DEFINITION
A student portfolio is compilation of academic work and other forms of educational
evidence assembled for purpose.
OR
A portfolio is a collection of records that reflects your accomplishments, skills and
experiences.
PURPOSE OF PORTFOLIO
• The purpose of portfolio is to document all stage of learning process.
• helping students reflect on their academic goals and progress as
learners.
• To compile other work of class such as test notes, quizzes,
assignments, reflections, Etc.
• Portfolios can help teacher monitor and evaluate learning progress
over time.
• In addition to showcase the students work, portfolio emphasis upon
three domains, affective, cognitive, psychomotor and encourage
students to become active participant in understanding their own
learning.
IMPORTANCE OF PORTFOLIO
• To improve students cognitive ability to understand their own
learning process.
• It is the method of self discovery and confidence building.
• Portfolio can tell how students have grown, matured and improved as
learners over coarse of school years.
• It allows students to be more personal and creative in order to expand
on and exhibit skills, knowledge and experience
• The personal information that you compile in to your portfolio can
greatly reflect on students ability as an individual.

Introduction to Portfolio

  • 2. DEFINITION A student portfolio is compilation of academic work and other forms of educational evidence assembled for purpose. OR A portfolio is a collection of records that reflects your accomplishments, skills and experiences.
  • 3. PURPOSE OF PORTFOLIO • The purpose of portfolio is to document all stage of learning process. • helping students reflect on their academic goals and progress as learners. • To compile other work of class such as test notes, quizzes, assignments, reflections, Etc. • Portfolios can help teacher monitor and evaluate learning progress over time. • In addition to showcase the students work, portfolio emphasis upon three domains, affective, cognitive, psychomotor and encourage students to become active participant in understanding their own learning.
  • 4. IMPORTANCE OF PORTFOLIO • To improve students cognitive ability to understand their own learning process. • It is the method of self discovery and confidence building. • Portfolio can tell how students have grown, matured and improved as learners over coarse of school years. • It allows students to be more personal and creative in order to expand on and exhibit skills, knowledge and experience • The personal information that you compile in to your portfolio can greatly reflect on students ability as an individual.
