The New York Times, By Jon M. Gibson
Introduction Kyle Cooper is one of the most prominent and influential designers of both the 20th and 21st centuries. As Jon M. Gibson states, his title
sequences have, "...brought attention to an art form that has long been considered an afterthought...". With more than 150 title sequences, five Emmy
nominations, the Title of Honorary Royal Designer and the winner of the AIGA medal in 2014, Cooper has become a huge affect with title designers
in the 21st century. His creation of the title sequence for Se7en (1995) is what brought the limelight to Cooper, after having such a success with both
the public and filmmakers all around the world. The New York Times went so far as to say that this specific title sequence was one of the most
important design innovations of the 1990s. Influenced by the works of Pablo Ferro, Saul Bass, Stephen Frankfurt and Maurice Binder, Cooper's style
and designs changed the way in which title sequences for movies, series and video games are done nowadays, by evoking a revival in the importance
of a meaningful and well–designed title; something that had been gradually lost in the previous decades.
Pre Se7en Era As a child, Cooper was highly influenced by American horror films and horror comic books, which would leave him with an idea of
"...evil as an active, supernatural force in the world."A motif that is clearly seen in his work, as his sequences usually include depictions of evil or
have dark undertones, like in Arlington Road (1999), where Cooper

Does Cognitive Bias Influence The Patterns We Exist?
"Humans are pattern seeking animals and we are adept at finding patterns whether they exist or not" (adapted from Michael Shermer). Discuss
knowledge questions raised by this idea in two areas of knowledge.
My knowledge question is to what extent does cognitive bias influence the patterns we see in life? Cognitive bias is defined as pattern of distortion in
perception and a deviation from rational decision; irrationality Decision–making, belief and behavioral biases. If a person was to look into human
sciences and mathematics as ways of knowing, he or she would determine that cognitive bias is present every time a person sees a pattern. However,
they are unable to see the bias for themselves because of the selectivity of perception. Human sciences will be beneficial in answering this question
because looking at studies and experiments previously done on the subject would give insight into cases in which people use cognitive bias.
Fallacies such as the bandwagon effect and the ambiguity effect could be seen in experiments to help prove or disprove the claim. Mathematics as an
area of knowledge is helpful because it uses logic and reason through values and shapes to present patterns and it is the most common form of
patterns. Also in math we can look at imaginary and irrational numbers as well as geometry to determine if cognitive bias causes pareidolia in logical
patterns.
My claim for human sciences is that human sciences show

The Evolution of Title Sequences
Movie titles first appeared in the beginning of silent films around the early twentieth century, giving producers the opportunity to display legal and
copyright information. Before the fifties these movie titles were just text with information, they were static, separate from the movie, and it was
common for them to be projected onto the cinema curtains before the first scene of the movie. This paper will address the introduction of title

Digital software didn't exist to make shapes and words fly across the screen at the touch of a button. A title sequence sets a tone and atmosphere for a
viewer, characters become introduced to the audience; Bass told stories in his title sequences that included a beginning, middle, and end. The primary
purpose of a title sequence has always been to introduce the name of a film, introduce the actors, and introduce the main people that work on it. Title
sequences may be considered the most important aspect of a film to some. In a perfect world the title sequence sets up an expectation for the audience
and causes excitement, but sometimes they may not be interested in the intro, that can cause them to have a negative attitude towards the rest of the

Medical Animator Essay
This paper provides knowledge about what the effects of animation has in the fields of both biology and medicine. It also gives some information
about what a medical animator is and their purpose in science. As well as some extra information about them, such as the courses or classes they need
to attend through in order to be considered a medical animator. Information about the materials and research necessary in order to create a scientifically
accurate animation, in which they are showing the process of something or of any type of medical or scientific event that an animation is needed for.
What makes an animation scientifically accurate, and the science that goes into an animation. In addition to that, I will also talk about what the perks of
animation in these fields are. Along with how animation can help better the learning and understanding of difficult topics and procedures, whether it be

The animators also are required to look into the physics of items that are a part of the animation to make sure everything that is in motion or is

usually use a specialist in this field to help them out so they can do their job right. Physics is already heavily present in animation no matter what type
of animation, it is necessary in order to make actions in the animation believable or at least plausible enough for the audience that is watching. Physics
is an important subject that makes an exceptional animation without it would make their final product look like it was made horribly and very lifeless.

The Hardest Job That I Have Ever Had Changed My Life
The hardest job that I have ever had in my life that required a lot of my time and effort, is raising my sons'. I was and I still am a single mother of
three boys, Tunji (my oldest), Jaylon and Jaleel (my twins). This has and is a fulltime job, but I am not going to speak about the present, only my
past life of raising my three sons. I have always worked but there was a time that I had to stop working in order to focus on my twins. I knew from
the age of 1 year old, something just wasn't quite right with their behavior and cognitive development was lacking in a lot of areas. For example; not
talking, just babbling and pointing at objects, loud noises caused them to shut down and cover their ears, lining up objects and any little disturbance in
their routine caused them to have a tantrum or screaming fit. It was so hard trying to get answers from doctors, their favorite thing to say to me was
"it's a twin thing – they will grow out of it." This was the beginning of a long – hard road. The three most enjoyable things that I liked about this job is:
Investigating, finding out what was wrong with my sons? Why are they behaving in this manner? I was relentless in finding out and I didn't stop
until I received all the right answers. I finally started getting answers, first I found out that they had a sleeping disorder, so they was put on sleeping
pills, my thought was "YES, I will know get sleep!" The second diagnoses was ADHD, which explained the bouncing off the walls, floors

Show Title Sequence
Before every great television show, there is a great title sequence giving the audience a peek into the show. The main job of the title sequence is to
capture our attention before we actually get the chance to watch the actual show. A title sequence is a visual program that presents the title of the
television show. Title sequences use key production and cast members, using idea–based sound. It usually has the text of the opening credits, like who's
involved in the production and helps establish the setting and tone of the program. For example, in television shows where the theme is horror, there
are usually vivid and sharp illustrations of things that would make the general public somewhat afraid to watch. As if the scenes wasn't enough the...

