3. RESEARCH
Strengths:
● One strength was the research done on the software used ‘Adobe Premiere Pro’. The research I did
was very useful as by the time I needed to edit it went much quicker which was very helpful for the
time management.
● Research was also done on where to set the video, this was another strong point as the setting
looks very good and also is fitting for the music used. This research also helped pick out the nicest
parts of the area we filmed at (Filey) to make the setting match the video as much as possible.
Weaknesses:
● One aspect of my research that could have been improved is the amount of research done on the
camera. This made filming quite a bit longer as I needed to adjust camera settings most shots.
4. PLANNING
I do believe my filming was planned well, but did not have a second plan if the first one
didn't go as planned. The planning helped my filming as a good location was chosen and I
knew each section of the location I wanted to be filmed and was allowed to film in each
location successfully.
I had planned to get equipment through college which I did not plan this very well as I
booked the equipment quite late and couldn’t get any, I also did not have a backup plan for
equipment which was quite a big set back.
I had also planned what I wanted to do with editing very well as I was able to edit my video
fairly quickly. This was done while I could not film so I could use the time I could not film
efficiently.
Overall I believe the planning should have been improved as the original plan was good
but the lack of a backup plan made filming quite difficult.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT
Time management for filming was very poor and should be improved if this is ever done
again. This was because there were many different factors that could and did slow down
me being able to film. For example since the location I wanted to film at was so far away I
had to plan transport and had to make sure everyone I needed to go could go in advance.
This created a lot of issues with time with no backup plans. I did eventually film but much
later than I would have liked to which created time issues when editing.
The editing was managed quite well despite the lack of time given due to the problems with
filming. Since I had longer to wait to film, it gave me much more time to prepare my editing
so I could do it as quickly and as efficiently as possible. This helped improve the time
management significantly despite the big delay.
If I had more time to produce my work I would have got more footage to film with to help
create the best video possible. As I had many problems filming I was not able to grab as
much footage as I would have liked too.
6. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
The lighting used during
shots in the music video
is used very well to drive
focus on the character in
the video.
In my video the lighting
is used more to show
the setting as well as
the camera, this is
through the natural
sunlight unlike the
lighting in the other
video.
This shot also is heavily
focused on the person in
shot and the background
is heavily blurred.
My video is very
different as the whole
shot is in focus to
make the view watch
the whole setting
unlike the other
example video.
7. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA 2
One similarity our videos share if
the use of repetition in our videos
storytelling.
My shots can also be repetitive to tell a story
like the example used, this is done by using
shots that are very similar to others with slight
changes to make it different still.
8. TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
One way editing is used here is having
multiple of the same person in one shot.
My work was different too this as
whenever I needed multiple people I
used different people, unedited.
9. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
I believe my work looked good and had elements of creativity. I really like the look of the
setting used in the video and the text used in the video. I would expand on the filming
location if I were to improve as I would use the whole beach unlike the small portion used
in the video. This could be done through more filming time so we could move across the
beach freely with no time limit to film.
10. AUDIENCE APPEAL
I feel like I have appealed my target audience through the elements of story in the video, which
can make the video much more interesting. It appeals to the younger audience due to the
bright colours. The story elements can also be ignored so you can just focus in on the visuals
which may make some people enjoy it even more.

15. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
Overall I would agree with nearly all the feedback given.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
The feedback I would disagree with is the feedback with video transitions as I
do not think they would be as fitting as cutting between shots like I did in my
video.
16. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
The main thing I would change from the feedback given is to increase the
amount of editing used, this could have improved how the videos looked and
make the moving shots look a lot smoother and more appealing.
I would also extend the length of the video based on the feedback so I would
make sure I got more shots while filming. This would then fit in the whole
song and tell a better story for the audience.
