2. Process
• Here I designed a car when making the car I had to
come up with a colour scheme that I would use, the
idea was to make the car look nice but also it is
important to make sure it stood out from the
background of the game and this is important the
car has to look like something someone would want
to play as/ drive. The size that I set the canvas to
was 120 pixels by 80 pixels. I used light blue, dark
blue, black, brown and red. This is the basis of the
car. The wheels had to be done on different layers
as I need them to move around to make it look like
the car is moving. I made the wheels red with a
white square in the middle this gave something to
for the eye to follow. I think that this is a good
design for the car because it has a reasonable style
for a car and I tried to make it as professional as
possible, I feel I have done this.
3. Process
• In this part of the work I added in lots pixel art that I made and
designed of the game name which was at the end terran and
this I then sparkled over with lots of dots in white on different
layers. I used the colour scheme of black, blue and white and
the reason of this is because all of these colours together
contrast nicely and this is a nice touch that I feel that I had
added to the work. I then created a timeline and separated
the layers. To draw the name I created a separate layer and
group and called it name in this I used the pencil tool to pixel
art the name of the game together and then I moved it into
the centre of the page and when animating it I made it so that
the title would appear in the middle and then lights would
flicker behind it and I added the flicker on loop and then
animated in the words appearing and the end result to this I
feel worked nicely. The background was created using a pain
bucket tool of blue and the boarders with a pencil tool with
black. My Thoughts on this part of the work is that it looks
nice overall and I think that it all came together well in the
end. My feeling for this part of my work is that I'm proud of it.
4. Process
• On this part of the work I started off with a layer called
background and created a blue background using the paint
bucket tool this gave the overall dark blue look and then I
used the pencil tool to create a boarder around as well as one
around the menu title screen. I added these layers into a
group that I called background, I found this part to be helpful
and I feel like it works well to keep everything in it tidy. I then
made a new layer where I added in menu and then created a
new group called option and within this group was 4 layers
one for each word in the menu screen. I then made a new
layer called switch bar and a new group to go with it called red
bar and this I the group I animated with time frames so that it
would show the scroller switching between options until It
gets back to the play option here it then transitions into
actually playing the game. I feel that I am happy with the
overall look of the menu however I think that It could have
been better as I could have had more options and shown
different screens for what each part of the menu screen
entails.
5. Process
• This the level one that I created and I feel that this was a nice
first step and a good first go at making the first level. I started
off with a layer I called background, I added in a blue sky and
straight muddy path. I duplicated this 10 times and grouped it
together then created a time frame where I pulled from one
end of the layer to the 10th layer making it into a side scroller
over 50 frames. Then I created a new layer for basis ground
where I added in bumps in the ground and made it different
all the way through the side scroll then added it into the group
so that it would follow through. I then created a layer where I
added in the different ramp and bridge challenges then added
them into the group so it would follow through as well. I
created a new layer for clouds and then a new layer for health
bar and didn’t add these to the group as I wanted it to just
follow through with the game. I made a starting line and then I
created a new group for car where I made the vehicle that you
drive in the game and made it go through the game frame by
frame beating the challenges so the end result was a ice
smooth animation of a car going through an example of a
level. My thoughts on this level is that it was time consuming
to do and I am happy with what I got done in the time
especially since it 5 goes getting it right with 5 different
versions of level one and I feel disappointed that it did not all
come together as I had planned and wanted the first time
around which would have given me more time for
improvements this time around.
6. Process
• For this level I wanted a mix between side scroller and down
scroller and I feel that I found it I created a downward pipe
map. I started by making a grey background and then a
boarder to go around I duplicated it 10 times and placed them
all down one spit from each other and when they where in
position I created a group called background and added them
to it then created a time frame animation where I pulled the
map down over 50 frames and then created multiple more Fra
throughout to capture the essence of the car stropping then
moving to a dropping position to then continue dropping
down. I then created a frame for each individual part of the
game such as car and level which I added in to flicker when
the game started and end when it finished. I also added in a
side scroll at the bottom of the level where once it reaches
the bottom you have to drive to the right and it starts to side
scroll I did this the same way as I made the level one and the
down scroll only to a different side. I feel that this was a good
level I would say my best one that I did overall or my favourite
as it brought in improvements from the last level and a better
overall look and I think that I could have improved it by
extending the level but by the time I had completed this I just
did not have the time.
