2. What have you learned from your
audience feedback?
For my main task, I uploaded my documentary on YouTube in
order to gather audience feedback so I could analyse if I met
the aims I was working towards i.e. making sure it is
professional. Out of the comments, I captured these 4
people on what they have said and will analyse each one.
3. The first comment I received about my documentary shows that I have
created a professional factual documentary as they said I used accurate
information along with portraying the main topic which is views on Islamic
State. This therefore shows I have met the aim of keeping my documentary
professional as I have used facts that are 100% real which Channel 4
documentaries abide to. Also, the main topic is always presented clearly in
which the audience can understand what the documentary is about and this
person has definitely got the whole gist of what was going on throughout the
video I created. Furthermore, this also shows that I have created a similar
documentary with the correct conventions used and this therefore would keep
an audience interested so she has stated that she enjoyed the video due to
this.
4. The second comment I have received about my documentary
again shows I have met the aim of creating a professional
documentary as they have outlined that I have used factual
knowledge. This plays a key part in many Channel 4
documentaries as they are giving clear information out to the
audience who is watching their programme. This therefore allows
the audience to learn true facts purely on how I presented it
within my documentary. Furthermore, some Channel 4
documentaries contain a variety of opinions in which this user
has addressed that I have opinions from widespread sample. This
indicates I have met another convention of a documentary and
this will outline that I have created a professional documentary.
5. Audience Feedback for Ancillary Texts
For both my ancillary tasks I decided to ask people for feedback using a
questionnaire to find out what the thoughts are and if I have created
professional ones. Out of the responses, I decided to show one person and
will analyse it further. Furthermore, in my questionnaire, I have asked the
audience on what they like and dislike about both the TV listings article
and the newspaper advert.
6. In this response, the person has clearly stated that my article looks like the ones
that are published within existing TV listings magazines. This therefore shows
that I have clearly followed the layout and conventions of a article to ensure
that I meet the aim of being professional throughout the main task and the
ancillary tasks as well. They have also stated that the image I used was
excellent quality and that they liked everything on the article including text
being accurate. This implies that I have provided the audience with a fair
amount of information on the documentary without giving too much away and
therefore again maintains professionalism. Furthermore, this therefore shows
that I have created an article to the best of my ability to ensure it looks like an
article from Radio Times for example.
7. In this response, another person has stated that there is a similarity between a
typical Channel 4 advert and my newspaper advert which therefore shows I have
followed the same style thoroughly. This means I have followed the same
conventions and tried to make it look as professional as possible. They also feel
that the image was very powering which is good as this therefore creates a
suspense for the audience and this means the audience would tune in to watch
the documentary to find out more due to the image being like this. The text has
also been rated as accurate and this shows that I have made it look professional
by using the right information to therefore show the audience when it will be
aired on TV. They also gave some points to improve on which are minor and
does not affect the professionalism of the advert.
