WHEN CHOOSING MATERIALS FOR WRITING
TASKS
STUDENTS’ BACKGROUND
• Teachers should consider students’ background
to make sure the materials chosen are relatable
so that students could understand and write
better.
STUDENTS’ INTERESTS
• Teachers should take note students’ interests for
example the genre they are into so that writing could be
interesting instead of boring.
• This is also to make sure students are excited to write.
STUDENTS’ LEVEL
• Teachers should find materials that could challenge
students’ level of competency so that they could step
up and challenge themselves.
• This is also to make sure students do not get bored of
writing.
TEACHERS HAVE TO PAY
ATTENTION TO:
• The adaptability and flexibility of the materials.
- This is to make sure the materials cater to students’ need.
- This is also to challenge students’ skills and development.
• The guidance and support students need.
- This is so that teachers could pay more attention to their
students.
- This is also to make sure students understand and achieve the
goal in writing.