As the music goes on, the constant loud bang of the drum adds that scary effect that you don't know what's going to happen next. The sound of a train
and furnaces firing up are amongst a few which add a heavier eerie feel to the sequence. The editing can be seen that throughout the sequence a filter
was put on top of the film, as well as this many of the shots have a blur around the edges. This effect could connotate the feelings of the main character
when he first comes out of the coma. A time–lapse shot has also been used from 0:09 to 0:11 to convey the many years that have passed since he has
been in the coma. Many of the cuts are raw and sudden, the shot will go from landscape (wide shot) to a extreme close–up. Once again foreshadowing
the events to come, this could mirror the act of the zombies suddenly appearing. lump cuts are also used In scenes of an abandoned house, giving a
Jarring effect to the pace. The titles appear amongst the scene, sometimes moving. The final title 'The Walking Dead' flickers into shot over a green
background that fades to black at the edges. The use of mise–en–scene in this sequence evokes anticipation in the audience. The post–apocalyptic world
is conveyed through micro elements such as, the bare and dirty decor of the abandoned house and the low–key dingy lighting. The contrast of natural

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Renting Vs. Owning A Home
Personal Finance Unit Five
a.Describe in detail the advantages and disadvantages of renting versus owning a home.
The advantage of renting a dwelling is the lack of time commitment required. If a lease is required, it may be for a one–year term. If the situation is
not agreeable to the tenant, or the tenant needs to relocate out of the area, or prefers a different location, the option to move is available without a
penalty. Some rental units may be available on a monthly basis. While many rental agreements require a security deposit, that deposit would be
significantly less than a down payment and loan closing costs required for the purchase of a residence. While the rental amount may cover the owner's
cost of insurance, maintenance, and taxes, they are not the direct responsibility the tenant. Maintenance and repairs are also the responsibility of the
property owner not the tenant. A tenant has much less responsibility than the property owner.
The disadvantages of renting can be the restrictions set forth by the landlord or property owner. These may include prohibiting modifications of the unit
such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of which is the commitment of a long–term mortgage. If a person anticipates being in an area for a short term or temporarily a long–term
obligation would not make sense. Along with the monthly mortgage payment is the requirement for taxes and insurance to be paid. These can add up
to thousands of dollars annually. Maintenance and repairs also fall to the property owner. The cost of the repair and finding someone qualified and
reputable to do the repair can be quite stressful. Should an owner want to move, the time frame to liquidate the asset may take much longer than one is
anticipating. In that case the home controls them and the access to the cash value is limited. Home ownership is a long–term commitment that requires
an investment of money and

Unit 36 Research Paper
Although there are quite a few ways to arrange the given variables to get 36, the first equation that pops into my mind is: 3N+D=36 When I read
through the list of variables, I settled on the very last one, N=11, and divided 36 by it to get 3r3. I, then, scanned back over the list of values to find
the corresponding variable for 3 to add to 33 and balance the equation. Though I chose to go this route, as stated in my opening, there are many ways
to get 36 with the given values. These values range from 0–11 and some of them, as we know, are factors of 36 (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9). The fact that so
many of the values are factors is a clear indication that there is definitely, as the old adage says, "more than one way to skin the cat". To form an
equation we have the following options. We can (a) choose a complete factor set from the list of values which would form a quick and neat equation
like 6^2=36, 6*6=36, and 9*4=36, or (b) pick one of the other variables whose value is not a part of a complete factor set, in which case the equation
would be more complex, but one could easily manipulate it by adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing a combination of the other variables until the
equation is balanced.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knowing the answer before you understand the question is a pro because in some instances, we, as individuals, need to work out things in our
own way in order to fully grasp a given concept. For example, I often use stories of my personal life experiences to encourage my children when
they are faced with certain obstacles. Now, although the path I took allowed me to overcome that obstacle, it may not be a suitable path for this
particular child so I always make sure to close the story with telling them that even though I shared my story (or my equation), my story is not
necessarily THE way but simply A way to overcome the obstacle. and I'm only sharing to show that it CAN be

Media Text Analysis
Identify some elements of the media text that are operating as signifiers and what their signifieds are.
Firstly, the Fresh Meat opening titles begins with a notice which states that "All University housing is strictly Non– Smoking." The prefix 'non' is
crossed out and replaced with the "weed". This linguistic sign of the word 'weed' can be signified as a slang term for marijuana, an illegal drug.
Next, the iconic signs of a bicycle helmet, bullet holes and wine shown. Following on from this is a television set with an abstract green visual. This
visual could be signified as similar to a computer screensaver. A metallic toy robot is indicated which creates sparks.
Furthermore, the iconic signs of a pin board with photos of people attached to it are presented. The linguistic sign of an actor's name then disappears
through a hole in the wall.

