3. RESEARCH
My research helped my production in the style of the
video with the retro vhs style combined with with the fast
pace which matches up to the genre conventions of a
constant flow and aggression. My case study definitely
helped with the the production with the look and style of
the videos definitely influencing the music video, also the
pace is greatly effected by the video aswell.
However my research hasn’t helped me in the fact that
the other videos had big budgets sets and lots of actors. I
could have focused more on what I could have
implemented in my videos instead of what I liked from
the video.
4. PLANNING
The strengths of my planning were keeping me on track
when getting the footage I would use my plan as a to do
list then then I would get the shots I need. My planning
definitely helped my final product with planning dates to
record and what was going to be recorded helping me
stick to the original idea.
The weaknesses of my planning was that I did not expect
my friend to go into self isolation therefore effecting my
plan luckily before he went into isolation I got most of
the footage so on the Monday back in school I had
footage to edit but I had planned to get my footage
during that week and I had to meet Jamie on the Monday
night when he left isolation to get the introduction
footage and ending footage. I could of prepared for me
or Jamie having to go into self isolation. Luckily this did
not effect my finished product.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT
I think that I managed my time well with getting most of
my footage early and making my video. I completed my
product on time with obsticl of having my actor in self
isolation. If I had more more time I would edit my video
more and make it look better and added more effects.

9. AUDIENCE APPEAL
I have made
the video fast
pace to appeal
to the target
audience
Dark tones to appeal
to the target
audience with the
desaturation
Actions towards
the camera help
to show the
aggression of
the chosen
trackThe constant
movement which is
seen in a lot of
these kind of
videos
Transition of the punch to convey
the aggression of the song
appealed to the audience
Gothic style which
matches the genre
conventions
11. FEEDBACK 1
What did you like about the product?
I liked the old retro style of the video
I liked the transition of the punch
I liked how the actor was dressed
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
There wasn’t much of a story or narrative
The red in the chorus was a bit to light of a colour and didn’t have a
retro style to it
12. FEEDBACK 2
What did you like about the product?
I liked the transitions
Liked the camera work
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
The dog barking and how it cuts out and doesn’t fade out
13. FEEDBACK 3
What did you like about the product?
Liked the unique use of editing and colour to give it an gothic and dark
feeling
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
Experiment more with editing capabilities so it can add to the style of
the video for example, more reverse clips.
14. PEER FEEDBACK SUMMARY
What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree with the dog barking and that it cut out without a good
transition
the transition of the punch because it had to be timed right
That there wasn’t a retro effect over the chorus
Use of colours give the video a gothic and dark feel
Experiment more with editing capabilities
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
That there wasn’t any narrative because the video was not intended
to have a narrative
That the chorus wasn’t red enough all the other reds were too harsh
and made the footage hard too see
15. PEER FEEDBACK SUMMARY
I would try to change the dog overlay and make it a smoother
transition out of it instead of being a hard jump. I would also
put a retro effect over the chorus since it makes the video look
consistent. I will also try to experiment with my editing.
