Existing Product
In this existing product for Rolex they have made the watch more aimed at adventure
in this instance it’s for sailors and they have made this clear through the imagery of
the waves, boats and ropes in the images. This is to attract the more adventurous
customers to this product, and we can tell that this product is for the higher class as
it’s an expensive watch and this draws the audience into the product as it makes it
more of an exclusive luxury item to have, this then encourages the more fortune
audience to buy this watch. Furthermore the watch is leading exciting adventures that
you can have through the use of the camera angle as in the images of the watch the
watch is always at an angle facing north this is portraying an image for the audience
that the adventure that they could have is forward and that it will interest the
audience.
The producer of these images have made sure to show the words ‘yatch master’ this
will drive the higher class into purchasing this product as they will know that other
people will not be able to afford this, we can also tell that they are pushing the higher
class into buying it as they are very expensive and not many people will be bale to buy
but they have also used ‘as all professional sailors know’, this will make the target
audience desire this watch by these words as they want everyone to know that they
have the best in live. This watch brand have been very smart as they have
demonstrated that they are trying to sell the big brand name not so much the watch
as they want to make this stand out more than everything so when the audience buy
this watch it makes others desire this watch as they know themselves that it’s very
exclusive.
The producer of this watch has made it stand out by adding shadows and gradients to
this watch as they have made sure that you can see the name, they have added the
darker colors on the opposite side to the name and as it’s coming across to the other
side it gets lighter and lighter. They haven’t only just done this to make the name
stand out and not thinking about where there putting the gradients and shadows, as
where the logo is where it’s the brightest they have made it so the name of the brand
is overlooking the sea where all the boats are this is to illustrate to the audience that
this is for high class people and to show that there are a lot of adventure that you can
have.
Existing Product
For this watch Rolex GMT- master 2, the producer of these products has made sure to
portray to the target audience that it’s an expensive watch and very exclusive, it also
tells the audience that with this watch its very smart and for adventure as these
images link to adventure in a luxury lifestyle. The audience can see this thro the
images in the videos as its shows a pilot wearing one, and in one of the images it
shows the watch on a world map. This effects there target audience into wanting one
of these watches as it makes the product seem priceless as it’s above the world and
that nothing is better than this watch, this is great for it’s consumers as this will
persuade them into buying the product as they will want there social status to be as
high as possible as it will be giving them power as they know they have something
that everyone wants.
Once again this brand ‘Rolex’ has been smart when when portraying the watch on top
of the world as the first thing you notice is the brands name this makes Rolex seem
superior to other brands such as ‘Hugo boss’. The producer has made sure to make the
name of the brand very clear in every image and to make sure that there is something
flashy in the scene as well as they have a pilot wearing one, an expensive car as well
this makes everyone desire this watch. Furthermore in the advert for this watch we
can tell the higher class will be wanting this watch just by the sound effects in the
video as all we see is the speed meter and the watch and we as the audience can just
hear the roar of the engine this will excite the audience as this sound of the engine
conveys the idea of it being a very expensive
Car that everyone will be wanting. Secondly we can tell that these watches are for the
higher class just by the props that they have in these scenes such as the suits, as
traditionally black suits are what a lot of rich people with high status would wear as
they want everybody to see them, this why Rolex have used this type of clothing to
show that this is for the wealthy. Lastly in these products they have used different
color schemes for each product as when they are relating it to air such as the pilot or
the world map they have utilized a bright color scheme such as blue and white
whereas with the products which are related to cars the producer has used a dark
color scheme such as black, white. The effect of this is to make the color of the watch
stand out and contrast with the colors around it, as this is to make the brand name be
more eye catching for the audience.
Existing Product
In this product which is related to ’Bentley’ the producer has utilized this car to
portray to the audience the expense of the watch and this will draw all the high class
into this product, and make the lower classes desire the watch and the people wearing
it. The producer has also created this effect upon the higher class as the first thing that
catches your eye when looking at this product is David Beckham as even the higher
class will idolize him, and want to have what he has. As everyone will know is that
David Beckham will have a lot more money than everyone else which means he will
have a lot of power over people this I what drives the higher class to follow in the
footsteps of him and will copy what he wears to have the same effect on people.
The photograph for this product is based on David Beckham, but to make the higher
class believe that he has money the producer has also added a Bentley into the scene
which is a very expensive car compared to others, this will make the higher class
idealize him and want to have what he has. As the audience we can also tell that he
has power through the use of the background of the airstrip field behind him as
Beckham and the car will be stopping cars from landing on this airstrip shows that he
has power over people. Furthermore this is clearly portrayed by the quote of ‘the
essence of Britain’, this makes it seem as though he is showing people what someone
in Britain should own and the power we have, this will be making everyone in Britain
Who is in the higher class want to own all of these products to prove that they have
money and to be a stereotypical high class British citizen.
Secondly, with the pose of David Beckham showing off his car and watch shows that
these luxury items are good enough for him this will make others want to feel the
same way about these products and be happy to stand there and show off. As the
audience we can tell that he is showing of his items through the title of the watch and
car this is making these products more appealing and eye catching for the audience as
it makes it more desirable.
