The document discusses the results of a questionnaire given to 10 people to help determine the target audience for a music magazine. Key findings include:
- 30% of respondents preferred the indie music genre, suggesting an indie magazine would have broad appeal.
- The magazine masthead was the most attractive design element to readers.
- Interviews were the most interesting content for readers.
The target audience is envisioned as 16-21 year olds, "hipster" style. Examples images provided represent the envisioned typical male and female readers.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Objective:
Prepare a presentation or a paper using research, basic comparative analysis, data organization and application of economic information. You will make an informed assessment of an economic climate outside of the United States to accomplish an entertainment industry objective.
1. WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR
YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
Evaluation Question Four
2. This is the analysis of the results I gathered from my music magazine
questionnaires I conducted. In order to have an idea of what sort of
magazine I should create, I needed to have a clear knowledge of what kind
of people I wanted to aim my magazine at, how much they would be
willing to pay for a music magazine, what sort of things would attract
them to a music magazine and so forth. I gave out 10 questionnaires to a
wide range of people; some to my peers in college, some to my friends
outside of school and some to my brother and his friends, which gave me a
large sample size, rather than having people answer it at school as I didn’t
want the results of my questionnaire to be generalized and biased. I
handed out my questionnaire equally among the participants to make the
data collected much more valid; I did this by giving 5 of the questionnaires
to boys and 5 to girls; I also gave 5 to people in the age group of 16-18yrs
and 5 to 19-21yrs. I did this so my magazine could have a wide range of
participants.
3. Here are some of the results I gathered from
the questionnaire...
4. WHAT GENRES OF MUSIC ARE YOU INTO?
The genre that came out the most votes, with 30% of
the participants, was the Indie genre. Making an indie
magazine seemed like the obvious choice due to its
popularity.
5. WHAT ATTRACTS YOU TO A MUSIC MAGAZINE?
The options for this question were either, the masthead, the
special features or the celebrity on the cover. The masthead
came out on top, understandably as it’s typically the first
thing you notice when looking through all of the magazines
in a stand. So when I was creating my masthead I wanted to
create a sort of counter type, as I didn’t just want to make it
big and bold like the typical indie magazine, I wanted to
make it different. This is why I feel as though I achieved that
with my masthead, as it is interesting and will most
definitely become prominent amongst other magazines.
6. WHAT INTERESTS YOU IN A MUSIC MAGAZINE?
The majority answered that the interviews were the thing
that grabbed their attention. This is why I created the
story about ‘Evangeline Little’; her story is raw and really
unique, as the only other person I can think of who
became a huge success from YouTube was Justin Bieber.
7. Although I only gave my questionnaire to a sample
of 10 people, I had to make generalizations in order
to have an idea of what my participants prefer. If I
was a larger company creating a magazine I would
create a much larger sample size than 10 people, so
I have the perfect idea of what people want from a
music magazine.
8. THE TYPES OF MAGAZINES MY TARGET AUDIENCE
MIGHT LIKE.
NME SPIN Q
9. AGE
I wanted my target age group to
be around 16-21yrs old. I chose to
do this age range, because it give
me a much larger readership and
also I still think up to the age of
21yrs, they would be interested in
some of the things that a 16yr old
is into.
10. THIS IS HOW I THINK MY
FEMALE READERS WOULD
LOOK LIKE.
The picture to the left is of two famous models, Cara
Delevigne and Jordan Dunn. Cara is a prime example
of someone who might be interested in my magazine,
as she is in my target age group; she is 20yrs old. She
also dresses like a stereotypical ‘hipster’. I would say
that this is what I picture my female readers to be
like.
11. THIS IS HOW I THINK
MY MALE READERS
WOULD LOOK LIKE.
The picture to the right is Dan
Smith. Even though he isn’t within
my target age group he is the sort
of person I would picture that
would want to read my magazine.
I would say that some of my male
readers would most likely be a
stereotypical ‘hipster’.
