2. Photoshop: This software allowed
construct two products to promote the
artist and the album by using imagery and
editing techniques which challenged my
techniques to create an effective and
professionally ancillaries such as a Digi
Pak and advert. Photoshop allowed to
improved my techniques in the production
stages by using techniques such as drop
shadows and manipulating brightness of
my image to fit the conventions of the
alternative/indie genre but also represent
the artist.
Photo shop became very useful and
successful as I achieved a professional
look for both of my ancillaries.
3. Google was a very useful search engine
when came to the research part of the
coursework by selecting a song, finding
real media products such as music
videos, adverts and Digi Pak to
construction our own media product.
This search engine was also very useful
when it came to the product part of the
coursework to find accessible locations
for the video for filming purposes so we
were able to construct narrative we
wanted to achieve through mise en
scene. This software was very
accessible as we could access it
through the use of different digital
technologies such as a mobile phone
and a computer.
4. IPhone: This digital technology
was useful for two things to
communicate to other member of
the group when it came to
production part of coursework and
planning times and dates making
sure that people within the group
where able to make it and suggest
ideas. Another reason why the
iPhone was useful was due to
construction as we used an
iPhone camera to capture footage
in certain locations such as clubs
as it’s much easier to film with an
iPhone camera in compacted
spaces and has the same digital
quality as a Nikon/canon camera.
5. Facebook: this media technology was very
important to all aspects of the coursework
such as research, evaluation and planning.
Facebook allowed us to communicate to
one another to discuss ideas about the
video and what will attract audiences and
also dates and time for able to film footage
for the video. Facebook also allowed us to
send links to of our questionnaire for market
research purposes on what audiences like
and what they want to see in music videos,
which was much easier to communicate
with others than printing the questionnaire
out and giving them to people.
Facebook was very accessible as we were
able to download the Facebook app to or
digital devices make it easier to
communicate on the go
6. Survey monkey: this software was
very important came to creating
and collecting market research as I
was able to generate different
questions to give to audience to
give sense of what people link to
see in music videos and music
genre people prefer to listen too
which were then emailed and sent
link through Facebook and
answered by selected audiences
which survey monkey collected the
results which made it much easier
to understand the answers as they
were put into line charts.