Existing Product
In this product the audience can tell that these products are for the higher class as
they will be unavailable to buy one of these items as they are too much that is why
there target audience is for the higher class. This will interest the higher class audience
as cars and watches have similarities for example this car the Bentley goes with the
watch breitling as this makes a match this will excite the audience as it will make them
look like they have more power and will make the overall look better.
The producer of these image has made these products in a creative way as it is to
attract the higher class audience which will have everything good in life these brands
have made this target audience desire these products by flashing of the watch and the
car together. The camera angle of the product helps with this as it has been done by a
overlooking angle on the watch which is facing the car this gives the idea of an
adventure that the audience could be seeking that a lot of people would want to have.
Furthermore the use of a dark color scheme helps with this effect of suggesting an
adventure as the color black symbolizes mystery, this will interest the higher class into
the product as they will be wanting to find out what sort of adventure awaits them.
These products all have something similar with them all as the color schemes all
contrast with each other. As the audience we can see this in the products when we
Can see the brand of the cars name for example with the Bentley one the brand name
is silver and the watch that is being advertised with the car is the same color as this
brand. The producer has done this to create the effect upon the audience that it’s a
set if you get one you must get the other one as well as they are compatible with each
other, this will attract the audience into purchasing both products as they will be
wanting to flash of the luxury items to others which will then make others desire this
product.
Lastly, in all of these big branded cars/ watches as the audience we can clearly see the
brand’s name jump out at us this is to make the product more well know as the
producer is getting the name out there and it will be easier for the audience to
recognize the product more clearly.

In the Bentley advert the producer has made the product appeal to their target
audience by adding in images sound effects and more, this makes the car stand out
instead of others as it shows features and adventures that the higher class can enjoy in
this car. At the start of the clip as the audience we can see the mountains and an open
road, this conveys the point that the car is fast and can go hundreds of miles without
needing fuel, this allows the audience to go on more exciting adventures. This will
effect the audience’s opinion on this car as this is what the higher class will be wanting
a flashy car that can go quick.
The audience is told this through the use of the sound effects of the engine roaring,
it’s clear that this car is designed for men to drive as in the video we can see a man
driving and also stereotypically men prefer cars with a big exhaust and a loud engine.
This is done as it will attract the correct audience and the right type as we can tell just
by listening to this video that it is for the higher class to be driving rather than
someone in the middle class. This helps the audience to understand this and if the
correct audience is attracted to this product they will enjoy the car more.
In the Aston martin advert the producer has started the video in the mountains and
we can see a windy road going to the bottom, as an audience this make us think of
freedom whilst being behind a wheel of a big car, we can tell that this will be a sporty
car just by the sound effect of the engine. This will excite the men in the higher class
As, stereotypically me drive this sporty cars with big engines they will be thrilled to
drive this one this road as there are no cars about and it’s just them. The producer has
made the camera angle a long shot form a birds eye view to create the illusion of a
never ending road this will make the audience think about an adventure and it will
automatically make them start thinking of places where they can take this car and
drive it.
Secondly with the images of the interior of the car such as the paddles instead of a
gear stick makes the audience become excited to drive this car as most cars have a
gear stick or are automatically, this will make the audience think of an F1 car or some
sort of racing vehicle. This is what the higher class will enjoy a lot more as they look
for items that will make their lives easy and more enjoyable. Going back to the interior
however this is what the higher class audience will also be looking at as they will be
wanting to show off to others and show their wealth. The producer has usefully done
this to make it look as expensive as possible as the producer has made sure to show of
the racing seats this overall makes the car look faster, this gives the audience more of
a thrill and pleasure when driving this car.
Lastly, in this product to reassure the audience when they are debating whether to
buy it or not the producer helps out at the end of the video with the quote ‘beautiful
is absolute’. This quote helps persuade the higher class audience into buying the
product as it’s saying it’s the best looking car out there, the producer has essentially
used this this as a selling point for their product because of it saying it’s the best out
there. The effect of this is making the target audience want to buy it as they have all
the best things in life, and therefore will be wanting to get the best car out there.
In the Porsche advert it’s very similar to the Aston martin car advert as they both
demonstrate the power of the car, and the interior however this product for Porsche
will interest the higher class even more than the Aston martin. Porsche has
successfully made their product more for the higher class this is demonstrated when
the we see the actor sat down in the chair looking at Porsche cars in a magazine, this
conveys the idea of relaxation as this is suggesting that owning one of these cars
makes your life easier. The producer has added this into his product to aim it at his
target audience as he knows the higher class like to live an easy life or at least things
to help make it easy and enjoyable for them. Furthermore we as an audience can see
that this car makes it easier for people in life as, in the advert the actor nocks over a
cup over water and doesn’t stress about it this will draw the audience into the product
as it makes the car look a lot better than just displaying it for the audience to view.
