LSC MEN’S BASKETBALL
Texas A&M-Kingsville, Angelo State, West Texas A&M, and Texas A&M-Commerce remain undefeated in non-conference
action.
The LSC men have a 27-12 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams are
currently 6-4 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 16-5 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
David Chavlovich, West Texas A&M University, SR, Guard, Arlington, Texas, Bowie HS
Chavlovich dropped a career-high 40 points in the 92-88 win over Adams State in the first game of the Al Kaly Classic and
followed with 14 points - all in the second half of a big comeback by the Buffs for a thrilling 91-80 win at CSU-Pueblo.
WT was down by as many as 14 in the first half. For the week, he went 16 of 31 from the field, 7 of 17 from beyond the
arc and 15 of 18 from the line. He went a career-best 13 of 18 from the field against Adams State with six triples and 8
of 10 from the line as he tied the fourth-most points scored in a game in school history by a Buff. After not scoring in
the first half and having three fouls, Chavlovich scored 14 points in the final 10 minutes in the win over CSU-P as he had
four rebounds and eight assists, while being clutch down the stretch from the line going 7 of 8.
DEFENSIVE
Gaige Prim, West Texas A&M University, FR, Guard, Aurora, Colo., Grandview HS
Prim had an outstanding week as he recorded his first double-double of his career in a come-from-behind win at CSU-
Pueblo, 91-80. He scored 10 points and 10 rebounds, while pulling down nine huge defensive rebounds in the game as
the Buffs battled back from a 14-point deficit for the win. For the week, he was 10 of 16 from the field (.625) and 3 of 5
from the line, while averaging a team-high 7.5 rebounds with three blocks and one steal. Prim went 4 of 5 from the field
at CSU-P and 2 of 3 from the line with two key blocks in the contest coming off the bench as five Buffs scored in double
figures for the game. He added five boards, one block and one steal in the victory over Adams State.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Trey Sumpter, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, had the hot hand in Pueblo, Colo. as he averaged 20 points per
game, shooting 62.5 percent from the floor and made 10-of-12 three-pointers at the Al Kaly Shrine Classic Tournament.
Sumpter opened the tournament with a 23-point performance where he made 7-of-8 triples in the 82-64 win against
host CSU-Pueblo. Then versus Adams State, he dropped 17 points and pulled down a team-high five rebounds. In the
two games, the senior from Alabama led the team with six rebounds per game and logged one assists, block and steal.
Bryce Elie, Cameron University, led the Aggies last week at the Fairfield Inn Classic as he averaged 19 points in 1-1
split. In the win over Central Missouri, who went into the week receiving votes in the national poll, the senior scored 11
points on 4-8 shooting from the field in just 18 minutes of play. Elie followed that up with a 27 point outing against
Maryville. He was very efficient, going 9-14 from the field, 3-5 from three, and 6-7 from the free throw line. Elie was big
in the Aggies second half comeback, scoring 17 of his 27 points during the final 20 minutes of play. CU's big man is
ranked sixth in the LSC in field goal percentage and 13th in scoring.
Willie McCray, Western New Mexico, averaged 18 points per game as he went for a high of 25 points in the win
against Southwest. He made 7-15 from the field, along with a pair of three-pointers, four rebounds and three steals. He
also reached double-figures against New Mexico Highlands with 11 points. He shot well from the field for the week
making 50 percent and 60 percent from three.
Brandon Williams, Angelo State University, did a phenomenal job leading the Rams to two victories this week. The
Houston native led the Rams offense this past week from short range and 3-5 from the charity stripe to score 33 total
points. He tallied double-figures in both games, dropping in 14 versus Arlington Baptist and marking a season high 19
versus regional foe St. Edward's. Against the Hilltoppers Williams went 8-12 from inside the arch and 3-5 from the stripe.
Defensively, he pocketed four steals and a team leading four blocks on the week. The forwards also added a squad third
most 10 total boards.
Josh Hawley, Tarleton State University, had 16 points for the Texans in a 71-63 loss to Central Oklahoma. Hawley
shot 50 percent from the floor and a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line. Hawley had nine rebounds, including four on
the offensive end.
Latrell Spivey, Western New Mexico, nearly went for a double-double in both games as he scored 15 points and
added 10 rebounds against Southwest. He then came away with 13 points and nine rebounds against New Mexico
Highlands. Spivey also had three assists, a block and two steals. He connected on 54 percent from the field as well.
Brandon Williams, Angelo State University, led the Rams defense in a pair of wins this past week. The senior not
only pocketed a total of four steal and four blocks, but he pulled down a total of 10 boards. His season high four blocks
came during a single game as the Rams downed St. Edward's. Offensively, the Houston native led the Rams offense this
past week from short range and 3-5 from the charity stripe to score 33 total points. He tallied double-figures in both
games, dropping in 14 versus Arlington Baptist and marking a season high 19 versus regional foe St. Edward's.
Brandon Johnson, Tarleton State University, in his first game of the season, stepped on the court and made an
immediate impact defensively for Tarleton. After the Texans trailed by as much as 24 to Central Oklahoma, Johnson
came in and had four steals in a two minute span that started an 11-0 run and cut the lead to single digits late in the
second half. Johnson helped Tarleton outscore UCO by 10 in the second half and held the Bronchos to 34 percent
shooting and 27 percent on 3-pointers. Johnson finished with nine points and five steals.

