3. Welcome to Bigblue Button
Bigblue Button will be used for the rest of our live sessions as
it is already built in to your Moodle programme
There are a few features to become familiar with so that you are
interacting in the live sessions;
• Microphone – Needs to be selected on the way in to the meeting. If you
have no sound, logout of meeting and enter again with selecting the mic
option
• Camera – Click the camera button so that you appear on camera
• Chat pane – Use this to ask questions during the presentations, as
everyone will be on mute so there are no background disturbances
• Thumbs up/Thumbs down – Click on your name and click ‘set status’.
This gives you options of using emoticons through the sessions.
• Polls – We will use these a couple of times through the week. I will let you
know when. It will appear on your screen and you will need to select an
option in the poll
4. Practicalities of live sessions -
Reminder
• Please do not share personal details on group
chat/presentations
• Everyone will be on mute whilst the presentation
is taking place
• Type any questions in the chat pane and/or use
the ‘hands up’ buttons – we’ll try and answer
them as we go along or we will go over them at
the end.

5. Today’s activities – Your progress
• After this meeting you will be able to start completing tasks
which are set on Moodle
Click on your name and click ‘set status’ - Use the thumbs
up/thumbs down function to show if you are on track or not
Access Moodle to complete the following;
• Exploring transferrable skills from different careers – 2 activities;
1. Read through skills from different careers presentation
2. Complete ‘Exploring occupational areas – Assessment’
After lunch;
• Working within the NHS Trust – 2 activities;
1. Read job information/job description and why work for the NHS documents
2. Complete ‘Working within the NHS Trust – Assignment 1’
Attend live virtual session at 2pm – Q & A – Progress Check
6. Feedback
• Feedback has been provided for everything
submitted so far.
• Click on the activity title so that you can view your
feedback to read it and make any amendments
needed.
7. Your Time - Reminder
• Live sessions – Each day – these are on your
activity planner
• Tasks set on Moodle with timings on your activity
planner – These tasks should be completed by
the end of each to ensure you are on track
• Optional training options (outside of planned
programme time)
8. What you need - Reminder
• Access to a computer/laptop or tablet essential
• Internet
• Webcam/video capability
• Photo ID – For assessments on Friday
If you only have a mobile phone – You need to email
so we can check phone capability of doing
assessments whilst in a live session.
This is a requirement of completing the end
assessments
9. Next Steps - Tomorrow
• Live Session for tomorrow morning is on Moodle at
9:30am – You can access the meeting 5 minutes
early
• If you have anything to catch up on, please try to
ensure this is done before the live session
• After the live session, you will be completing the
activities which are on Tuesday – You can look in
advance what these are, on your activity planner.