The audience was already shocked when the actor didn’t clean the mess, however the
producer of the product did this very creatively as he shows the audience features of
what the car can do as it does it with ease. Tis will grab the audiences attention to this
product.
Lastly the producer of the product has utilized camera angles and duration of clips to
make the product eye catching for the audience. We see camera angles mainly being
used for long shots and bird eye view shots as well, the effect of this upon the
audience is that it shows what sort of car they are buying and also shows what they
could look like when driving it. Furthermore the camera angle the producer has also
used is a close up such as when viewing the tires, exhaust and little designers on the
car where we see these the close ups on the car the producer has creatively changed
the speed of clip by making it slower. The effect of this is that it allows the producer to
grab the audience's attention to a specific section of the car such as when looking at
the wheels people like to see the wheel Barings and small little bits of detail on the car
as the high class audience will want the best of the best. However the producers
doesn’t slow down every clip of the car otherwise the audience will soon lose interest
in the product, so I order to keep the audience wanting more whilst leaving a bit of
mystery about the car the producer shows little images of the car very quickly. The
effect of this is to keep the audience engaged in the product and also, to get them to
See the car in real life.
The last product Ferrari, has used a lot of images and numerous camera angles to grab
the audience’s attention to the product. The producer has started the video off in an
advanced garage, the audience will love this as it is something new that they haven’t
seen before and will make them already wan to to see what this car will be like. The
effect of starting it in this location is to suggest isolation which would mean no one
else will have this car and that will make it priceless to the higher class.
Secondly the producer has utilized imagery such as older racing Ferrari cars in this
product this conveys the idea to the audience that this is the next generation in cars
this portrays to the audience a bigger and faster car that no one else has yet. This will
appeal to the target audience as people like to have a thrill when driving a car and that
is what has been shown to us as an audience in the product. Furthermore we can see
that the producer has wanted us to see this that it is a new generation of cars, he has
done this through the use of camera angles such as the close up, s this draws our
attention to the images of the older cars.
Thirdly, the key to this product working and keeping the theme of racing cars is used
through the location in the last scene as they take the car to a race track, this is the
part where the producer will be trying to sell the car to the audience now. This is
because before was showing the aspects of the car and what the car had in it,
Whereas when they take it to the race track they are showing the audience the
potential of the car. They will be wanting something powerful and something they can
show off to other people with. Furthermore to show the speed of what the car is like
on the race track the producer has got a close up of the car going past at quick speeds.
The producer than also exaggerates the power of the car by taking a fast moving clip
of the track to emphasize the speed of the car, as this is illustrating that the car is too
quick for the camera. This has successfully drawn the audience into the product as
they will be wanting something to show off with.
Lastly, the producer has made the car easy for the audience to remember it by as the
producer is showing the brand’s logo in all the clips, this is making the brands name
more remember able for others. This is what the higher class audience will like as it
will let others know that they have money and more power than other people.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched
products have?
• All the camera angles are the same, when the producers are wanting you to see
something they utilize a close up shot
• The layout of the watch adverts are the same where they give you little bits of
images at a time this keeps the audience on their toes
• All of the products are linked to one another for example some watches are linked
with cars, planes and more
• The colour scheme of products share the same technique there is always a reason
to why they used that colour, also the colours always match each other
• The products match the target audience for example for the higher class the
producers have made a product that will make their life easier whereas when its’
the middle class the producers always make a product that they need that’s the
difference in audiences
Research Analysis
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work?
• The camera angles, such as when I want the audience to notice something I will
have a close up shot of it
• I will try and link all my products together, for example if I’m doing a watch advert
that’s related to cars I will try and share the same colour scheme
• I will make sure that I have the right audience for my product, such as I'm doing it
for a higher class I need to show that it will make their lives easier
• If I use music in my product I will try and change the speed of my clips to match up
with speed of the music for a better result for example if the song slows sown I will
slow down the clip as well
• Ill make sure that I have something that will grab the audience's attention such as
with the magazine with David Beckham in it as people will recognise him and want
to have what he has, so I will get someone to star in the magazine that will match
my product
Questionnaire Analysis
Audience research
In this graph I can see that majority of the
audience that have taken this survey are between
the ages of 16-25 this will be due to me posting
my survey on social media this will have made my
results less accurate to the correct audience as I
am basing my product in the 26-35 age gap. This
graph however shows that 36-50 age group only
18% completed the graph whereas the rest of the
results came fro the age range of 16-25 age
group. This tells me that not many adults are
using social media this is helpful to me as I know
how I can advertise my product to my target
audience. However as it seems this is the age that
is interested in my product I will make the
product appeal to this age group by adding in a
celebrity that is well know who they will idolize
this will make the audience want the product
even more.
Audience research
For this question I wanted to know what
gender my survey was attracting this was so
I could see who was more interested in my
product. According to this graph majority of
my audience is male as 63% where male
and 27% where female. This shows me that
watch adverts are more appealing/
interesting for males. For me to make it
appealing for this audience I will be making
sure that the products clearly target males I
will do this by adding in manly stuff such as
cars, male celebrities such as footballers
and more.
