1. Tuesday Assure:
Analyze Learners:
My class is a heterogeneous mixture of both male and female fifth grade students. There are 13 girls and
9 boys. 40% of the class is African American and the other 60% are Caucasian. My students have no
learning capabilities or physical/mental impairments at all.
State Objectives:
Students will continue to learn and practice multiplication and division by creating a visual study tool
displaying the terms. Students will provide a definition and an example of each term. Students will
complete this in one day with 100% accuracy.
Select Methods, Media, and Material:
Since my students will have access to a computer and have the ability to manipulate technology, they
have the option of doing an online visual (poster) or a paper bi-fold. I will have them look on Pinterest
(with my account) for ideas on how to make their visuals a helpful study tool.
Utilize Media and Materials:
Before I release the students to go to work, I will provide them with a brief tutorial on how to use
Pinterest as a search engine and how to use a blank Power Point document to create a poster. I will then
discuss exactly what I am looking for, but with their creativity. This assignment is to be a study tool – this
is an in class assignment. I will show them an example of a poster I have created and a tri-fold from
Pinterest. Students will work together on this assignment by helping and
checking each other’s made-up examples.
2. Require Learner Participation:
After each student has completed their tri-fold or poster, they will present them to the class. By doing
this, they are giving further examples for students to add to their assignment and/or fix something they
may have missed.
Evaluate and Revise:
To evaluate my students, I will watch how they interact throughout creating the assignment and how
they develop an understanding of the lesson. I will also pay close attention to how they show the class
that they have grasped the concepts of multiplication and division.
