected because philosophy/science was attempting to discover the
fundamental unity principle that lies at the basis of all reality and all experience. This is why we
refer to Garret Strong many times throughout our class discussions
The earliest philosopher/scientist are called Pre–Socratic philosophers. They came before the great
philosopher Socrates. Thales is to be the first. Thales is referred to as the father or founder of
philosophophy/science he lived in the sixth century BCE. Thales began to search for the unity
principle, which is the ground of all things.

Descriptive Essay About My Brother
My brother is both my favorite hello and my hardest goodbye. He has been my best friend since
birth, and even though I am only able to spend time him occasionally, he is always on my mind.
Thinking about him so often brings up fond memories of being rambunctious children, attending
elementary school, and attending some of high school together. Growing up with my brother at my
side has helped shape the person I have become and has provided me with sentimental memories
that are incredibly valuable to me. As young children, my brother and I constantly got into trivial
fights over the simplest of disagreements. When I look back on these frivolous arguments now, I
regret being this way with him. Even though we did disagree often, we spent more time playing
together and causing trouble and stress for my mom and my dad. One clear memory that comes
to mind is a time my dad took my brother and me to the grocery store. My brother and I were
acting berserk, running around the store, and asking for the most random and bizarre objects we
could get our hands on. We requested items as silly as a can of beans and a ginormous bouncy ball.
My dad could not help but laugh at how maniacal we looked. These kinds of silly, lighthearted
events happened all throughout my childhood with my brother by my side. After having so much
fun in elementary school together, my brother moved on to high school, and I followed him a year
later. When I started attending E. D. White in eighth grade, my brother

Essay about Suicide
Someone, somewhere, commits suicide every 18 minutes. You might never be able to tell who it
will be, it could be the person sitting right next . Statistics reveal that approximately three million
youths, between 12–18, have either thought about or attempted suicide in the past year. More than 1
/3, actually succeeded.
Only in the past two decades, have depression and suicide been taken seriously. Depression is an
illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. Depression affects the way a person eats and
sleeps, feels about themselves, and the way they think of the things around them. It comes as no
surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide

Adolescence is a stressful experience for all teens. It is a time of physical and social changes
producing rapid mood swings from sadness to elation. Even an emotionally healthy teenager may
have the constant fear of not being good enough, not making the varsity team, or getting good
grades. Special situations such as a parents divorce can trigger intense sadness and feelings of
wanting to die.
People who usually experience depression, can seem fine. But there are many key signs to show that
they are depressed. Such as, change in school performance, eating habits change, constant
unhappiness, low self esteem, guilt, social isolation, inability to concentrate, irritable or angered
easily, or has a severe lost of energy.
For a teen suffering from severe depression, has feelings of worthlessness that dominates their day.
Despair is ever present and emotional pain feels like it will never end. Any situation of anger or
disappointment may cause the teen to cross the line from wanting to die, to actually trying to kill
themselves.
Many of them feel pains inside of them, that they can't describe when someone asks them how they
feel. They just know that they are sad, or angry, or upset. Many teenagers will try to communicate
their pains through

My dad always packed his things last. Suddenly, my heart stopped. I turn my head slowly over my

Essay On I Am Malala
The book "I am Malala" tells the story of eleven year old girl that campaigned and fought for
woman's rights and for the Taliban to allow them to go to school. Malala had an extremely tight nit
family bond along with very supportive parents. She always had their support especially from her
father Ziauddin. I believe that if I had a daughter so young that wanted to make such a big
difference in her country I would stand by her one–hundred percent and push her to set out her
dreams. That is exactly what her parents did, they always encouraged her to do whatever she put her
mind to even now in present day.