Audience research
For this question I was wanting to know what
ethnicity's people are from to see the biggest
group that are interested in the brand. The
results from this graph portrays that the middle
class are interested in the watch more as they
have 72% of people looking at watches whereas
with higher class they have 18% and lower class
have 9%. This shows that the middle class are
the most interested in the watch. As I am going
to be creating a watch for the higher class I am
going to be trying to make the middle class the
secondary audience as I will be able to sell a lot
more of the product. In order for me to do this I
will be making the rich want the watch and the
middle class desire it. To do this I will get a big
celebrity to wear it this will grab the higher
classes attention to the watch they wear. So I
will be showing the watch to be a once in a
lifetime opportunity to the higher class.
Furthermore for me to interest the middle class
into the product I will be showing them why
they need it, as they will need to save up to be
able to afford it, I will do this by making it seem
as though it makes life easier.
Audience research
For this question I wanted to get to the root of the
product which is what attracts the audience to a
watch advert. I got a few mixed responses with
one anomaly as I got an inappropriate response.
The one that got the most votes was just seeing
the actual watch itself as my audience wasn’t
interested in the sound or camera angles they just
want to see the watch, however I will make the
product appealing for everyone. The rest of the
votes for camera angles was 27%, music 27%, and
actors 9%. This shows that the audience doesn’t
mind about an actor they just want to see the
main product. I will ensure I make the product
appealing and interesting for the audience as I will
try and show the watch with numerous techniques
as I will be showing glimpse of the watch in a
creative way, ill do this by using techniques with
water and more.
Audience research
For this graph I wanted to find out how long
people thought a watch advert should be
majority of the votes went to 10-30 seconds with
64% votes and the rest had 36% was 30-1 minute
long. This tells me that my audience likes to get
into the product straight away as they don’t want
to be waiting for ages they just want to see the
watch. To keep my target audience interested in
the advert I will be making it quick but effective
as. I will try to aim for 40 seconds to try and have
a wider target audience to get both types of
people.
Audience research
When I asked this I was wanting to know what
platform people watch adverts on the most as
this will give me a good idea of what the
product will be displayed on. This graph shows
that majority of votes are on tv with 82% and
the rest of the votes are on phones with 18%.
This tells me that my audience prefer to watch
the adverts on a bigger screen rather than
watching it on a smaller one. For me to attract
a wider audience I will need to make sure that
my product will work on a tv as I need to make
sure that it will fit.
Audience research
For this graph I wanted to find out what the
audience finds appealing on a watch
magazine, the one with the most votes was
images, as my audience would rather see
images related to the product than anything
else. I had majority of the votes for images
73% and the others are evenly spread with
the others. This tells me that my audience
prefer to see images over text on a
magazine. To make my product appeal to my
audience I will be showing the watch off as
much as I can with limited text, but to keep it
creative and eye catching I will be using a
creative color scheme wit different effects.
Audience research
For this graph I wanted to find out
what sort of watches do people look
for and majority of the votes went to
luxury with 45% and branded with 36%
and cheap watches had 18% of votes.
This shows me that my audience like to
have a luxury watch and the others
prefer branded watches. What I will do
to have a wider target audience I will
make sure I choose a watch that is well
known such as loneness watch and I
will make sure that it is luxury as well
as this way I will make majority of my
audience happen with the product.
Audience research
On this graph I wanted to know what
interested people on a watch poster as
expected majority of votes was with
images which had 82% of votes. This tells
me that the watch is the most important
thing to have on a poster as majority of my
audience want to see that. As my audience
prefer images I think I will create a poster
with on the watch and a title as this will
keep the product bold and eye catching to
the audience as it will look more
professional as I will be trying to create a
product all of my audience will have seen a
poster like Rolex have done.
Audience research
For all my products I want to keep them all
looking the same as in color scheme so the
audience will know it’s the same watch being
advertised and that it is everywhere. So for
this question I wanted to know what color
scheme my audience prefer to see on a
magazine and poster and majority of votes
went to complementary color scheme with
55% of votes. This shows that my audience like
to see two colors that are the opposite for
example black and white this shows that my
audience want a bold products as they want
the products to stay simple and look creative. I
will make my product appealing to my
audience by doing this by using colors of black
and white and different shades of colors to try
and make the main product stand out.
Interviews
Interview 1
What's your favourite watch brand and why?
Rolex, because it’s a popular brand and everyone is wearing it such as celebrities and
more famous people
How much would u pay for a watch and why?
£1000 because watches last forever and they can have meaning some of them
What attracts you to a watch magazine and why?
The colour scheme, as it makes the product more approachable and interacting for the
audience as it makes it look more professional and a trust worthy brand
What's your preference on how long an advert sold be?
30 seconds because otherwise it will be too long and will get boring and the audience
will loose interest
Do you prefer a poster to be over crowded or minimal?