Following on from McHigh's character is Kimberley Nixon's. Above Nixon's name is a photo frame with an array of images depicting the character's
friendships. This could represent a very social personality. The actor's name disappearing through the hole in the wall may suggest an imperfect
character with flaws. A hole in the wall may also enable communication between two rooms that are separated by the wall.
The blue lights above Charlotte Ritchie's name may symbolise a mysterious character as this shade of blue is sometimes seen this way. The mirror
may indicate a character who is self–conscious. It could be perceived by the audience that Josh Thomas' character enjoys listening or playing music.
The toiletries may also suggest that the character values looking after his appearance. The model which may be associated with Jack Whitehall's

Analysis Of Shakespeare In Love
The film Shakespeare in Love is a wonderful movie directed by John Madden. The film seems pretty straightforward at the beginning, but there are
subtle things that make the film more enticing. John Madden added these things to make the film look and feel more real. I will be discussing more
about this film white discussing its impact on myself and the audience.
This film was set during 1590`s and that is a very important fact that must be remembered while reviewing, especially when thinking of Madden's
vision of the film while directing. In the opening sequence, we see the director using subtle hints that help set the tone of the film. The opening credits
are in black and white and because of this, we know that the film is set in an early time period. This, as well as the font, is what we would associate
with old England. Although this was an interesting effect used to create the setting, the opening sequence as a whole, was extremely boring. Even
though it was boring, the music was there to fill the gap and not leave the audience lulled to sleep. The instruments chosen and the frequent melodic
tones helped further shape the setting of old England. It is obvious that Madden loved music because it is almost omni–present throughout the film.
The instruments are mostly string instruments which are often accredited to classical music. The pitch, the tempo, and the loudness of the music play
major roles along with the selection of instruments. If there is an important part of

Comparison Between The Simpsons and Futurama
The word genre can be used to describe several things such as books, films and television programmes. It means the theme of the book, e.t.c. and in the
case of a film or programme means either horror, thriller, comedy, romantic. It is important that a programme or film makes clear whatgenre it is. For
example, a horror should make you cower in fear and a thriller should keep you on the edge of your seat. In the case of a comedy, which I have
chosen to compare, it must make you cry with laughter. What genre a piece of media is, also helps you to choose the things that you like. I have

The Philosopher's Stone vs. The Deathly Hallows: Part 2
Arguably, the most intriguing part of the series is that though the plot is constantly changing, the feeling the audience gets from each film is the same.
Consequently, the series needed some sort of closure that showed the evolution of the series in a visually, cinematic way. This is why the eighthfilm
being a refined reflection of the first film is understandable and may actually have been needed to bring the series full circle.
Nearly each aspect of the eighth film resembles a moment in the first film, but carries a matured and sometimes opposing purpose in comparison. (See
Figure 9A, B) This comparative analysis will be comprehensive rather than scene specific because the parallels deal with Classic cinematography that
doesn't require extensive explanation and can easily be seen in the in–text screenshots of the films. Instead, the analysis will be more about how the
cinematic parallels have evolved in the final film and how the distinction between first and last demonstrates why they are opposites.

Research On Vigilance And Sustained Attention
Introduction:
Studies on vigilance and sustained attention have been a widely studied part of psychology since the Second World War. This is because it was found
that people monitoring radars for enemy ships experienced what is now known as vigilance decrement. That is when the ability of a subject to detect
an abnormality during a task which primarily displays a "normal" screen. In the case of WWII radar monitors, this was to detect when an enemy
submarine entered the radar. (Helton, W. S. & Russell, P. N. (2012). ) After a short time, typically 20
–30 minutes but in certain cases as little as 5
minutes, vigilance decrement can occur. (Caggio, D. M., & Parasuraman, R. (2004)). There are two main theories commonly cited to explain this
phenomenon, mindless theory and resource theory. Resource theory says that the vigilance decrement is due to the exhaustion of brain resources
required to maintain focus on the task. Mindless theory simply explains vigilance depletion as being caused by disengagement from the task due to
boredom. (Helton, W. S. & Russell, P. N. (2012).) The two theories explain the same phenomenon much differently; resource theory says it's caused in
part by cognitive overload, while mindless theory suggests it's caused by cognitive under–load causing boredom. (Helton, W. S., & Russell, P. N.
(2015)). Resource theory is strongly supported by a wide array of evidence from behavioural studies, mental workload studies, and brain imaging
studies. When the

The Discovery Of The Logarithm
The Contributors of Logarithms
The discovery of the logarithm is a great mathematics breakthrough made by John Napier and Joost Burgi. These two mathematicians had different
concepts of the logarithms and its present use today. John Napier's logarithms were published in 1614, while six years later, in 1620, Burgi's
logarithms were published (A REVIEW OF LOGARITHMS 2016). Both Napier and Burgi invented logarithms in order to simplify mathematical
calculations. To reach their goals, they used two different methods; Napier used the algebraic method and Burgi used the geometric method. Although
these two men had discovered logarithms, they did not have the concept of a logarithmic base. The current definition defines a logarithm as "the power

Originally, the exponent notation was not used, but was a further developed method to explain Burgi's concept. In conclusion, Burgi's discovery of
relating geometric and arithmetic series is the reason why he has a great contributor to the development of logarithms.
The other important contributor to the development of logarithms in 1614 was John Napier, a Scottish mathematician. His incentive was to help in the
multiplication of sine quantities. The entire sine was the value of the side calculated of a right angle triangle with a large hypotenuse. In participation
with the English mathematician Henry Briggs, Napier transformed his logarithm into its present day shape. The comparison of logarithms is between
an L point moving consistently minus infinity, and an X point moving from zero towards infinity at a speed proportional to its distance from zero.
Napier's discovery made a general relation between the arithmetic and geometric series; i.e., multiplication and rising to a power of the values of the X
point correspond to addition and multiplication of the values of the L point, respectively (John Napier and logarithms 2016). For instance, in order to
limit the L and X motion, the requirement is that L=1 at X=10, additionally to that condition that X=1 at L=0. The change had contributed to the
logarithm known as the Briggsian at that time (Logarithms: The Early History of a

