1. ASSURE Method: Friday
Analyze Learners: Students will be in 10
th
grade, and there will be 11 females and 9 males. This
course is an Honors Biology class. There are 14 Caucasian students, 4 African American
students, and 2 Hispanic students in this class. Due to the fact this is an optional honors course;
no students require modifications or special accommodations.
State Objectives: Students will be able to build and create a poster and robot relating to the
scientists and the unit that they have been learning on evolution by the end of the day with an
accuracy of 90% through the use of a YouTube Video, Poster, and Robotics.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials: The students will come into the class and sit down
quietly. I will show them the YouTube video I created on scientists I will show the students the
poster that I created and will ask them and teach them how to make their own. I will also
describe the concepts of robotics and show them a video and picture of my own robot. The class
will then be able to pick if they want to make a poster or create a robot for the summative
assessment. I will end with a discussion about where evolution is going in the future.
Utilize Materials and Methods: I will test and make sure every piece of technology is working
properly prior to the assignment. I will scaffold students and answer any questions they may
have in regards to the new technology. I will prepare all needed materials prior to the class.
Require Learner Participation: Students are required to participate in the activities for the day.
The students must complete either a poster or robot today. If they do not get done we will have
extra time on Monday. The students must actively participate and must work at all times
throughout the class. I will be there to help if there is any confusion.

2. Evaluation and Revision: The students receive their daily grade of one point for participation
today. They also will receive 40 points for their final presentation of this unit either the poster or
the robot. I feel as if giving the students the choice will help them be more successful I want
them to utilize and demonstrate what they have learned throughout the unit. I would lecture or
give them an oral test if the material did not go as planned.