Minimal, because too much looks unprofessional and you won’t be able to read the
poster and won’t be able to see the main product
Interview 1
• Observation:
This shows that my audience like to have an expensive branded watch being
advertised with minimal images and a bold colour scheme to keep it professional. As
my audience has said they prefer to see the main product in the magazines rather
than having anything else in it. They have also made this clear as when it comes to the
advert they only want it to be short otherwise the audience will get bored of the
product.
• What this says about my audience:
• This tells me that my audience prefer to have big branded name watches being
advertised rather than a £50 watch.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:

  • 3. In this existing product for Rolex they have made the watch more aimed at adventure in this instance it’s for sailors and they have made this clear through the imagery of the waves, boats and ropes in the images. This is to attract the more adventurous customers to this product, and we can tell that this product is for the higher class as it’s an expensive watch and this draws the audience into the product as it makes it more of an exclusive luxury item to have, this then encourages the more fortune audience to buy this watch. Furthermore the watch is leading exciting adventures that you can have through the use of the camera angle as in the images of the watch the watch is always at an angle facing north this is portraying an image for the audience that the adventure that they could have is forward and that it will interest the audience. The producer of these images have made sure to show the words ‘yatch master’ this will drive the higher class into purchasing this product as they will know that other people will not be able to afford this, we can also tell that they are pushing the higher class into buying it as they are very expensive and not many people will be bale to buy but they have also used ‘as all professional sailors know’, this will make the target audience desire this watch by these words as they want everyone to know that they have the best in live. This watch brand have been very smart as they have demonstrated that they are trying to sell the big brand name not so much the watch as they want to make this stand out more than everything so when the audience buy this watch it makes others desire this watch as they know themselves that it’s very exclusive.
  • 4. The producer of this watch has made it stand out by adding shadows and gradients to this watch as they have made sure that you can see the name, they have added the darker colors on the opposite side to the name and as it’s coming across to the other side it gets lighter and lighter. They haven’t only just done this to make the name stand out and not thinking about where there putting the gradients and shadows, as where the logo is where it’s the brightest they have made it so the name of the brand is overlooking the sea where all the boats are this is to illustrate to the audience that this is for high class people and to show that there are a lot of adventure that you can have.
  • 6. For this watch Rolex GMT- master 2, the producer of these products has made sure to portray to the target audience that it’s an expensive watch and very exclusive, it also tells the audience that with this watch its very smart and for adventure as these images link to adventure in a luxury lifestyle. The audience can see this thro the images in the videos as its shows a pilot wearing one, and in one of the images it shows the watch on a world map. This effects there target audience into wanting one of these watches as it makes the product seem priceless as it’s above the world and that nothing is better than this watch, this is great for it’s consumers as this will persuade them into buying the product as they will want there social status to be as high as possible as it will be giving them power as they know they have something that everyone wants. Once again this brand ‘Rolex’ has been smart when when portraying the watch on top of the world as the first thing you notice is the brands name this makes Rolex seem superior to other brands such as ‘Hugo boss’. The producer has made sure to make the name of the brand very clear in every image and to make sure that there is something flashy in the scene as well as they have a pilot wearing one, an expensive car as well this makes everyone desire this watch. Furthermore in the advert for this watch we can tell the higher class will be wanting this watch just by the sound effects in the video as all we see is the speed meter and the watch and we as the audience can just hear the roar of the engine this will excite the audience as this sound of the engine conveys the idea of it being a very expensive
  • 7. Car that everyone will be wanting. Secondly we can tell that these watches are for the higher class just by the props that they have in these scenes such as the suits, as traditionally black suits are what a lot of rich people with high status would wear as they want everybody to see them, this why Rolex have used this type of clothing to show that this is for the wealthy. Lastly in these products they have used different color schemes for each product as when they are relating it to air such as the pilot or the world map they have utilized a bright color scheme such as blue and white whereas with the products which are related to cars the producer has used a dark color scheme such as black, white. The effect of this is to make the color of the watch stand out and contrast with the colors around it, as this is to make the brand name be more eye catching for the audience.
  • 9. In this product which is related to ’Bentley’ the producer has utilized this car to portray to the audience the expense of the watch and this will draw all the high class into this product, and make the lower classes desire the watch and the people wearing it. The producer has also created this effect upon the higher class as the first thing that catches your eye when looking at this product is David Beckham as even the higher class will idolize him, and want to have what he has. As everyone will know is that David Beckham will have a lot more money than everyone else which means he will have a lot of power over people this I what drives the higher class to follow in the footsteps of him and will copy what he wears to have the same effect on people. The photograph for this product is based on David Beckham, but to make the higher class believe that he has money the producer has also added a Bentley into the scene which is a very expensive car compared to others, this will make the higher class idealize him and want to have what he has. As the audience we can also tell that he has power through the use of the background of the airstrip field behind him as Beckham and the car will be stopping cars from landing on this airstrip shows that he has power over people. Furthermore this is clearly portrayed by the quote of ‘the essence of Britain’, this makes it seem as though he is showing people what someone in Britain should own and the power we have, this will be making everyone in Britain
  • 10. Who is in the higher class want to own all of these products to prove that they have money and to be a stereotypical high class British citizen. Secondly, with the pose of David Beckham showing off his car and watch shows that these luxury items are good enough for him this will make others want to feel the same way about these products and be happy to stand there and show off. As the audience we can tell that he is showing of his items through the title of the watch and car this is making these products more appealing and eye catching for the audience as it makes it more desirable.