Character Analysis Of Amc's Breaking Bad
First aired in January 2008, AMC's Breaking Bad, was when audiences were initially introduced to protagonist, Walter White, in the driver's seat of an
old RV wearing nothing but a gasmask and his (AMC regulated) underwear. The middle aged Walter White is a passionate chemist and somewhat
unsuccessful high school chemistry teacher. The poorly remunerated and disrespected educator is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer and pairs
with a former student, Jesse Pinkman, in a life of crime to produce a highly superior form of crystal methamphetamine, with the attempts of providing
for the financial wellbeing of his wife, Skylar and son, Walter White Jr., who was born with cerebral palsy.

The narrative complexity in Breaking Bad owes also to the show's enigmatic and transformative characters. Walt is depicted as an upstanding family
man, working two jobs to provide for his family and enriching young minds as a teacher. However, in the first three episodes Walt's character changes
are dramatic.
The first episode of the show features a scene in which Walt discusses the concepts of chemistry and specifically the notion of chemistry phases of
change to his high school students. This analogy of chemical change can appropriately be adapted to understand Walt's psychological changes.
The audience is presented with a man who is depicted as a victim of modern day society. Analogous to many other individuals, Walt is the breadwinner
in the White family with financial struggles such that his teacher's compensation is not enough to cover his expenses. Furthermore, he is a man having
just been diagnosed with terminal cancer and in his turmoil experiences a moment of weakness and decides to produce drugs, as he is desperate to
provide for his family after his death. This fraught man's motivation turns violent and gruesome just an episode later through a series of two murders by

Stanhope is considered by the men to be 'the best company commander

the fear and pain of War. At the beginning of the play,
Sherriff chooses not to introduce the audience to Stanhope. Instead, the audience builds their own picture of Stanhope through the differing views of
the men in his company. Hardy's strong description of Stanhope, forces the viewer to build a picture of 'a freak show exhibit.' However, this view is

Conclusion
R.C Sherriff employs a very clever writing style in Journey's End, to describe Stanhope to the audience. Before actually meeting Stanhope, the reader
is left to make their own decision about Stanhope's character. The opinions that are given of Stanhope by the other characters are fairly accurate.
Hardy's description appears to be correct at first, when Stanhope enters; his first words being 'Damn the soup, bring some whisky.' He uses the drink
to escape from the problems of war around him. The 'quick–temper' that Osborne described is also shown to the audience in this part of the scene.

gripping and compelling and there are many unsuspected twists and turns along the way.
'The Sixth Sense' and 'The Others' have comparable storylines because they are both based on the idea of a parallel universe in which supernatural and
human beings are closer than anyone realises. Both movies have an ability to keep you guessing throughout and unexpectedly surprising you.

If they do not catch your attention and generate anticipation, it is likely that you will not enjoy the movie.
From the opening credits, with their white–on–black minimalism and the stealthy, suggestive music, it's clear that 'The Sixth Sense' is going to have
you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. The black of the background symbolises darkness and the feeling of unawareness and the
contrasting glowing white writing stands out against it. As the scrolling credits fade into the background followed by shadows; it sets an eerie
atmosphere, which prepares you for the rest of the movie. The haunting music gets more intense as the credits roll on, which builds tension towards the
opening scene, as it starts with complementary near silence to add impact.
The opening credits in 'The Others' also create a similar ghostly setting as in 'The Sixth Sense' although I feel that the credits in 'The Others' are
more chilling and quite shocking. They start relatively harmless, however we are still tense and edgy because we know there is irony behind this and
that the story will not turn out to be so innocent. This is proved as the credits roll on and the images become more disturbing and terrifying. The
gentle voice over is also ironic because it leaves the audience wondering why such a kind voice, talking

Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. In each section 5.2.1–5.2.3 the students are required to make sense as a group and persevere in

student reason and understand, then persevere, the student gains an understanding of the concept in sequences rather that the rule. Given that many of

Pow 16: Spiralaterals
A spiralateral is a series of line segments that form a shape that resembles a spiral. You make spiralaterals by picking a spot on a piece of graph paper
to be the starting point of the spiralateral. Then take a set of three numbers and using that point go up the first number of squares on the graph paper, go
right the second number of squares, down the third number of squares and left the first number of squares going in that pattern until the line meets the
starting point. So if you were using the numbers 1, 2, and 3 you would do what is shown in the diagram below. You go up one square, then you go

Enter The Void (2010) is a film about a young man, Oscar who lives with his sister in Tokyo, Japan. He is shot dead by police whilst taking

Tokyo watching over his now completely alone sister on a hallucinatory journey, intoxicated, neon–lit with daring aesthetics that have to be seen to be

Narrative and Genre Features in the Opening Sequence of Pulp Fiction
A narrative is the story itself and generic features are elements expected to be contained within a certain category of film.
Pulp Fiction is labeled as a gangster film; however gangster films follow very precise generic elements such a death, contraband's, violence, wealth and
strong family loyalties.
Pulp Fiction doe follow the above mentioned elements but the locations of the action are unorthodox. Screen gangster activities tend to take place in