shocked to say the least. I would've brushed it to the side and forgot about it. Malala had a very
strong support base because I would not have let my child of eleven protest which she could have
gotten killed for. Malala was brave, she even said she was not afraid to die. Most would have
been more comfortable if she was "older" and "wiser". Which I think is a common misconception
on young people. More seasoned people think that just because a child is young they cannot have
a big voice or have an opinion on society because they have not experienced as many years on earth
as them. Malala broke the mold and she protested what she felt was right, even though she ended up
getting shot in the face for it. Was it worth it? I think it was worth it.
In conclusion I support the fact that Malala's parents allowed her to fight for woman's rights, and to
stand up for what she believed in. Malala's shooting affected people across the world and she was

When I Grow Up..
"Being 'grown up' isn't as fun as the idea of growing up."
–AmberGrace Seguin
Remember when we were young and all we could think of was growing up and getting to do
'grownup' things? We spent our whole childhood thinking of what we would do when we finally
'grew up', and here we are, almost completely grown up and we still haven't made up our mind of
what it is we will do when we grow up. We've painted this pretty little picture in our head of what
it'll be like when we eventually do grow up, and when it finally comes for the picture to be taken off
the wall and put into action, it's not nearly as fun as creating the painting.

As we continue to grow up, we learn that being grown up is not as we imagined it. We once
convinced ourselves that growing up was the goal to achieve, and life would be much better once
we were in fact grown up. When we in fact do grow up, we think back at our youth and laugh
because we thought growing up was the most wondrous thing to accomplish, but now, more than
ever, we crave for our youth; for the days we would sit in the grass and daydream of what we are to
become when we grow up; and finally for the days when life was simple and we could imagine it
any which way we wanted it and no one could do a thing about it.

Persuasive Essay On Drug Overdose
In 2015, more than 400 people in New Hampshire died because of drug overdose (Nilsen 2016). The
drug overdose numbers have increased 33% in the past five years (Casey 2016). The drug crisis in
New Hampshire is a really big issue. New Hampshire has one of the highest rates of opioid related
deaths. There is always something on the news about drugs, whether it be a drug bust, an overdose,
or death. Something needs to be done on a state level and a national level to help educate and
rehabilitate. The rate of drug use in New Hampshire has increased over the years. It has increased
for many reasons. One reason is that it is very easy for people to have access to drugs these days.
Some drugs you can get at the convenience store or online (Anderson 2017). Another reason why the
rate has increased is that people are trying to fit in. If everyone else is doing it, why shouldn't they?
Some think that drugs are the solution but eventually they will become the problem (Drug–Free
World). Erik Becker, who is a SAP Counselor at Groveton High School, thinks that the rate has
increased because, "Historically New Hampshire has underfunded mental health and substance use
treatment and resources" (Becker 2017). Becker stated that Coos County has had one of the largest
prescription drugs per capita. "Once the street cost of prescription opiates became higher, and the
pills became harder to get, heroin became an alternative" (Becker 2017).
The state of New Hampshire needs to be educated on

