3. The good thing about gathering secondary research before making the
product is that it allowed me to look at already existing products and
analyse techniques that they have used and that I could add into my own
project. It allowed me to use them for inspiration, for example with the
camera work I could see how a real music video would look with angles. This
helped me to make it look more appealing and professional. It also showed
me what modern day videos looked like to make it appeal to the audience
more. With researching different videos I was able to also see different
layouts to different genres and how other people portray their ideas. This
allowed me to see aspects of it and how the creators put their ideas in so
that it told the viewer what the video was about so they know the story. This
was my secondary research as I was using products already made by other
people. I made a mood board to start with where I explored different ideas
that I could do for the video. This allowed me to start thinking about what I
wanted to do and so that I could start thinking about who the audience will
be, the use of colours and camera angles, if I was going to use any effects. I
found doing this was helpful as I could start thinking of different ideas and
by doing this it inspired me with different aspects for each. As there are
many good things about the research I did, there was also some weaknesses.
The bad thing about doing the research was that I was limited to the amount
of space that I had so I couldn't expand about a certain point and say how
and why I might use that desired idea. If I made the research again I could
use a different website so that I had more room so I could write more about
the product and expand about how I will use it in my project. I also found

4. PLANNING
To plan my final products I first made a mind maps on bubbl.us for three
different ideas that I could make. I decided to use bubbl.us as it gave me room
to expand on ideas and allowed me to arrange it so it wasn’t messy. With this
mind map I wanted to think about what the video would be about and any
techniques and camera work I would use. For example if I would chose a rap
genre or classical. After I figured out what the video ideas could be I then
focused on audience and who I was going to be aiming the product act. I did this
second as I would then know who to aim it for, then I could think about the
genre, colour schemes and name possibilities that could be appealing to the
audience. As part of my planning I created a story board for my chosen song.
With this I was able to make a scene by scene view of how I was wanting it to
look. I liked this as I was able to start to get a visual of the project. I also started
looking at locations that I could film. With this I went to locations that look like
what I will be filming in near by and got photos to make a shot list and write
about what I like about the location that I want to be in the video such as signs. I
created a structural breakdown of the song lyrics and I broke it down into each
section and wrote about what the lyrics mean and how this will linkup to the
video. I found that this was helpful as the lyrics helped me to come up with
things that I could show in the video for example the song lyrics in the book at
the very end. Finally, my final bit of planning was making the Rip-o-matic. I
found that this was the most helpful part of my planning as I was able to go the
the locations that I was thinking of filming and film little sections. This also
allowed me to sync the music up with the clips to make it smooth and to practice
how it might look. By doing this I was able to fully see how the video will start to
look and by doing this I could see what I didn’t like about filming in a location.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT
I felt like I have managed my time well and I successfully finished my
production work on time. I think that I gave myself to many different
projects to complete in the time that I was given. For example I tried to
keep changing the audio until it sounded better. I could of also saved
time if I didn’t change the song last minuet, If I decided to use the
current song at the start I would have had more time to add some
effects to make better and more professional, and I would have had
time to edit the music with cleaner pitch change The projects I had left
till last didn’t get as much attention as the ones I did first because I was
running out of time. I
also feel that the video is up
to a good detail but if I
improved how I did my
planning and got my sources
earlier on then I would have had more
time to make it better. I do feel
like I managed my time well but if I
did this again then I could to
stick to the time management
plan that I made a lot better
as I wouldn’t have been as
rushed and I could have made
6. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
With my work I found that my video was very good
visually and with audio. I liked that the video makes
sense and has a story to it. I also found that I used
techniques such as changing the saturation makes the
video more interesting as it helps to link in with a story. I
could have made the camera work a bit better as it was
blurred at times. I could have sorted this by focusing the
camera just before recording. I also find that the lighting
was too much at times. This could have been fixed by
changing the lights round. I like the audio pitch change
and think that it is smooth

SUMMARY
If I made this project again I would add a few extra
things and do other parts differently. Firstly I would
try stick to the plan as I wasted some time trying to
think of a new idea, this meant that I had to rush
the editing. I also found that because I change the
song I had to find new places to change the scenes
which took more time. I also would change the
tempo a little bit so it was slower as this would
make it more sad which is the aim.