This illustrates they are breaking conventions.
In a traditional narrative we expect to see characters that have prominent roles in the film to be in the opening sequence; also you'd expect the story
contained in the opening sequence to be followed up. This is not the case in Pulp Fiction. We leave the opening scene in a moment of action.
Therefore we are set up with the expectation of what happens next? In a traditional linear narrative this is a question which is likely to be answered.
However in Pulp Fiction the next scene contains different characters and a different plot. We do not return to the opening story till the end of the film.
The next scene contains the opening credits. The music is upbeat and compliments the emotional intensity of the two thieves' situation. The music also
suggests we are still with the two thieves' story.
In the middle of the title track we hear a radio changing dial and a new track plays 'Jungle Boogie.' This suggests unpredictability. This is also a
subversion of traditions in itself as it doesn't happen in any other film.
We enter the next scene mid–way into a conversation. We do not know of they're related to the couple in the restaurant. A

The opening scene introduces us to the person we later learn is John 'Scottie' Ferguson, something that does not play out until much later in the film
relates to the demonstration of the debilitating extent of Johns inability to act in the face of heights, once with the police officer and then with his love
whom he cant stop because of his fear. The opening scene builds on the credits by creating the expectation of suspense and thrill and mystery
shrouding the true identity and relation of characters and setting up the disposableness of characters in the film, this adds to the complexity of
Madeline's disease as the audience cant tell whether, or more when, she will die.
The rooftop chase creates an expectation of dark drama, which moves into the scene with Midge in a light filled room where Scottie appears to be in
control of his fear and the relationship between the two characters is established, whilst not technically part of the opening scene it instantly makes the
viewer question whether their interpretation of the initial segment of the film was correct, already one is questioning their ability to pick the direction
of the film.

Analysis Of The Movie ' Workplace Tension '
Workplace Tension
In his 1916 silent–film Intolerance, D.W. Griffith pioneered editing techniques that helped establish montage as a core component of film language.
Griffith set out to unite four disparate storylines under the common theme of love's eternal battle with intolerance. While Griffith believed this film
achieved its goal, some of his contemporaries argued that Intolerance was a "magnificent failure" (Eisenstein, 241). Indeed, Eisenstein proposed that the
unification Griffith sought to create was impossible because the juxtaposition of these stories did not create new meaning. Instead, Eisenstein wrote
that the lack of conflict between shots prevented the synthesis of a higher meaning, or montage trope. While it is true that Intolerance generally does
not accomplish montage trope, especially when referencing Walt Whitman's Out of the Cradle Endlessly Rocking, where Griffith explicitly attempts it,
there are examples of its implementation. Griffith does manage to achieve this higher meaning in the scene depicting a labor strike. Eisenstein's claim
that Griffith never incorporates montage tropes into his films is false as demonstrated by the social criticism in the juxtaposition of the striking mill
workers and Mr. Jenkins.
Eisenstein describes montage trope as the juxtaposition of images resulting in a greater abstract meaning. By abstract, Eisenstein means that the
significance of the juxtaposition is not confined to the individual images on the screen.

The trigonometric functions are functions of an angle. They relate the angles of a triangle to the lengths of its sides. Trigonometric functions are
important in the study of triangles and modeling periodic phenomena, among many other application. Amplitude is half the distance between the

The video quality evaluation was put forward to the birth of video technology, it is performed to evaluate the quality of a set of video sequences under
study. Video quality can be evaluated by objectivevideo quality and subjective video quality, the objective video quality can be evaluated by some
parameters of objective video quality classified from the original signal and the received signal, but we cannot judge the video is good or not, just
from some objective parameters. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the subjective video quality at some standardized testing methods. That is what

The SSCQE is also a family of single stimulus like ACR and ACR–HR. The methods selected a longer test video sequence which should last at least
five minutes, and the audiences continue to score the observation video sequence. In the end, the staff can get a series of scoring statistics, the score
not only consider the value of the score, but also consider the scoring time.
This test method have a better performance in video quality with time–varying compression system, in other word, it gives an entire assessment for a
longer video sequence.
However, the test video sequence is very long, it results in a problem of the test method that it will not have reference during the test, thus we cannot
remove the impact of scene bias, audiences' feeling and so on, besides we cannot compare the scores from different SSCQE test experiments for the
same reason, so the result of SSCQE is independently. In addition, the selected test video sequence may make a huge effect to the final result.
Therefore, how to select a comfortable test video sequence becomes a serious

0.2 threshold, falling as low as –0.04. This can be explained by the fact that when aligned against each other, the query sequence and template sequence
consist of different types of amino acid residues in this range (Table 1). The query sequence consists of the residues YTAEADGNTIFTKTIPSGITISA,

Moreover, based on ProSA's local plot, the model displays low energy scores (negative delta g) throughout most of the plot in the template

(Uziela et al., 2017). Similarly, as shown in figure 2, for the experimentally determined structure of this template (PDB ID: 4IPU), ProQ3 shows a
ProQ3D score of .537. Since the template model scored slightly higher than the known structure and is closer to 1, the model generated can be deemed
as acceptable. Overall, given the positive results of most of these these evaluation programs, it can be concluded that the template model 4IPU_A is
likely reliable and gives a highly accurate alignment.