  • 1. Catcher In The Rye Title Essay The title of the novel, "The Catcher in the Rye", plays a significant role throughout the book as it has a substantial connection to Holden's story. This title greatly allows for the main character, Holden Caulfield, to express his feelings towards life and towards human nature. Holden can see that the world he now lives in as it is becoming filled with corrupted people and minds. He believes the children are ruined by the ribald behavior of the older generations around them and as he shows the reader in the novel, these thoughts allow for holden to realize his true purpose in life, which would be to help save the children from this vindictive world. Holden also needs to save himself from this conflict as he is also caught between the...show more content... He was walking in the street, instead of on the sidewalk, but right next to the curb. He was making out like he was walking a very straight line, the way kids do, and the whole time he kept singing and humming."(Page 128) Holden can tell that the child 's parents do not pay any attention to him, this shows the reader that, to Holden, this child represents innocence and purity that is often not found in already spoiled children, which is why he is so fond of the child. Holden wishes to serve humanity by protecting the innocence and purity of children, by guarding them from the evils of life and the callous behavior adults show the children of the world. Holden again references the "Catcher in the Rye" when his little sister, Phoebe, asks him what he would like to be when he grows up. He answers, "I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody 's around –– nobody big, I mean –– except me. And I 'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff –– I mean if they 're running and they don 't look where they 're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That 's all I 'd do all day. I 'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it 's crazy." (Page 191) This quote by Holden allows the reader to understand what Holden was thinking when he came into contact with the singing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Creative Industries And The Creative Industry As an ever–evolving concept, the creative industries as as hard to define as creativity itself. Academia is struggling to keep up with the growing global interest in these ideas. (De Beukelaer, 2015) A creative industry is defined as 'unpredictability, rapid shift in trends and fashions' (Lee, 2015, p. 141). Products that are innovative and novel, satisfying the rapidly changing needs and demands of a globalized society. (Lee, 2015) Lee (2015) identified two common strands of creative industry research. The first focuses on the development of creative industries and the second on 'place promotion': using arts and culture to promote or rejuvenate urban areas. (Lee, 2015) 'The know–why, know–how, know–who, know–when and know–from' (Lee, 2015) are critical to development within the creative industries. The constant demand for innovative products creates a need for a centralized knowledge bases among the firms and freelancers of the creative industries. Access to this base, providing information on job opportunities, new commodities and methods and new collaborators is critical for maintaining a competitive advantage. (Lee, 2015) There are three key concepts that facilitate the sharing of said knowledge: clusters, buzz and degree of commonality. (Lee, 2015) This knowledge is transferred primarily through face–to–face interactions and the individuals sharing information are referred to as actors. (Lee, 2015) A large amount of literature focuses on the importance of physical Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. What Creativity Means to Me: An Opinion Essay Introduction Creativity does not have an assigned or universally accepted definition. Thus the true nature of creativity cannot be confined to a single definition. In this text, I discuss creativity. More specifically, I concern myself with what creativity means to me and to others. What Creativity Means to Me In my opinion, creativity has got to do with the ability to come up with new things or ideas. Over time, we have had individuals design, produce or even manufacture items which were not in existence before. On the other hand, we also have people who have sought to improve or build on the ideas of others so as to come up with an even better concept, design or invention. These two groups of people in my opinion could be regarded as being rather creative. Further, creativity in my view also has got to do with the ability to solve problems or challenges in a unique way. For instance, an individual who solves a recurring problem within a group setting could be regarded creative. Some of the people I consider creative based on their ability to come up with new ideas and/or build upon the ideas of others include but are not limited to Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. In my opinion, all these individuals at some point engaged their creative minds in the development of an entirely new concept, an idea or product or built upon the ideas of others to come up with even better ideas, concepts or products. What Creativity Means to Others As I have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Invasion of D-Day Essay Introduction The invasion of D–Day is the largest joint sea born invasion in the history of the world. Although very well planned, the amphibious landings were a gamble made by the Allied forces to gain foothold in Europe. Every American has heard about the Allied invasion of German–occupied Western Europe on D–Day. However, how many Americans stop and think about how much planning, preparation and luck that went into making it the success that it is remembered for? I will attempt to depict what it took to conquer the Normandy beaches using historical and military facts that make it such an iconic event in the world's history still today. History Japan's surprise attack on the United States came as a complete shock. The attacks cost...show more content... They used lessons learned from the unsuccessful Dieppe raid to assist identifying parameters for the landing site, such as: it needed to be within range of fighters from England, within reach of a major port, suitable for prolonged