From looking at this graphI canunderstandthat the
majorityof people whoansweredmysurveywere aged 13-
18: this is probablydue to the fact that most of the people
that I sent the surveyto are in that age category. I think13
-20 year olds are a suitable target audience for my
magazine as I will understandhow to appealto their likes,
thus making the magazine more popular.
It’sclear that mostof the surveyparticipants
are females,I’mgoingtomake mytarget
audience femalessothatI can researchthe
psychographicfurther.I’ll findoutthe most
popularinterests,likesanddislikessothatI can
cater to whatappealstothem, e.g.an attractive
actor.
The majorityof the participantsare
unemployed,whichislikelydue tobeingtoo
youngand busywitheducation.Iwouldlike to
have 13 -20 yearoldsas my targetaudience,as
the majoritywill have more free time to
indulge intheirhobbiesandmusical interests.
Judgingbythe typesof jobsthat the
participantsare employedin,Iimagine that
these people are still ineducation:thisgivesme
confidence inmydecisiontohave atarget
audience of people aged13– 18.
Most of the people involvedinthe
surveydon’ttend toread music
magazines.I’mgoingtomake the
magazine boldandexcitingwith
informationaboutcelebrities
trending,etc.
As I previouslymentioned,Iwill have to
make an attemptto reach outto the
target audience inaunique way.I’ll have
to do a lotof researchaboutthe general
psychographicsanddemographics.
The most commonanswersare rock, R&B and indie/
indie pop:therefore,Iwill make mymagazine revolve
arounda hybridof indie andindie popmusicgenres.
Most people statedthatthey
wouldn’tpaymore than£2, so I will
make my magazine be £1.50 to
seemaffordable,encouragingmore
people topurchase the magazine.
Everyone statedthattheyknowQ
magazine,soI will take inspirationfrom
theirdesignandsubjectmatters; inhope to
make my magazine well known.
The purpose of my marketresearchwas togather informationaboutpopularinterests,likesand
dislikesinthe magazineindustry.Iwantto identifythe mostfavouredgenresof musicsothatI can
