Stand Out

Importance of a resume in an interview
Your resume is the most crucial document you will submit during your job search. As the
first opportunity to introduce yourself to interviewer, it is your "frontline fighter." Hiring
managers and recruiters spend an average of six to seven seconds looking at a resume, so it's
important to make every second count. A strong resume can help you stand out, whereas a
weak resume can eliminate you from consideration.
Simple resume writing advice that will make you stand out
It can be hard to put all of your skills and experiences on one page, but there are many ways
to improve your resume without going overboard. We have compiled the best resume writing
advice to assist you in landing an interview.
➢ Elaborate but a little :The resume should be short but detailed. Keeping the question
in mind, if you have been asked to write a concise but effective. Generally, CVs are
expected to be lengthy, but it's important to determine whether the employer wants a
resume, CV, or a short CV.
➢ Make yourself irresistible:You must boast about your accomplishments to attract the
attention of HR representatives. You must highlight your strengths and abandon
modesty.
➢ Read and reread the job description :So that you are familiar with the precise
qualifications necessary for a candidate. This will also inform you of the keywords
employers search for in your resume. Most employers do not spend more than 10
seconds per CV, so make sure yours stands out by including all relevant keywords.
➢ Be formal and not artistic : Use a narrow margin around your Resume, provide
headings for subtopics, and do not leave too much white space in the middle. Personal
Images, and emoticons, are not acceptable on a resume.
➢ Use active language : Resume should be written in active language. This means you
should make sentences shorter or ideas to be elaborated in short.
➢ Work Experience: Experience is one of the most important things that will determine
whether you get that job or not. You don't have to have experience only in the field
you are applying for. You can also add other experiences. For example, if you are
applying for a job in the hospitality and management industry, you can have
3. experience organising local events, etc. You can also put volunteer work or other
projects you've done in a separate section if they are relevant to the job.
➢ Details that are important at the top: No one has time to read all of the things on
your resume about you. You have about 5 to 6 seconds to get the hiring manager's
attention. So it is very important to put only the most important information at the top
so that the person looking to hire you has a good first impression of you.
➢ Make it clear and to the point: Don't make room for information that isn't important.
Try to make your resume easy to read and understand. Instead of making a two-page
resume, you can cut out the extraneous stuff and get right to the point. Trust me, a
short resume that gets to the point is much more interesting than a long one.
➢ Show your accomplishments more than your skills: Instead of using a lot of space
on your resume to list your skills, end it with what you've done with those skills and
some of your interests. It will show what you can do if you are given the chance.
➢ Don't put false information on your resume: I've seen a lot of people lie on their
resumes, like giving a fake reason for leaving a job or saying they worked at a job for
longer than they actually did. If you want to make a resume that people can trust, you
should never do it. The owner of the company may have checked all the information
you gave before hiring you. If any false information is found, you will lose your job
or not be able to work there at all.
➢ Never Forget Proofreading: Editing and improving your resume is just as important
as any other step you need to take to make a good one. You should make sure that all
the information is in the right order and format, that there are no spelling or grammar
mistakes, and that there are no typos. Look over your resume quickly and leave out
4. any information that isn't important.
Simple Interview Preparation tips you must follow.
➢ Confidence: Don't be afraid of losing! Aside from domain skills, this is the most
important thing a student should have. It’s possible that you will need to learn the
answer to a question. But you can still make the interviewer see your point of
view.
➢ Get Dressed Well: Always dress well before an interview. Avoid any party wears
or unformal dressing.
➢ Get a good understanding: Get some dose of better understanding of your field
of work and job role. As well as about the company.
➢ Being Creative: Knowing an answer and presenting it are two different things!
The whiteboard method highlights creative capabilities and out of the box
thinking which is essential for problem solving.
➢ Communication skill: So you are saying, apart from your reading, writing and
speaking you are able to articulate an answers.
➢ Connecting the dots: It shows the ability of your brain to remember, connect the
dots, create and present with so much grace
➢ Don't forget to do your homework. You might be applying for a job in a specific
field. Make sure you know how much comes in and how much goes out of your

5. area of interest. It's better to learn a lot about one subject than to know a little bit
about many. They will judge how smart you are based on what you say. If you say
vague things about things people don't know much about, they'll make up their
own minds right away.
➢ Don't mind having to compete: You're going to work in the business world, so
make your voice heard wherever you can (GD, group activities round). During a
group discussion, you should be the first to bring up a topic and make sure to say
something smart instead of just making points to win.
➢ Only act like you can do something if you can really do it: It's hard for
interviewers to tell if you can do something in real life. You can act like you know
or want to learn a certain skill or technology when you don't. But if you don't do
that in real life, you'll have problems.
➢ It's okay to say no: If you don't know something, just smile a little and say in a
nice way, "I don't know much about this topic, but if you give me a chance to
learn, I'll give you the best of what I know on this topic." The person doing the
interview will be very impressed by someone who wants to learn.
➢ Posture: This may not be as important as other things, but it's still important if
you want to have a really good aura around you. Having your hands on your knees
and standing up straight can make you look confident.
➢ Don't be afraid to negotiate: If you're just starting out, you might not have many
opportunities to negotiate, but if you have some experience, you can definitely
make your demands known. We get paid less because we don't ask for what we're
really worth and end up settling for less. It's better to over-quote and try to come
to an agreement than to under-quote and give up.
Don't be afraid of failing: If you try all of these things and still can't get a job, don't worry.
Persistence is more powerful than anything else. There are lots of companies in the world, so
you're sure to find one.
