The documentary is the main piece of work which I have created but the ancillary tasks help to
contribute the advertisement of the documentary. These pieces of work are both very relevant
to the documentary and help to sell the documentary to different audiences through a range
of platforms.
The advertisement which I created is mainly to advertise the documentary and show briefly
what the documentary is about and a quick look for the audience. Normally, documentary
advertisements are shown on the TV in the advert breaks and are only at the end of the trailer
for the documentary. However, this is a key piece of information for the audience. This is
because this is the main material they go off and what they first know about the documentary.
Therefore, In my advert I have clearly shown off the students and teachers which are going to
be in the documentary. This helps to give the audience a first look into who these people are
and what they look like. Also, I have included the documentary name and have put it in big
font. This is because this is the main part to the advert which people need to know what the
documentary is called, therefore because it is big the audience look at it straight away and is
recognisable.

2. Also, in my advertisement, I have included the timings in which the documentary will be shown.
I have found that many similar documentaries do not do this in there adverts, however I have
done this because it is vital information that the audience need to know in order for them to
watch the documentary. Also, I have included the institution that will show the documentary
also. As well as that, the audience know that the documentary can be interesting and they
can watch it on the television because the institution Is available for them.
The double page spread is another key task which is relevant to the documentary because it
provides further information about the documentary. This works well with the documentary
because the double page spread is an advert for the documentary. This is because the double
page spread includes further information about the documentary so people can find more
information about it before watching. The double page spread which I created includes an
article which I have interviewed one of the staff members that are included in the
documentary. This helps to work well with the documentary because it shows off one of the
members of the school without watching the programme. So the audience now has a better
insight into the documentary because they have read an interview which shows off the staff
members personality. Also in the double page spread there are pictures which show off other
people in the documentary. I have done this because they will be the key members in the
documentary so it is important to show them off and make the audience remember these
people.
