1. Autumn Term 26th Sept-7th Oct.
Dear Parents,
We hope that you and your child have enjoyed your first few weeks of
preschool. We feel that the children are settling in well but, if you have any
concerns or queries please, do not hesitate to speak to your keyperson. We shall be
introducing some more routines into our session this week and below you can see
some of the activities we will be doing. There are also some ideas for how you will
be able to support your child in their learning.
Activities we will be doing in Preschool:
Listening to the story of ‘Shark in the Park.’
Singing our rhyme of the week which will be ‘Twinkle twinkle little star.’
Talking about sizes of different items and introducing the concept and
language of ‘Big and Small.’
Activities to do at home with your child:
Continue talking positively about pre-school. Visit the library to find books
about starting school and read them with your child.
Sing nursery rhymes with your child, encouraging them to join in with words
and actions.
Notices:
Most of the children are now ready to stay for the whole session. Please
arrive promptly at 11.50a.m/3.50pm as they can get anxious if you are
late, and they will be tired. Some children will still need to be collected a
little earlier. Your keyperson will speak to you about this at the start of
session.
Please bring in any empty kitchen roll tubes so that we can make
telescopes, as part of our topic of Shark in the Park.
You are invited to a family service on Sunday 16th
Oct to help us celebrate
the festival of harvest. The children will be taking part in this service by
singing a couple of songs which we are learning specially for it.