  • 12. In this product the audience can tell that these products are for the higher class as they will be unavailable to buy one of these items as they are too much that is why there target audience is for the higher class. This will interest the higher class audience as cars and watches have similarities for example this car the Bentley goes with the watch breitling as this makes a match this will excite the audience as it will make them look like they have more power and will make the overall look better. The producer of these image has made these products in a creative way as it is to attract the higher class audience which will have everything good in life these brands have made this target audience desire these products by flashing of the watch and the car together. The camera angle of the product helps with this as it has been done by a overlooking angle on the watch which is facing the car this gives the idea of an adventure that the audience could be seeking that a lot of people would want to have. Furthermore the use of a dark color scheme helps with this effect of suggesting an adventure as the color black symbolizes mystery, this will interest the higher class into the product as they will be wanting to find out what sort of adventure awaits them. These products all have something similar with them all as the color schemes all contrast with each other. As the audience we can see this in the products when we
  • 13. Can see the brand of the cars name for example with the Bentley one the brand name is silver and the watch that is being advertised with the car is the same color as this brand. The producer has done this to create the effect upon the audience that it’s a set if you get one you must get the other one as well as they are compatible with each other, this will attract the audience into purchasing both products as they will be wanting to flash of the luxury items to others which will then make others desire this product. Lastly, in all of these big branded cars/ watches as the audience we can clearly see the brand’s name jump out at us this is to make the product more well know as the producer is getting the name out there and it will be easier for the audience to recognize the product more clearly.
  • 15. In the Bentley advert the producer has made the product appeal to their target audience by adding in images sound effects and more, this makes the car stand out instead of others as it shows features and adventures that the higher class can enjoy in this car. At the start of the clip as the audience we can see the mountains and an open road, this conveys the point that the car is fast and can go hundreds of miles without needing fuel, this allows the audience to go on more exciting adventures. This will effect the audience’s opinion on this car as this is what the higher class will be wanting a flashy car that can go quick. The audience is told this through the use of the sound effects of the engine roaring, it’s clear that this car is designed for men to drive as in the video we can see a man driving and also stereotypically men prefer cars with a big exhaust and a loud engine. This is done as it will attract the correct audience and the right type as we can tell just by listening to this video that it is for the higher class to be driving rather than someone in the middle class. This helps the audience to understand this and if the correct audience is attracted to this product they will enjoy the car more. In the Aston martin advert the producer has started the video in the mountains and we can see a windy road going to the bottom, as an audience this make us think of freedom whilst being behind a wheel of a big car, we can tell that this will be a sporty car just by the sound effect of the engine. This will excite the men in the higher class
  • 16. As, stereotypically me drive this sporty cars with big engines they will be thrilled to drive this one this road as there are no cars about and it’s just them. The producer has made the camera angle a long shot form a birds eye view to create the illusion of a never ending road this will make the audience think about an adventure and it will automatically make them start thinking of places where they can take this car and drive it. Secondly with the images of the interior of the car such as the paddles instead of a gear stick makes the audience become excited to drive this car as most cars have a gear stick or are automatically, this will make the audience think of an F1 car or some sort of racing vehicle. This is what the higher class will enjoy a lot more as they look for items that will make their lives easy and more enjoyable. Going back to the interior however this is what the higher class audience will also be looking at as they will be wanting to show off to others and show their wealth. The producer has usefully done this to make it look as expensive as possible as the producer has made sure to show of the racing seats this overall makes the car look faster, this gives the audience more of a thrill and pleasure when driving this car.
  • 17. Lastly, in this product to reassure the audience when they are debating whether to buy it or not the producer helps out at the end of the video with the quote ‘beautiful is absolute’. This quote helps persuade the higher class audience into buying the product as it’s saying it’s the best looking car out there, the producer has essentially used this this as a selling point for their product because of it saying it’s the best out there. The effect of this is making the target audience want to buy it as they have all the best things in life, and therefore will be wanting to get the best car out there. In the Porsche advert it’s very similar to the Aston martin car advert as they both demonstrate the power of the car, and the interior however this product for Porsche will interest the higher class even more than the Aston martin. Porsche has successfully made their product more for the higher class this is demonstrated when the we see the actor sat down in the chair looking at Porsche cars in a magazine, this conveys the idea of relaxation as this is suggesting that owning one of these cars makes your life easier. The producer has added this into his product to aim it at his target audience as he knows the higher class like to live an easy life or at least things to help make it easy and enjoyable for them. Furthermore we as an audience can see that this car makes it easier for people in life as, in the advert the actor nocks over a cup over water and doesn’t stress about it this will draw the audience into the product as it makes the car look a lot better than just displaying it for the audience to view.