Angelo State

3. Angelo State hosted its annual Ed Messbarger Classic this week. The Rams went 2-0 in the classic and remained
undefeated on the season (4-0) with the wins. ASU now looks forward to a quick road trip to San Antonio to face St.
Mary's before it heads back to the Junell Center to play host to Central Baptist College (Arkansas) and Lubbock Christian
for it first Thanksgiving Tournament.
Cameron
Cameron split their games last week against two very good teams at the Fairfield Inn Classic. In their win over Central
Missouri, CU shot over 50 percent from the field and the perimeter while hitting on 16 of 20 free throw attempts. Tyus
Momoh led the Aggies with 20 points, while Tyler Williams had 14 and Zach Dumas and Bryce Elie each had 11; Momoh
and Williams each had seven rebounds for CU. Against Maryville a day later, Cameron rallied back from being down nine
with nine minutes to play, but missed their chance to tie the game on a free throw with just one second left on the clock
to fall 83-82. Elie came up big in the comeback, scoring 27 points, while JV Long and Jalen Nicholas each chipped in 13
points.

Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions did not play in a game last week. They return to action on Tuesday with their home opener against Oklahoma
City before a Thanksgiving weekend tournament in San Angelo.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
Texas A&M-Kingsville starts the season 5-0, matching their best start since the 2007-08 season under head coach Pete
Peterson. The Javelinas are paced by a stout defense that leads the league in scoring defense (56.3), turnover margin
(+11), and steals per game (11.33). Trey Sumpter is the primary scorer, averaging 11.4 points per game, 4.4 rebounds
per game, and has seven total steals. TAMUK will have back-to-back home-and-home games with Texas A&M
International on Tuesday, November 21 (Kingsville, Texas) and Friday, November 24 (Laredo).

The No. 21 Buffs remained unbeaten and ran their winning streak to four games to open the season with a pair of wins
at the 34th annual Al Kaly Shrine Classic at Colorado State-Pueblo...The Buffs opened the tournament facing Adams
State for the second time in a week...WT jumped out to an big lead to see the Grizzlies battle back, but the Buffs held on
for a 92-88 win backed by a career-best 40-point performance from senior David Chavlovich as his 40 points tied for
fourth all-time in school history in a game...Chavlovich's previous best was 36 set last season...WT shot .474 from the
field on 64 of 135, while going 23 of 66 from beyond the arc for a .348 clip...WT as 32 of 42 from the line for a .762
average, while pulling down 33.5 rebounds per game and scoring an impressive 91.5 points per game...WT battled back

4. from a 14-point deficit at CSU-Pueblo on Saturday night for a thrilling 91-80 win as WT outscored the ThunderWolves
56-37 in the second half...Senior David Chavlovich scored 14 points all in the second half, while senior Jordan Evans led
the team with 25 points on a career-high seven triples leading five Buffs in double figures...Freshman Gaige Prim
recorded his first double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against CSUP...The Buffs return home to host
Southwestern Christian and Langston following Thanksgiving at the First United Bank Center.
Western New Mexico
The Mustangs stayed close with New Mexico Highlands having played the Cowboys for the second time in five days.
They then came back for their first win of the season against University of the Southwest as they erased an eight-point
deficit to claim the five-point win. Willie McCray, Haneef Vaughn-Wilson and Latrell Spivey paced the offense as all three
averaged in double-figures. Spivey averaged a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. McCray averaged 18
points per game as he went for a high of 25 points in the win against Southwest. He made 7-15 from the field, along with
a pair of three-pointers, four rebounds and three steals. He also reached double-figures against New Mexico Highlands
with 11 points. He shot well from the field for the week making 50 percent and 60 percent from three. Spivey nearly
