1. Autumn Term 2nd
-13th Oct.
Dear Parents,
We hope that you and your child have enjoyed your first few weeks of
preschool. We feel that the children are settling in well but, if you have any
concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to speak to your keyperson. We shall be
introducing some more routines into our session this week and below you can see
some of the activities we will be doing. There are also some ideas for how you will
be able to support your child in their learning.
Activities we will be doing in Preschool:
Singing our rhyme of the week which will be ‘Twinkle twinkle little star.’
Talking about sizes of different items and introducing the concept and
language of ‘BIG and small.’
Learning the names of new friends.
Activities to do at home with your child:
Continue talking positively about pre-school. Visit the library to find books
about starting school and read them with your child.
Sing nursery rhymes with your child, encouraging them to join in with words
and actions.
Notices:
Most of the children are now ready to stay for the whole session. Please
arrive promptly at 3.50pm as they can get anxious if you are late, and they
will be tired. Some children will still need to be collected a little earlier.
Your keyperson will speak to you about this at the start of session.
You are invited to a church family service on Sunday 15th
Oct to help us
celebrate the festival of harvest. The children will be invited to take part
in this service by singing a couple of songs which we are learning specially
for it.
Please remember that if you have given your child Calpol they are not well
enough to come to preschool. Also, if they have been sick or had
diarrhoea, they need to stay at home until 48 hours has passed since the
last bout of either. These are simple measures to reduce the spread of
infection and to keep us all healthy. Thank you