Analysis Of William Shakespeare 's Romeo And Juliet
Introduction "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet." This quote from Shakespeare is from the
balcony scene when Juliet tells Romeo that his name is meaningless and that he is still a handsome young man and that only their family names are
enemies. This same quote can be applied in today's society in how people address each other based on different situations, especially when addressing
women. There are many different titles that can be used to address women as opposed to men, but despite the title used, the woman herself does not
change. Only the meaning and stereotype associated with the title used changes.
Throughout the years, the titles used to address women have slowly shifted meaning from that of a social status to that of a marital status.
Erickson (2014) explains that the titles "Miss" and "Mrs." are the oldest coined terms used to address women, and both of them derive from the
title "Mistress." Both titles were generally only used for those of higher power and status. "Miss" described young girls while "Mrs.", described
women who had governed subjects, was skilled, or who taught. Upon reaching adulthood, a "Miss" became a "Mrs.", and according to the Oxford
English Dictionary, it was common for older, unmarried women to still use the title "Mrs." so they could increase their standing to be on par with
married women. This was why sometimes this referred to as a "title of politeness" or "courtesy title." But by the

For a better overview I write everything down again: n = 9 d = $ 25 a1 = $ 100 a9 = ?
I use the following formula to find out a9: an = a1 + (n – 1)d
Now we put the numbers we have into the formula: a9 = 100 + (9–1)(25) a9 = 100 + 8(25) a9 = 100 + 200 a9 = 300 a9= $ 300
Now that we have a9 we can we can calculate the costs for a 90–foot–tower with the following formula:
Sn = n(a1 + a n) / 2
S9 = 9(100 + 300) / 2
S9 = 9(400) / 2
S9 = 4.5(400)
S9= 1,800
S9 = $ 1,800
The cost for a 90–foot–CB–tower will be $ 1,800.
This exercise involves an arithmetic sequence because the cost of the labor for each succeeding 10 feet is $25 more than the preceding 10 feet. The
first 10 feet the cost of the labor is $ 100. The next 10 feet are $ 25 more and the next 10 feet $ 25 more and so on.

Red is a color that evokes emotion and draws the eye, so in its sporadic occurrences, one's eyes are drawn to the text in the ad and more importantly
to the name of the guest star. The second design element is line. Line is used in this scene to break apart the buildings and windows within, and
really focus the geometric shapes. Although the lines are soft and light in weight, aside from the outer most lines of the buildings, which are hard but
still thin, they are uniform in their clear representation of the shape of the buildings and the windows. These lines depict a vertical and horizontal
relationship from the dimensions of the building and windows. From the angle of the scene in discussion, the horizontal lines appear diagonal
converging on each other at the corners of the buildings and windows. These converging lines at the top of the buildings demonstrate a focal point
brought upon by the location of emphasis (Hemmis 2013). The lines of the building are enclosed to the achromatic background to separate them from
the background and divide the pictorial space. The only lines that are curved in this scene appear in the ads and the form of the free–falling man. The
final element is shape. The shapes in this scene are primarily geometric. The windows and the buildings are created by the soft yet defined lines seen
throughout the scene. Linear shapes are made by the convergence

How did I develop my initial visual ideas?
I thought about remaking the opening title sequence of my favourite movie (JILLA). Sir R. T. Neason is an Indian film director who is well known
in the industry for is capability of making fantastic mind blowing effects movies. Jilla was initially released in January, 2014 and it was appreciated by
the audience.
To make my opening title sequence I watched the movie several times. Each time I watched it, I critically look at the way the text, effects, sounds, and
actions were set up.
I started to take note, and create my storyboard. I research the original movie but I wanted my idea to be unique and purely my imagination. It wasn't
very difficult for me as I have completed a movie project before.
How did I create the appropriate movie composition sequence?
To make sure that I have created an appropriate movie composition sequence I have made a check list. I continually tick boxes till I had everything
completed. My check list included frame rate, resolution or safe areas of my title sequence.
RESOLUTION
Width: 1280px; Height: 720px; Frame rate: 24; Duration: 00.30.00 seconds
This is the size for the footage I am going to use:
Name: Jilla Agarwal.Mp4; Length: 1280 x 720 (1.00); File format: H.264; Frame rate: 24.00fps

between the fall of Rome in 476 CE and the beginning of the Renaissance in the 14th century." The Middle Ages, or Medieval Times, are known for
their famous art, architecture, crusades among other things, but there were also mathematical contributions happening during this time period.