operations, and have beach defenses that could be suppressed with bombing and bombardment.6 The resulting answer was a section of Norwegian coast between Caen and Cherbourg. In July 1942 the first draft of Overlord plan was completed by COSSAC, and by August the Operation Overlord plan was approved by the CCS. Lieutenant–General Dwight D. Eisenhower was appointed as Supreme Commander for Operation Overlord. General Sir Bernard Montgomery is given command of the 21st Army Group, which contains all the land forces that would be used in the invasion. The Allies identified five separate beaches for the invasion of Normandy. The Americans would assault the two beaches in the west, named Utah and Omaha. In the east, British and Canadian forces would assault Gold, Juno, and Sword Beaches. Airborne units would be deployed to land on the flanks of Utah and Sword beaches. The main objectives planned for the first day would be to consolidate the beaches into one beach head, secure the main avenues of travel to and from the beaches, and secure the city of Caen. The following days would include fortification and expansion of the beach Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It was nearly time to lock up and feed all the animals. You got up from behind the counter and walked trought the aisles to reach the door. Just as you were turning the sign around to say 'closed' someone opened the door, hitting you in the face. You stumbled backwards but someone quickly grabbed you by the arm and a deep voice asked "Are you ok? I'm so sorry!" "Yeah I'm fine." you said rubbing your nose. "How can i help you?" • 6. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content... Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first – Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Argumentative Essay On Creativity The Creativity Epidemic Most would agree that the technological advances today have caused this generation to become crippled in their creativity. The lack of face–to–face communication has severely damaged this generations ability to separate text–speech from formal speeches. Being born in a generation were technology is only at it's peak, it's hard to separate yourself from the tech–savvy world. As stated in the article The Creativity Crisis by Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman the accepted definition of creativity is production of something original and useful, and that's what's reflected in the tests. There is never one right answer. To be creative requires divergent thinking (generating many unique ideas) and then convergent thinking (combining those ideas into the best result). When most think of technology you only see the advances made, the achievements fulfilled and the key factor it plays in our society today, for example as in The Limits to Creativity in Education: Dilemmas for the Educator It argues that the notion of creativity may be value– and culture–specific and that this poses the so–called liberal educator with various dilemmas of principle and pedagogy, which are explored (Anna Craft 1). In other words, technology is a blessing seeing all the doors its opened for us in the short amount of time its been here. But it's also a curse. In retrospect others might argue that technology helps open the door to a child's imagination. As stated in The Pros and Cons of Technology by Amanda Ronan on January 16, 2017; Technology gives children the ability to learn in ways their parents and grandparents never had. Today's learners have immediate access to answers and research. Yet, that immediate access is changing the way students think about work and how they feel emotionally (Amanda Ronan). This significant emotional change is centered around the deprivation on other social outlets. The youth of today's social and educational status is complete centered around where they rank in the chain of technological coherency. Seeing how tablets and computers are replacing textbooks due to everything being encrypted into software anyone that hasn't evolved is sure to be left behind in a stone age of their own. • 8. Reflection Paper On Philosophy This essay is reflection about my understanding from what I have learned during this class about what philosophy is. Philosophy is a broad topic and can be hard to understand. What we learn is class about philosophy defiantly makes me think and makes my brain turn all the time, but so far, my understanding is that philosophy is the study of knowledge. It breaks down what everything is. Examples used in class are chariness, deskness, and the main one sued in class "cupness". According to Aristotle, philosophy is the study of fundamental nature of knowledge; it starts with wonder. Philosophy makes us ask specific question like "Why" why did this happen and how did it come to be. Philosophy had its origin in ancient Greece. Philosophy recognizes that everything is somehow connected. Philosophy and 'science' are the same project; to do philosophy is to do science and to do science is to do philosophy. It is connected because philosophy/science was attempting to discover the fundamental unity principle that lies at the basis of all reality and all experience. This is why we refer to Garret Strong many times throughout our class discussions The earliest philosopher/scientist are called Pre–Socratic philosophers. They came before the great philosopher Socrates. Thales is to be the first. Thales is referred to as the father or founder of philosophophy/science he lived in the sixth century BCE. Thales began to search for the unity principle, which is the ground of all things. At the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay About My Brother My brother is both my favorite hello and my hardest goodbye. He has been my best friend since birth, and even though I am only able to spend time him occasionally, he is always on my mind. Thinking about him so often brings up fond memories of being rambunctious children, attending elementary school, and attending some of high school together. Growing up with my brother at my side has helped shape the person I have become and has provided me with sentimental memories that are incredibly valuable to me. As young children, my brother and I constantly got into trivial fights over the simplest of disagreements. When I look back on these frivolous arguments