ACKNOWLEDGMENT
This project is done as a major project titled, a part of course CIVIL
ENGINEERING DILOMA.
We are really thankful to the HOD RAKESH ASWAL, CIVIL ENGINEERING,
Govt. Ram Chandra Khaitan Polytechnic, Jaipur, for their invaluable
guidance and assistance, without which the accomplishment of the task
would have never been possible.
We also thank K2K REAL ESTATE PVT. LTD. JAIPUR, for giving us this
opportunity to explore the real world and complete our project work
within limited time fram e.

5. SAFETY INDUCTION
Safety is very important partof any work. An induction video wasshowed
which highlighted the need and importance of safety at construction site. Most
accidentscan be preventedby taking simple measuresor adopting proper
working procedures. Itis very important todiscuss issues on safetyand health
that should be paid attention to on construction sites for easy referenceby the
workers. If wework carefully and take appropriatesafetymeasures, there will
definitely be fewer work injury cases, and our siteswill become a safe and
secure place to work in. It is important to educate everyonein the site
regarding safety for following purposes.
■ Workers safety
■ Construction progress
■ Standard procedure
■ Legalcases
■ Working efficiency
Precautions at site for safety-
■ Wear protectiveequipment.
■ Wear FaceMask.
■ Do not drink or take drugs while working.
■ Pay attentionto personalhygiene
■ Do not play in the workplace.
■ Reportto your supervisor immediately if you noticeany unsafe condition.

CONSTRUCTION STEPS INVOLVED IN BUILDING CONSTRUCTIONS
• Site clearance.
• .
Excavation.
• Concreting.
• Beam and Columns.
SITE CLEARANCE
A no of conditions determinethe kind of building that may beerectedon a
plot of ground. These conditions determinewhere on the plot it may be
located. There arealso convenantsthat are legally binding regulations. These
may be setting height of building, prohibitutility of buildings or ban rooftop
network towersetc.
EXCAVATION
Excavation work on the site wasbeing done by the JCB Machinesand
excavatedsoil wastransferred using dumpers.
Followingmeasures shouldbe preventedwhile excavationwork.
1-There should be proper timbering whileexcavationfor basement
area.
2-Dewatering should bedone before construction work.
3-During rainy seasonexcavationwork should be avoided.

9. Slump Test Of Concrete
Concrete Slump Test is a measurement of concrete's workability, or fluidity.
It's an indirect measurement of concrete consistency or stiffness. A slump
test is a method used to determine the consistency of concrete. The
consistency, or stiffness, indicates how much water has been used in the
mix. The stiffness of the concrete mix should be matched to the
requirements for the finished product quality
10. Compressive Strength Test Of Concrete
Compressive strength of concrete is the Strength of hardened
concrete measured by the compression test. The compression strength of
concrete is a measure of the concrete's ability to resist loads which tend to
compress it. It is measured by crushing cylindrical concrete specimens in
compression testing machine.
Anuj
Compressive strength = Total force on cube / Area of cube
11. FORMWORK
Yogesh And Dashrath
Formwork (Shuttering) is temporary support as a mould for fresh
concrete, in which concrete is poured and cast in the desired shape and
gain initial strength, hardened and matured.
12. CONCRETING
Aftershuttering and scaffolding concreting should bedone.
Duringconcretingfollowingequipment’sareused-
■Concretemixer.
■Mountedconcretepump.
■Concretevibrators (e.g. Needle vibrator, plate/ surfacevibrator etc.)
*Only Needle vibrator is being used at our site
Duringconcretingworkfollowinginstructionsshouldbe followed-
■There should be proper compaction of poured concrete.
■There should be spacers/cover blocksto provide cover to reinforcement.
■There should be proper curing of concreteconstruction.
13. BEAMS AND COLUMNS
In framed structure fixedtypebeamsareconstructed. In such typeof
beamsproper reinforcement should bedone for positive as well as
negative bending moments.
In such typeof structures shortcolumns are constructed withminimum eccentricity. In
square or rectangular shaped columns min. 4 no’sof 12 mm diameterbarsmust be
used and spacing should notbe morethan as per code IS Code 456:2000.

2. ROD :-Reinforcement used in column10 ROD.
3. ROD DIAMETER:- (8)32mm, (18)25mm
4. RING USED IN COLUMN:- BOTTOM TO ROOF TOTAL-
24RING.
5. RING DIAMETER:- 8mm
6. RING AROUND ANGLE-90,135DEGREE
Fact- Rebar is the short form of Reinforcement Bar
15. Curing
Curing of concrete is defined as providing adequate moisture,
temperature, and time to allow the concrete to achieve the desired
properties for its intended use
*hessian cloth is used for supporting curing at our site

MATERIALS
MATERIALS USED FOR CONSTRUCTION AT SITE
At the construction site following materials werebeing used
Cement
The function of cementis to combine with water and to form cementpaste.
This paste first sets i.e. it becomesfirms and thenhardens dueto chemical
reaction, calledhydration, betweenthecementand water. Onsetting &
hardening, thecementbinds the aggregate together into a stone like hard
mass & thus provides strength, durability & water-tightentothe concrete.
Quality of cementis based on grade of cement. The grades of cement are as-
■33 Grades
■43 Grades
■53 Grades
■At the site Portlandcementof 53 grades(ULTRATECHCEMENT) wasused.
■The initial setting time of cement = 30 minutes (1/2 hr.)
■The final setting time of cement= 10hrs.
17. The material that develops a good bond with concrete in order to increase
its strength is called reinforcement. Steel bars are highly strong in tension,
shear,bending moment, torsion and compression.
■Functionof reinforcement-
Reinforcement working asa tension member because concreteis strong in
compression and week in tension so reinforcementresiststhe tensile
stresses in the concretemembers. Atthe site contractor using thehigh
strengthsteel barsand T.M.T. (Thermo Mechanically Treated) barsof
diameter8 mm,10 mm, 16 mm,& 32 mm as per requirementof design.
At constructionsite8 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm,& 32 mm(T.M.T.) reinforcement
barswerebeing used.
The barswere of grade Fe415 for 8mm and Fe500 for other diameter
bars. The barswereof brand TATA TISCON.
■The main reasonof usingsteel barsinRCC is that, the coefficients of
thermal expansionof steel bars and concreteisof approximately equal
value.
