2. Intentions for product and have I achieved
this
My intentions from the beginning of the project has been to better improve the wildlife issue that is being faced, I planned on doing this by talking to Yorkshire wildlife
trust and making them a video that we decided upon. The video itself actually achieves what it was set out to do in my opinion actually showing nature and then
adding a short little message which is abrupt and not hard to forget so its easier for the attended target audience. My Yorkshire Wildlife advert is a linear narrative
advert because it just keeps telling a story with a beginning, middle and an end, it has absolutely no special effects, for example a flashback. It is also a realistic
narrative because nothing which is filmed or said is made up in any way, I did this to keep it fairly simple but most times simple is better, especially in the case of
wildlife. The only factor of persuasion used is reward power: the product promises some positive benefit, which it does it makes out that wildlife is better to care for
and nobody should not care and support the cause, I did this too link with. This advert was pretty good and could not be changed in many ways apart from the one
shot where the camera has a shadow in it and its inconsistent as well as their being a misspell later on in the fact section of the project. This was filmed outside on a
flat field so there wasn’t too much to worry about in the background, the only concern was the background colours changing depending on the weather so I adjusted
them all too a similar colour on every shot using the options in premier as well as the effects for lighting and such on the camera which I can now use a lot better and
have learned lots about. Maybe to change my advert for the better I could have included some better effects and such, for example, after the shots I could have
included some special effects such as fades and such but I thought that it was good were it was at and decided not to change anything. This suited the target audience
well and I think that it will be very popular with them mainly because it is short and simple and the screen is visually appealing its not to bright or dark and their isn't
much going on screen to focus on. My strengths for this project I believe would be the editing I really enjoyed that and it is my favourite part and In my opinion I
segwayed it rather well and the client seems to think so too.
3. Client
To start off with the process of working with my client I first had emails with them as a group of people. The emails then established a meeting time and place where I
went to discuss the project and what I would be creating I first had to have an idea before I went though so I brainstormed and then brought some of these ideas along
with me because otherwise they would've declined me. At this meeting we came to the conclusion that I would make a video of 60-90 seconds about wildlife for the
intended target audience of the older generation which is already the trusts target audience. Wildlife is a topic for this older generation so we discussed at this meeting
if it would be possible to get the other age demographics a way to be involved which is how as a group we came up with the idea. The client really liked the idea of this
and gave some guidelines but other than that I was free to make pretty much what I pleased, what I made is appropriate for the client because it meets their criteria
and brief which they provided. Working with a client was okay and gave me a sense of the real world and what it would be like working which was good for experience
and I think I will definitely need to do it again to develop this further. I made sure that my video was appropriate towards the client by including in shots of wildlife
which is what the company is all about. If I had more time I would've developed further projects for wildlife trust maybe by even doing tasks such as improving there
website which could be a possibility. The project was also appropriate for my audience I made this possible by making it short and not too bright or dark to hurt the
consumers eyes, it was also very easy to understand and simple allowing the audience to feel sympathetic. My only downside is the text which I believe should be
made bigger so it is easier to read for those with sight deficiency.
4. Comparison
The video that I compared to is another one made by the wildlife trust. This video includes some similar aspects to mine which include interviews and certain shots of nature. A
similarity would be an establishing shot Some people will start with a mid or wide shot to inform the viewer of the location or situation and to help them get their bearings. My video
started with looking at a sign for a nature reserve this existing one starts by looking up from the floor of a forest. Transitions are another thing that these videos have in common, the
transitions are not used because it makes the shots of the tranquil background turn into a mess. Continuing from their entire theme which seems to be the same throughout in all of
the forms of advertising, I have stuck with the serious and caring line of appeal, again they use this because it attracts the attention of the audience more by being serious and making
an audience feel sad at its sight, it makes them care, making them more interested in supporting the cause.

This wildlife advert does not have any similarities in it with my advert really at all and I couldn't really find any other adverts which have a similarity with my advert which in a sense is
very good. It means that my advert is unique and different to all others so it has its own style but its over all the sense and message is the same as every other wildlife TV advert. All
Wildlife trust adverts tend too be a lot more sadder than mine, sticking with their theme but I think although my theme is different it conveys the message across just as well and could
be used as one of wildlife trusts actual TV adverts. My video does not have any special effects just like other adverts so I have created a very similar style to already existing ones. These
adverts really have some factors of persuasion because it is presented as pain or punishment on Britain's wildlife, as well as it not being presented by an expert or associated with a
celebrity or nature carer, which is again the style that they go with, they do this to make it special and unique, and you cant really find an Tv ad that’s the same as another.
These are some great
existing products which I
have viewed and used to
make my work by
comparing.
I filmed mine in winter so I
could have made it different
by using a seasonal event
unfortunately it didn’t snow
but that is an idea for my
client which I could pass on.
5. Action plan for my FMP
For my FMP I am going to do a lot more work than these two projects because its longer but I didn't feel as if id done enough of work on these two projects before my
FMP. Next time I will work on better time management because I do not feel it has been great on these projects. For my FMP I am not actually planning on doing
anything film or television wise, my plan for the project is too make concepts of a video game, this is because it is my passion and I want to do this in my life and I
think that I am good at it and can create some great content. I will however be using the exact same software which includes drawing up characters and scenes for
change in Photoshop. Mostly with these projects I find them harder to get an idea and then focus on it and create something exceptional so I am going to pick
something which I am good at but still make it challenging for myself to show whoever is viewing my work what I can do. When it comes to research and pretty much
everything else in this next project I am going to put 110% in and make triple the work I usually do all at the same level which in turn I think will give me a really good
grade for this project. For my FMP I received some information which could be useful, I am going to make drafts for my project and the first drafts should always be
longer than any intended time set and this just makes it easier to choose your video more wisely and get it just right for the audience.