now, I regret being this way with him. Even though we did disagree often, we spent more time playing together and causing trouble and stress for my mom and my dad. One clear memory that comes to mind is a time my dad took my brother and me to the grocery store. My brother and I were acting berserk, running around the store, and asking for the most random and bizarre objects we could get our hands on. We requested items as silly as a can of beans and a ginormous bouncy ball. My dad could not help but laugh at how maniacal we looked. These kinds of silly, lighthearted events happened all throughout my childhood with my brother by my side. • 10. Essay about Suicide Someone, somewhere, commits suicide every 18 minutes. You might never be able to tell who it will be, it could be the person sitting right next . Statistics reveal that approximately three million youths, between 12–18, have either thought about or attempted suicide in the past year. More than 1 /3, actually succeeded. Only in the past two decades, have depression and suicide been taken seriously. Depression is an illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. Depression affects the way a person eats and sleeps, feels about themselves, and the way they think of the things around them. It comes as no surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide is now responsible for more deaths...show more content... Even an emotionally healthy teenager may have the constant fear of not being good enough, not making the varsity team, or getting good grades. Special situations such as a parents divorce can trigger intense sadness and feelings of wanting to die. People who usually experience depression, can seem fine. But there are many key signs to show that they are depressed. Such as, change in school performance, eating habits change, constant unhappiness, low self esteem, guilt, social isolation, inability to concentrate, irritable or angered easily, or has a severe lost of energy. • 11. 9/11 Creative Writing My phone's alarm went off early in the morning; I let it play a little more as the alarm was my favorite song. Instead of being cranky by the alarm, I bumped to it. The birds chirped from all angles, the neighbor's dogs barked at each other, while he was too busy mowing to lawn. But, I was in a terrific mood anyway. The blinds, slightly open, let bright sun rays hit my floor, while the A/C blasted. I slowly got up, and let out a loud yawn. Bones cracked at every single body joint. The pleasing aroma of coffee and the savoring smell of eggs filled up my nostrils. I put both feet down, and head to the pull–up bar where I hang on it for a few seconds, stretching out my spine. I turn my head toward the calendar to make sure today was the day. Indeed it was, reading the month of July with 2008 written in big, bold letters. Butterflies filled up my stomach with goosebumps everywhere. "Kam, are you done packing?" yelled my mother from the hallway closet. "Yeah, just got to get my toothbrush and razor." responded back my dad. My dad always packed his things last. Suddenly, my heart stopped. I turn my head slowly over my shoulder, only to see my luggage bag laying on the floor, open, with nothing but dust in it. The brimming list of things I was supposed to pack layed on my desk. I have been doing pretty good, the theme that I wrote a few years ago actually got quite a bit of publicity because the teacher loved it so much. I was in the newspaper. Darry and I have actually convinced Soda to go back to school. Since Sodapop isn't the most motivated person in the world, we signed him up for a tutor after school twice a week so he will actually do his homework. So far he's actually been doing real good. It's been a few days since we last visited Darry and for some reason, he seems to be getting worse. The doctor said it was an infection but they still haven't figured it out yet. Darry is in a lot of pain right now. He should have been almost completely healed. Today me and oda are gonna go and check up on him at the hospital to see how he's doing. " Ponyboy and Soda, your brother Darrel is ready to see you", said one of the nurses. They moved him to a different room and I noticed that it's right next to the room Johnny died in. • 13. Essay On I Am Malala The book "I am Malala" tells the story of eleven year old girl that campaigned and fought for woman's rights and for the Taliban to allow them to go to school. Malala had an extremely tight nit family bond along with very supportive parents. She always had their support especially from her father Ziauddin. I believe that if I had a daughter so young that wanted to make such a big difference in her country I would stand by her one–hundred percent and push her to set out her dreams. That is exactly what her parents did, they always encouraged her to do whatever she put her mind to even now in present day. Malala at age fifteen was shot by a Taliban man, for standing up for woman's rights to go to school. If I was Malala's parents I would...show more content... Malala wanted to make a difference in how unequal woman's rights were, and she would go to all costs to make it happen in her country. Her father said since she was a baby that this child is special, and she was. If my child wanted to take a stand at eleven for woman's rights I would be shocked to say the least. I would've brushed it to the side and forgot about it. Malala had a very strong support base because I would not have let my child of eleven protest which she could have gotten killed for. Malala was brave, she even said she was not afraid to die. Most would have been more comfortable if she was "older" and "wiser". Which I think is a common misconception on young people. More seasoned people think that just because a child is young they cannot have a big voice or have an opinion on society because they have not experienced as many years on earth as them. Malala broke the mold and she protested what she felt was right, even though she ended up getting shot in the face for it. Was it worth it? I think it was worth it. In conclusion I support the fact that Malala's parents allowed her to fight for woman's rights, and to stand up for what she believed in. Malala's shooting affected people across the world and she was even nominated for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