  • 18. The audience was already shocked when the actor didn’t clean the mess, however the producer of the product did this very creatively as he shows the audience features of what the car can do as it does it with ease. Tis will grab the audiences attention to this product. Lastly the producer of the product has utilized camera angles and duration of clips to make the product eye catching for the audience. We see camera angles mainly being used for long shots and bird eye view shots as well, the effect of this upon the audience is that it shows what sort of car they are buying and also shows what they could look like when driving it. Furthermore the camera angle the producer has also used is a close up such as when viewing the tires, exhaust and little designers on the car where we see these the close ups on the car the producer has creatively changed the speed of clip by making it slower. The effect of this is that it allows the producer to grab the audience's attention to a specific section of the car such as when looking at the wheels people like to see the wheel Barings and small little bits of detail on the car as the high class audience will want the best of the best. However the producers doesn’t slow down every clip of the car otherwise the audience will soon lose interest in the product, so I order to keep the audience wanting more whilst leaving a bit of mystery about the car the producer shows little images of the car very quickly. The effect of this is to keep the audience engaged in the product and also, to get them to
  • 19. See the car in real life. The last product Ferrari, has used a lot of images and numerous camera angles to grab the audience’s attention to the product. The producer has started the video off in an advanced garage, the audience will love this as it is something new that they haven’t seen before and will make them already wan to to see what this car will be like. The effect of starting it in this location is to suggest isolation which would mean no one else will have this car and that will make it priceless to the higher class. Secondly the producer has utilized imagery such as older racing Ferrari cars in this product this conveys the idea to the audience that this is the next generation in cars this portrays to the audience a bigger and faster car that no one else has yet. This will appeal to the target audience as people like to have a thrill when driving a car and that is what has been shown to us as an audience in the product. Furthermore we can see that the producer has wanted us to see this that it is a new generation of cars, he has done this through the use of camera angles such as the close up, s this draws our attention to the images of the older cars. Thirdly, the key to this product working and keeping the theme of racing cars is used through the location in the last scene as they take the car to a race track, this is the part where the producer will be trying to sell the car to the audience now. This is because before was showing the aspects of the car and what the car had in it,
  • 20. Whereas when they take it to the race track they are showing the audience the potential of the car. They will be wanting something powerful and something they can show off to other people with. Furthermore to show the speed of what the car is like on the race track the producer has got a close up of the car going past at quick speeds. The producer than also exaggerates the power of the car by taking a fast moving clip of the track to emphasize the speed of the car, as this is illustrating that the car is too quick for the camera. This has successfully drawn the audience into the product as they will be wanting something to show off with. Lastly, the producer has made the car easy for the audience to remember it by as the producer is showing the brand’s logo in all the clips, this is making the brands name more remember able for others. This is what the higher class audience will like as it will let others know that they have money and more power than other people.
  • 21. Research Analysis • What common features do the researched products have? • All the camera angles are the same, when the producers are wanting you to see something they utilize a close up shot • The layout of the watch adverts are the same where they give you little bits of images at a time this keeps the audience on their toes • All of the products are linked to one another for example some watches are linked with cars, planes and more • The colour scheme of products share the same technique there is always a reason to why they used that colour, also the colours always match each other • The products match the target audience for example for the higher class the producers have made a product that will make their life easier whereas when its’ the middle class the producers always make a product that they need that’s the difference in audiences
  • 22. Research Analysis • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? • The camera angles, such as when I want the audience to notice something I will have a close up shot of it • I will try and link all my products together, for example if I’m doing a watch advert that’s related to cars I will try and share the same colour scheme • I will make sure that I have the right audience for my product, such as I'm doing it for a higher class I need to show that it will make their lives easier • If I use music in my product I will try and change the speed of my clips to match up with speed of the music for a better result for example if the song slows sown I will slow down the clip as well • Ill make sure that I have something that will grab the audience's attention such as with the magazine with David Beckham in it as people will recognise him and want to have what he has, so I will get someone to star in the magazine that will match my product
  • 24. Audience research In this graph I can see that majority of the audience that have taken this survey are between the ages of 16-25 this will be due to me posting my survey on social media this will have made my results less accurate to the correct audience as I am basing my product in the 26-35 age gap. This graph however shows that 36-50 age group only 18% completed the graph whereas the rest of the results came fro the age range of 16-25 age group. This tells me that not many adults are using social media this is helpful to me as I know how I can advertise my product to my target audience. However as it seems this is the age that is interested in my product I will make the product appeal to this age group by adding in a celebrity that is well know who they will idolize this will make the audience want the product even more.
  • 25. Audience research For this question I wanted to know what gender my survey was attracting this was so I could see who was more interested in my product. According to this graph majority of my audience is male as 63% where male and 27% where female. This shows me that watch adverts are more appealing/ interesting for males. For me to make it appealing for this audience I will be making sure that the products clearly target males I will do this by adding in manly stuff such as cars, male celebrities such as footballers and more.