  • 3. The New York Times, By Jon M. Gibson Introduction Kyle Cooper is one of the most prominent and influential designers of both the 20th and 21st centuries. As Jon M. Gibson states, his title sequences have, "...brought attention to an art form that has long been considered an afterthought...". With more than 150 title sequences, five Emmy nominations, the Title of Honorary Royal Designer and the winner of the AIGA medal in 2014, Cooper has become a huge affect with title designers in the 21st century. His creation of the title sequence for Se7en (1995) is what brought the limelight to Cooper, after having such a success with both the public and filmmakers all around the world. The New York Times went so far as to say that this specific title sequence was one of the most important design innovations of the 1990s. Influenced by the works of Pablo Ferro, Saul Bass, Stephen Frankfurt and Maurice Binder, Cooper's style and designs changed the way in which title sequences for movies, series and video games are done nowadays, by evoking a revival in the importance of a meaningful and well–designed title; something that had been gradually lost in the previous decades. Pre Se7en Era As a child, Cooper was highly influenced by American horror films and horror comic books, which would leave him with an idea of "...evil as an active, supernatural force in the world."A motif that is clearly seen in his work, as his sequences usually include depictions of evil or have dark undertones, like in Arlington Road (1999), where Cooper ... • 4. Does Cognitive Bias Influence The Patterns We Exist? "Humans are pattern seeking animals and we are adept at finding patterns whether they exist or not" (adapted from Michael Shermer). Discuss knowledge questions raised by this idea in two areas of knowledge. My knowledge question is to what extent does cognitive bias influence the patterns we see in life? Cognitive bias is defined as pattern of distortion in perception and a deviation from rational decision; irrationality Decision–making, belief and behavioral biases. If a person was to look into human sciences and mathematics as ways of knowing, he or she would determine that cognitive bias is present every time a person sees a pattern. However, they are unable to see the bias for themselves because of the selectivity of perception. Human sciences will be beneficial in answering this question because looking at studies and experiments previously done on the subject would give insight into cases in which people use cognitive bias. Fallacies such as the bandwagon effect and the ambiguity effect could be seen in experiments to help prove or disprove the claim. Mathematics as an area of knowledge is helpful because it uses logic and reason through values and shapes to present patterns and it is the most common form of patterns. Also in math we can look at imaginary and irrational numbers as well as geometry to determine if cognitive bias causes pareidolia in logical patterns. My claim for human sciences is that human sciences show ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was and I still am a single mother of three boys, Tunji (my oldest), Jaylon and Jaleel (my twins). This has and is a fulltime job, but I am not going to speak about the present, only my past life of raising my three sons. I have always worked but there was a time that I had to stop working in order to focus on my twins. I knew from the age of 1 year old, something just wasn't quite right with their behavior and cognitive development was lacking in a lot of areas. For example; not talking, just babbling and pointing at objects, loud noises caused them to shut down and cover their ears, lining up objects and any little disturbance in their routine caused them to have a tantrum or screaming fit. It was so hard trying to get answers from doctors, their favorite thing to say to me was "it's a twin thing – they will grow out of it." This was the beginning of a long – hard road. The three most enjoyable things that I liked about this job is: Investigating, finding out what was wrong with my sons? Why are they behaving in this manner? I was relentless in finding out and I didn't stop until I received all the right answers. I finally started getting answers, first I found out that they had a sleeping disorder, so they was put on sleeping pills, my thought was "YES, I will know get sleep!" The main job of the title sequence is to capture our attention before we actually get the chance to watch the actual show. A title sequence is a visual program that presents the title of the television show. Title sequences use key production and cast members, using idea–based sound. It usually has the text of the opening credits, like who's involved in the production and helps establish the setting and tone of the program. For example, in television shows where the theme is horror, there are usually vivid and sharp illustrations of things that would make the general public somewhat afraid to watch. The sound of a train and furnaces firing up are amongst a few which add a heavier eerie feel to the sequence. The editing can be seen that throughout the sequence a filter was put on top of the film, as well as this many of the shots have a blur around the edges. This effect could connotate the feelings of the main character when he first comes out of the coma. A time–lapse shot has also been used from 0:09 to 0:11 to convey the many years that have passed since he has been in the coma. Many of the cuts are raw and sudden, the shot will go from landscape (wide shot) to a extreme close–up. Once again foreshadowing the events to come, this could mirror the act of the zombies suddenly appearing. lump cuts are also used In scenes of an abandoned house, giving a Jarring effect to the pace. The titles appear amongst the scene, sometimes moving. The final title 'The Walking Dead' flickers into shot over a green background that fades to black at the edges. • 9. The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Renting Vs. Owning A Home Personal Finance Unit Five a.Describe in detail the advantages and disadvantages of renting versus owning a home. The advantage of renting a dwelling is the lack of time commitment required. If a lease is required, it may be for a one–year term. If the situation is not agreeable to the tenant, or the tenant needs to relocate out of the area, or prefers a different location, the option to move is available without a penalty. Some rental units may be available on a monthly basis. While many rental agreements require a security deposit, that deposit would be significantly less than a down payment and loan closing costs required for the purchase of a residence. While the rental amount may cover the owner's cost of insurance, maintenance, and taxes, they are not the direct responsibility the tenant. Maintenance and repairs are also the responsibility of the property owner not the tenant. A tenant has much less responsibility than the property owner. The disadvantages of renting can be the restrictions set forth by the landlord or property owner. These may include prohibiting modifications of the unit such as ... • 10. Unit 36 Research Paper Although there are quite a few ways to arrange the given variables to get 36, the first equation that pops into my mind is: 3N+D=36 When I read through the list of variables, I settled on the very last one, N=11, and divided 36 by it to get 3r3. I, then, scanned back over the list of values to find the corresponding variable for 3 to add to 33 and balance the equation. Though I chose to go this route, as stated in my opening, there are many ways to get 36 with the given values. These values range from 0–11 and some of them, as we know, are factors of 36 (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9). The fact that so many of the values are factors is a clear indication that there is definitely, as the old adage says, "more than one way to skin the cat". To form an equation we have the following options. We can (a) choose a complete factor set from the list of values which would form a quick and neat equation like 6^2=36, 6*6=36, and 9*4=36, or (b) pick one of the other variables whose value is not a part of a complete factor set, in which case the equation would be more complex, but one could easily manipulate it by adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing a combination of the other variables until the equation is balanced.... The film seems pretty straightforward at the beginning, but there are subtle things that make the film more enticing. John Madden added these things to make the film look and feel more real. I will be discussing more about this film white discussing its impact on myself and the audience. This film was set during 1590`s and that is a very important fact that must be remembered while reviewing, especially when thinking of Madden's vision of the film while directing. In the opening sequence, we see the director using subtle hints that help set the tone of the film. The opening credits are in black and white and because of this, we know that the film is set in an early time period. This, as well as the font, is what we would associate with old England. Although this was an interesting effect used to create the setting, the opening sequence as a whole, was extremely boring. Even though it was boring, the music was there to fill the gap and not leave the audience lulled to sleep. The instruments chosen and the frequent melodic tones helped further shape the setting of old England. It is obvious that Madden loved music because it is almost omni–present throughout the film. The instruments are mostly string instruments which are often accredited to classical music. The pitch, the tempo, and the loudness of the music play major roles along with the selection of instruments. If there is an important part of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is why the eighthfilm being a refined reflection of the first film is understandable and may actually have been needed to bring the series full circle. Nearly each aspect of the eighth film resembles a moment in the first film, but carries a matured and sometimes opposing purpose in comparison. • 17. Research On Vigilance And Sustained Attention Introduction: Studies on vigilance and sustained attention have been a widely studied part of psychology since the Second World War. This is because it was found that people monitoring radars for enemy ships experienced what is now known as vigilance decrement. That is when the ability of a subject to detect an abnormality during a task which primarily displays a "normal" screen. In the case of WWII radar monitors, this was to detect when an enemy submarine entered the radar. (Helton, W. S. & Russell, P. N. (2012). ) After a short time, typically 20 –30 minutes but in certain cases as little as 5 minutes, vigilance decrement can occur. (Caggio, D. M., & Parasuraman, R. (2004)). There are two main theories commonly cited to explain this phenomenon, mindless theory and resource theory. Resource theory says that the vigilance decrement is due to the exhaustion of brain resources required to maintain focus on the task. Mindless theory simply explains vigilance depletion as being caused by disengagement from the task due to boredom. (Helton, W. S. & Russell, P. N. (2012).) The two theories explain the same phenomenon much differently; resource theory says it's caused in part by cognitive overload, while mindless theory suggests it's caused by cognitive under–load causing boredom. (Helton, W. S., & Russell, P. N. (2015)). Resource theory is strongly supported by a wide array of evidence from behavioural studies, mental workload studies, and brain imaging studies. When the ... These two mathematicians had different concepts of the logarithms and its present use today. John Napier's logarithms were published in 1614, while six years later, in 1620, Burgi's logarithms were published (A REVIEW OF LOGARITHMS 2016). Both Napier and Burgi invented logarithms in order to simplify mathematical calculations. In conclusion, Burgi's discovery of relating geometric and arithmetic series is the reason why he has a great contributor to the development of logarithms. The other important contributor to the development of logarithms in 1614 was John Napier, a Scottish mathematician. His incentive was to help in the multiplication of sine quantities. The entire sine was the value of the side calculated of a right angle triangle with a large hypotenuse. In participation with the English mathematician Henry Briggs, Napier transformed his logarithm into its present day shape. The comparison of logarithms is between an L point moving consistently minus infinity, and an X point moving from zero towards infinity at a speed proportional to its distance from zero. Napier's discovery made a general relation between the arithmetic and geometric series; i.e., multiplication and rising to a power of the values of the X point correspond to addition and multiplication of the values of the L point, respectively (John Napier and logarithms 2016). For instance, in order to limit the L and X motion, the requirement is that L=1 at X=10, additionally to that condition that X=1 at L=0. In a traditional narrative we expect to see characters that have prominent roles in the film to be in the opening sequence; also you'd expect the story contained in the opening sequence to be followed up. The music also suggests we are still with the two thieves' story. In the middle of the title track we hear a radio changing dial and a new track plays 'Jungle Boogie.' This suggests unpredictability. This is also a subversion of traditions in itself as it doesn't happen in any other film.

