2. Mind Map
Game idea - An idea of an original game
that will be unique in the modern market
for gamers. It will branch out into t-shirts
and other assets. Graphic novels of the
game would be a diverse take to the
game series.
Band musician idea – I would create a
band that has its own identity and own
place in the market for albums and radio
airings, deals on Spotify and other music
networks. So their music can be
mainstreamed across the world.
Movie – This idea would be of me creating a movie
idea and designing a poster, magazine covers of the
actors and the production. Movies also have DVD or
Blu-ray cases so I would probably just trim the
poster into a smaller size and work on the back for a
description of the movie.
3. Mind Map
I will invest my time and efforts on creating this
game but mainly the products of the game. This I
think is best as I have created a band before and I
feel like making a game idea is better as its fresh
and different compared to most people ideas.
Most of the assets will contain posters, magazine
covers for games, t-shirt designs, graphic novels
and adverts. These assets are crucial to selling this
game idea and making it as realistic as possible,
compared to other video game launches.
The poster will help me generalise the entirety of
the game. So I would possibly have a British
empire flag burning with the main protagonist on
the front. Possibly with the world map in the
background, and the colonies highlighted in an
imperial red claiming the territory.
In the magazine I would explore the journalist side of
things. And promote a proper interview with
questions about the market and the game. Other
things like the T-shirt designs will be about the game
but will have a unique rustic, industrial look to it.
5. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
- The main repetition is of British military power and imperial moods, the colours are
primarily of the union jack U.K flag.
- The main style is of British culture and way of life, and it is a game. And a game that
hasn’t been thought of or done before so there is a lacking in images of modern day
imperial culture.
- The tone is gritty and in the dirt type of theme, so it shows that war never changes.
Innocents die by the thousands due to being in the cross fire. This game is meant to
question humanity and if we will ever learn.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
I will reflect back to the mood board when I’m confused or need more inspiration when making
the products in the games names. I will make sure that my products will be inspired by the few
pictures and images so I don’t confuse myself. It can help me keep focused and dedicated to
creating this visual and sound effect for my target audience.
6. Informal Proposal
Current Idea
Concept I have planned that I will make a game, based in the modern era. But in this alternate
universe the British empire still exists and is still a power to be reckoned with. But
their old ally U.S.A has betrayed them and plans to rule the world, as the second
greatest power the British empire is the only thing standing in Americas global
conquest.
Type of
products you
would make
I will make T-shirts, magazine article, poster, adver game and character design.
These will be enough to show my personal production and hopefully what I am
capable of doing. The T-shirt would have the games symbol as the logo and would
be easy to recognize and define the game.
What you will
need to make
them
I would need various programmes to design such as Photoshop and game creator. In
order to make the advergame and poster, their might be a website for custom T-shirt
designs. Things like the article I can just use Microsoft word.
Audience My primary audience will be gamers, but that depends on the player as my game would have
optional sex option as a lot of female players complain about games not having the option to be
female character, so this would attract the other half of the gaming community who like war and
alternative war games. My age range would be around +14 as most of the gaming community are
teenagers.
7. Choices
Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing this
project
Radio show
• Radio wouldn’t be appropriate for a
game. As the thing most people look for
is visual effects.
• People just wouldn’t get the full
experience of the trailer.
podcasts
• Again I doubt people will want to listen
to the game when they can watch it.
• Plus most people prefer listening to
music than podcasts now.
• Podcasts wouldn’t get the full experience
of what I plan to be a full experience
with visual and sound effects.