  • 26. Audience research For this question I was wanting to know what ethnicity's people are from to see the biggest group that are interested in the brand. The results from this graph portrays that the middle class are interested in the watch more as they have 72% of people looking at watches whereas with higher class they have 18% and lower class have 9%. This shows that the middle class are the most interested in the watch. As I am going to be creating a watch for the higher class I am going to be trying to make the middle class the secondary audience as I will be able to sell a lot more of the product. In order for me to do this I will be making the rich want the watch and the middle class desire it. To do this I will get a big celebrity to wear it this will grab the higher classes attention to the watch they wear. So I will be showing the watch to be a once in a lifetime opportunity to the higher class. Furthermore for me to interest the middle class into the product I will be showing them why they need it, as they will need to save up to be able to afford it, I will do this by making it seem as though it makes life easier.
  • 27. Audience research For this question I wanted to get to the root of the product which is what attracts the audience to a watch advert. I got a few mixed responses with one anomaly as I got an inappropriate response. The one that got the most votes was just seeing the actual watch itself as my audience wasn’t interested in the sound or camera angles they just want to see the watch, however I will make the product appealing for everyone. The rest of the votes for camera angles was 27%, music 27%, and actors 9%. This shows that the audience doesn’t mind about an actor they just want to see the main product. I will ensure I make the product appealing and interesting for the audience as I will try and show the watch with numerous techniques as I will be showing glimpse of the watch in a creative way, ill do this by using techniques with water and more.
  • 28. Audience research For this graph I wanted to find out how long people thought a watch advert should be majority of the votes went to 10-30 seconds with 64% votes and the rest had 36% was 30-1 minute long. This tells me that my audience likes to get into the product straight away as they don’t want to be waiting for ages they just want to see the watch. To keep my target audience interested in the advert I will be making it quick but effective as. I will try to aim for 40 seconds to try and have a wider target audience to get both types of people.
  • 29. Audience research When I asked this I was wanting to know what platform people watch adverts on the most as this will give me a good idea of what the product will be displayed on. This graph shows that majority of votes are on tv with 82% and the rest of the votes are on phones with 18%. This tells me that my audience prefer to watch the adverts on a bigger screen rather than watching it on a smaller one. For me to attract a wider audience I will need to make sure that my product will work on a tv as I need to make sure that it will fit.
  • 30. Audience research For this graph I wanted to find out what the audience finds appealing on a watch magazine, the one with the most votes was images, as my audience would rather see images related to the product than anything else. I had majority of the votes for images 73% and the others are evenly spread with the others. This tells me that my audience prefer to see images over text on a magazine. To make my product appeal to my audience I will be showing the watch off as much as I can with limited text, but to keep it creative and eye catching I will be using a creative color scheme wit different effects.
  • 31. Audience research For this graph I wanted to find out what sort of watches do people look for and majority of the votes went to luxury with 45% and branded with 36% and cheap watches had 18% of votes. This shows me that my audience like to have a luxury watch and the others prefer branded watches. What I will do to have a wider target audience I will make sure I choose a watch that is well known such as loneness watch and I will make sure that it is luxury as well as this way I will make majority of my audience happen with the product.
  • 32. Audience research On this graph I wanted to know what interested people on a watch poster as expected majority of votes was with images which had 82% of votes. This tells me that the watch is the most important thing to have on a poster as majority of my audience want to see that. As my audience prefer images I think I will create a poster with on the watch and a title as this will keep the product bold and eye catching to the audience as it will look more professional as I will be trying to create a product all of my audience will have seen a poster like Rolex have done.
  • 33. Audience research For all my products I want to keep them all looking the same as in color scheme so the audience will know it’s the same watch being advertised and that it is everywhere. So for this question I wanted to know what color scheme my audience prefer to see on a magazine and poster and majority of votes went to complementary color scheme with 55% of votes. This shows that my audience like to see two colors that are the opposite for example black and white this shows that my audience want a bold products as they want the products to stay simple and look creative. I will make my product appealing to my audience by doing this by using colors of black and white and different shades of colors to try and make the main product stand out.
  • 35. Interview 1 What's your favourite watch brand and why? Rolex, because it’s a popular brand and everyone is wearing it such as celebrities and more famous people How much would u pay for a watch and why? £1000 because watches last forever and they can have meaning some of them What attracts you to a watch magazine and why? The colour scheme, as it makes the product more approachable and interacting for the audience as it makes it look more professional and a trust worthy brand What's your preference on how long an advert sold be? 30 seconds because otherwise it will be too long and will get boring and the audience will loose interest Do you prefer a poster to be over crowded or minimal? Minimal, because too much looks unprofessional and you won’t be able to read the poster and won’t be able to see the main product
  • 36. Interview 1 • Observation: This shows that my audience like to have an expensive branded watch being advertised with minimal images and a bold colour scheme to keep it professional. As my audience has said they prefer to see the main product in the magazines rather than having anything else in it. They have also made this clear as when it comes to the advert they only want it to be short otherwise the audience will get bored of the product. • What this says about my audience: • This tells me that my audience prefer to have big branded name watches being advertised rather than a £50 watch. • How will your product appeal to this audience:
