3. Andrew Jackson 1814 commanded the U.S. military took 22 million acres from Indians in the Georga and central Alabama area. Negotiated nine of 11 treaties to move eastern tribes to the west. Published the “Indian Removal Act” this uprooted Indian tribes and made them move into Oklahoma
4. Trail of Tears This was when many Indians were moved from there home lands and were put Oklahoma. Thousands of Indians died on the trip. Indians suffered from starvation, disease, exposure, while in route to there new homes. Cherokee tribe was forced to leave under the power of the U.S. army. 1831-1838
