Station 3 played mostly older music genres and mentioned "country oldies", also advertising an event on Radio 2, showing it aims for older audiences. However, one newer song was played.
The podcast talks about films in depth without music, interacting more with listeners. The language and films reviewed suggest an adult rather than younger audience.

Station 1- Heart
The genre of this radio station predominantly plays pop, I listened to three
songs and all of the songs that were played were pop songs. For example,
Perfect by Ed Sheeran was played.
There were many different adverts in the 10 minutes that I listened to the
radio station, there was around 4 adverts. The majority of these adverts are
intended for adults, as they wereadverts such as, PPI and mortgage
companies. This gives us a hint that the intended audience of this radio station
is for adults. However the genre of the songs hints that this radio station could
also be intended for a younger audience as it is more likely that younger
people are going to enjoy. This indicates that the audience is for a more
diverseage range, it is not specifically intended for one age group.
There was not much difference in the adverts that I heard they were mainly
fairly financial.
Station 2- ForestFM
The songs that were played on this radio station are mostly older songs that
the younger generation would more than likely not know. This indicates that
the intended audience is for the older generation rather than the younger
generation.
The whole time that I was listening to this radio station I heard no adverts, this
indicates that generally this radio station does not havemany adverts
regularly.
Station 3- Radio 2
Advertfor “Country to Country Festival” broadcast, this is intended for BBC
Radio 2 listeners becausethey were advertising the broadcastthat would be
broadcasted on Radio 2.
The genre of music that was played was predominantly music that the older
generation would like and that the younger generation would not be familiar
with, this shows that the intended audience is for the older generation. Steve
2. Wrightthe host also told listeners about “country oldies” that would be
broadcast, this again indicates that this would more likely be in the interest of
older viewers. There was however onemore up to date song that was “Cake by
the ocean” by DNCE.
Kermode and Mayo’s film review
There are a lot of differences to live radio, to this podcast. Live radio tends to
play a lot of songs and talks less and plays music morehowever, within this
podcastthey tend to talk more than anything else I did not hear any songs
being played when listening to this. They also interact more with the audience
more than live radio.
The audience of this may be more for the adults, the language that they use
indicates this, they usevocabulary that younger people would not use, and
there is no swearing but morecomplex words being used. The films that they
are reviewing as well, are less likely to be watched by a younger audience, it is
more so what an adult audience would watch.