We make plans for the day, and do not think twice about how those plans can be taken away in the blink of an eye. I never thought much about it myself, until I was faced with the shock, and undeniable truth of my uncle's death. I do not think anyone really thinks about tragedy until they are actually faced with shocking news. It is amazing how we take life for granted. The tragedy never goes away. • 15. Essay Growing Up When I Grow Up.. "Being 'grown up' isn't as fun as the idea of growing up." –AmberGrace Seguin Remember when we were young and all we could think of was growing up and getting to do 'grownup' things? We spent our whole childhood thinking of what we would do when we finally 'grew up', and here we are, almost completely grown up and we still haven't made up our mind of what it is we will do when we grow up. We've painted this pretty little picture in our head of what it'll be like when we eventually do grow up, and when it finally comes for the picture to be taken off the wall and put into action, it's not nearly as fun as creating the painting. "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional." –Anonymous We all have the choice...show more content... "The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise." –Alden Nowlan As we continue to grow up, we learn that being grown up is not as we imagined it. We once convinced ourselves that growing up was the goal to achieve, and life would be much better once we were in fact grown up. When we in fact do grow up, we think back at our youth and laugh because we thought growing up was the most wondrous thing to accomplish, but now, more than ever, we crave for our youth; for the days we would sit in the grass and daydream of what we are to become when we grow up; and finally for the days when life was simple and we could imagine it any which way we wanted it and no one could do a thing about it. • 16. Persuasive Essay On Drug Overdose In 2015, more than 400 people in New Hampshire died because of drug overdose (Nilsen 2016). The drug overdose numbers have increased 33% in the past five years (Casey 2016). The drug crisis in New Hampshire is a really big issue. New Hampshire has one of the highest rates of opioid related deaths. There is always something on the news about drugs, whether it be a drug bust, an overdose, or death. Something needs to be done on a state level and a national level to help educate and rehabilitate. The rate of drug use in New Hampshire has increased over the years. It has increased for many reasons. One reason is that it is very easy for people to have access to drugs these days. Some drugs you can get at the convenience store or online (Anderson 2017). Another reason why the rate has increased is that people are trying to fit in. If everyone else is doing it, why shouldn't they? Some think that drugs are the solution but eventually they will become the problem (Drug–Free World). Erik Becker, who is a SAP Counselor at Groveton High School, thinks that the rate has increased because, "Historically New Hampshire has underfunded mental health and substance use treatment and resources" (Becker 2017). Becker stated that Coos County has had one of the largest prescription drugs per capita. "Once the street cost of prescription opiates became higher, and the pills became harder to get, heroin became an alternative" (Becker 2017). The state of New Hampshire needs to be educated on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