  • 38. Analysis Of The Movie ' Workplace Tension ' Workplace Tension In his 1916 silent–film Intolerance, D.W. Griffith pioneered editing techniques that helped establish montage as a core component of film language. Griffith set out to unite four disparate storylines under the common theme of love's eternal battle with intolerance. While Griffith believed this film achieved its goal, some of his contemporaries argued that Intolerance was a "magnificent failure" (Eisenstein, 241). Indeed, Eisenstein proposed that the unification Griffith sought to create was impossible because the juxtaposition of these stories did not create new meaning. Instead, Eisenstein wrote that the lack of conflict between shots prevented the synthesis of a higher meaning, or montage trope. While it is true that Intolerance generally does not accomplish montage trope, especially when referencing Walt Whitman's Out of the Cradle Endlessly Rocking, where Griffith explicitly attempts it, there are examples of its implementation. Griffith does manage to achieve this higher meaning in the scene depicting a labor strike. Eisenstein's claim that Griffith never incorporates montage tropes into his films is false as demonstrated by the social criticism in the juxtaposition of the striking mill workers and Mr. Jenkins. Eisenstein describes montage trope as the juxtaposition of images resulting in a greater abstract meaning. By abstract, Eisenstein means that the significance of the juxtaposition is not confined to the individual images on the screen. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Analysis Of William Shakespeare 's Romeo And Juliet Introduction "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet." This quote from Shakespeare is from the balcony scene when Juliet tells Romeo that his name is meaningless and that he is still a handsome young man and that only their family names are enemies. This same quote can be applied in today's society in how people address each other based on different situations, especially when addressing women. There are many different titles that can be used to address women as opposed to men, but despite the title used, the woman herself does not change. Only the meaning and stereotype associated with the title used changes. Throughout the years, the titles used to address women have slowly shifted meaning from that of a social status to that of a marital status. Erickson (2014) explains that the titles "Miss" and "Mrs." are the oldest coined terms used to address women, and both of them derive from the title "Mistress." Both titles were generally only used for those of higher power and status. "Miss" described young girls while "Mrs.", described women who had governed subjects, was skilled, or who taught. Upon reaching adulthood, a "Miss" became a "Mrs.", and according to the Oxford English Dictionary, it was common for older, unmarried women to still use the title "Mrs." so they could increase their standing to be on par with married women. This was why sometimes this referred to as a "title of politeness" or "courtesy title." But by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
