3. Research
• The strengths of my research were I was able to find ideas for my front
cover by using existing product magazines like vogue, Elle and ideal
homes this helped me to expand my ideas on the page and develop the
magazines even more therefore I had a better understanding when
creating my final front cover I had thought about the most common
designs that had been used and why they had been used. The audience
profile also helped my product because it split up my audience as I didn’t
fully know what my social status was and psychographic but when filling
this table in at the end I knew what my exact audience would be.
However, the weaknesses are we mostly did secondary research which
was only looking online and I didn’t always know the logo names for
each magazines to search up and would have rather wanted to speak to
someone with ideas on my exact theme for inspiration, therefore I think
this would have helped develop my product even more.
4. Planning
• Within planning my final product I looked at different fonts and colour
schemes that would match for homes and interior design genre and
which would appeal to my audience, I gathered together a mood board
of images that are similar to what I am wanting to create this was very
helpful. I also created a layout plan for the magazine cover and two page
spread, this involved the title and base images this made it easier for
when I made the real thing. I had already planed efficiently of how I was
going to plan out timing and in what order this made it a lot easier for
me.my weakness that I struggled with filling was the safety hazards and
the potential issues because I found it difficult to think of that many. I
also believe that if I had planned earlier on I would have a lot more time
than I had.
5. Time Management
• Next, I think I managed my time very well and successfully and I finished
both of my final products at the correct timing, however I think I
overcrowded myself with completing too many tasks all at once which
made it eve more difficult for me and ended up resulting in having to
finish extra work at home. I also think if I would have made my planning
a bit more efficiently because I didn’t fully know what there name of my
product was until creating it o photoshop which made me struggle last
minute. If I would have been given more time I would definitely focus on
my process and photoshop skills and developed them even more
especially my two page spread because I left this one last and rushed the
process.
6. Technical Qualities
.
Both magazines are similar because on
the front cover they both have a main
image background attracting the
audience and have a pug with a number
amount on this, I think the fonts are
also the very same style. The two-page
spreads are similar because they have
both talk about a specific person,
celebrity and the layout is similar with
writing and a range of images.
However they have a few differences, the
colour schemes on the front covers are
very different because my front cover is
neutral, calm colours whereas on the
existing product the colours are more
vibrant and a lot more saturated. My
product also includes a lot more
information around it and is packed. I also
think the two-page spreads have a
different colour schemes and the layouts
of where the text and images are placed
are very different on each.

7. Aesthetic Qualities
I think my final products are really creative and I
love my outcomes to both the front cover and
two page spread, I have kept with my exact plan
within my PowerPoints and colour schemes. If I
was to improve my final piece I would focus and
add boxes in my text to make my double page
spread look more professional. I think that the
best thing I made for this product was my front
cover because I am so happy with the outcome
and it has improved my photoshop skills as I
have learned a lot more for example I struggled
with editing the fonts whereas now I change
specific lighting and add tones to them. I think
my biggest strength was keeping the same plan
idea and layouts because It didn’t waste as much
time because I already knew how it would
exactly turn out and how to produce this.
However I think my weakness was rushing
through my two page spread and didn’t focus
much on what I was writing instead I was
focusing more on the design and layout.
8. Audience Appeal
The overall audience that my finished magazine would appeal to is an age range of
25-54 as people will be financially independent at this age and mostly targeted at
females because more females prefer to look for ideas in a magazine for designing
there home. My social and psychographics would appeal to achievers and
balanced, this is because achievers focus on individuality and power which relates
to them wanting inspiration to design there own home themselves the way they
want it .I also think balanced because this mixes with achievers and social
conscious groups which benefits everyone therefore will benefit my magazine.
Although, not everyone will be interested in my game because they might not like
certain styles or ideas in the magazine and might prefer their own creations inside
of getting ideas.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the colours scheme, very
– eye catchy and good images.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Change font on the double page spread because
its difficult to read at a far distance.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
The front cover is very realistic and eye catching.
– The layout is good
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• The font I can not read o the double page
speed . The double page spread is dull.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– Its very professional
– Its very eye catching
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– The font is hard to read
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree with that my final cover did look professional
especially my front cover because I spent the most
time on this and that my layout was clear and good.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– However the only reason it is hard to read the text is
because the image wasn’t in full size when I collected
the feedback so if this was printed off you would be
able to read the text on my double two page spread
clearly.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
Overall, the changes I would make to my finished product
from the feedback would be to maybe use more bolder fonts
for both my front page and two page spread and make sure
the fonts stand out fully as I used a lot of script fonts which are
sometimes difficult to read. I would also spend more time on
my two page spread because this is what I rushed with as it
was the last thing I completed and I would make sure to add
more detail for example maybe add borders around the text
with colour so it would stand out.
