2. Process
For the first step of my production I decided to focus on the
background as my background will be the same throughout my game
therefore I think that creating this first can really help me to plan the
overall layout of my game and not have to worry too much about all
the different layers. For the design of this bedroom I looked at a lot of
different images from my research and planning and created a very
standard pink/girly bedroom with the bare minimum, I have also drawn
the wardrobe which will eventually have an opening door, I plan on
creating different clothing items that will eventually move, on my rails I
created different sets of hangers which I then set in an animation in
which I made to move, I think that this worked well as it made my
game look as if the wardrobe was consistently moving throughout the
game. Creating the scenery of the bedroom and the wardrobe was very
important as that would be what you would see in the background of
the game therefore I think that I prioritised this well. Next I then went
on to creating my character and I think that the overall look of my
character wasn’t that great however I think that the job worked and it
looked good enough that you could tell what I was aiming for. I used
the pencil tool to draw my character then just went it and coloured the
rest in.
3. Process
The next step that I did for my production is that I made
all the additional parts for example I decided to create
my characters with different outfits to make it easier for
when it came to the animating they were already made
for this I just created a separate layer and then coloured
over the top of it so that the original clothing would still
be underneath as I thought that this would be easier
when it came to the animation so that the top would still
be there for when the original character was there. I also
decided to create the words on the screens when things
were ‘loading’ and also a title screen and again I did this
before hand so that it was easier for when it came to my
actual animation as I thought this would save time now.
