The genre of the music played would be previous well played and popular songs in which
they hope to achieve to target all their target audience’s needs. The target audience would
be teenagers all the way to older adults, therefore they will be able to play older songs
which were being played when the teenagers were children and can relate to it with their
parents. There is a wide difference in advertisement which further appeals to a wide range
of the target audience because something like McDonalds will appeal to the teenagers and
the covers home ideas advert will appeal to the older generation who can afford a house.

Graham Ross (retired firefighter) – asking questions on 1990s hits again
The target audience for this radio station would predominantly be the older audience. I feel
this would be the target audience due to the quizzes asking questions about the 1990s
which would mean the target audience would have to be able to relate and know the
answers so they can interact with the radio station. The only advertisement shown was the
later show representing the fact that the audience would be a loyal and regular listeners
and would listen more than once a day.
BBC Radio 5-
How is this different to live radio?
This is a weekly podcast which is dedicated to new films that have been released on screens
very recently. The fact that this is a weekly podcast immediately differs from any other live
radio station as it has a dedicated spot which only talks about one certain topic. Also the
fact that it talks about the most recent films means this will be accessible to listen to even
the week after it is aired as they further talk about films coming out soon allowing
audiences to relate back to the station. This is further different to other live radio stations as
it has an interactive audience due to the fact that they send their messages into the show,
which they then talk about.
Who might the audience for this be?
The audience for this particular show would be an interactive audience due to the fact that
the show takes the publics comments on certain films and then discus their point of view
and if they agree or not. Furthermore, due to the fact that the show is aired around midday
on a weekday the audience is likely to be an older audience or a maybe an unemployed
audience. However if this is an older audience they also have to be socially interactive so
they are able to talk about films and interact with the show.
