Evaluation Question 7
1.
2. When I look back at my school
magazine, I feel like I have learnt a
lot, especially in the area of
Photoshop. Before hand I knew
little to nothing at all, and even
though we didn’t use Photoshop in
the preliminary task, I feel that my
lack of knowledge and skills for
Publisher shows a lot. I used a lot of
box’s to help me layout the
magazine (yet it was a good
structural technique) and it made it
look very basic and boring. My
colour scheme was very bland,
and my school logo was a
photograph of a drawing I did on
my plan. This shows that my
knowledge at this point was very
basic and very limited.
3. When planning my school magazine, it was originally going to be a
Halloween special, hence the reason why I used Alice in
Wonderland with creepy make-up. In my first plan I was going to use
multiple graphics of pumpkins/bats/coffins as well as other
Halloween inspired images. However I realised that this would be
quite difficult because I would have to hand draw all the images
and the house style would have no consistency as all the fonts and
colours would change in order to fit the theme of Halloween. But I
have learned that it needed to be conventional to the genre of
music I am aiming to promote and represent.
4. My music magazine cover changed a lot over time, the design changed and so
did the layout. This was because there wasn’t a lot of content on the cover, too
much space and it just didn’t represent my target audience well enough.
5. My magazine contents page changed a lot too, the layout changed regularly
due to content being added/taken away and manipulated. This was because
there wasn’t a lot of content, too much space and it just didn’t fit the codes and
conventions of a music genre.
6. My double page spread didn’t change that much, except for the fact that I
wanted to manipulate the image a bit more as I felt that it didn’t stand out to
the audience that much. By making it more vibrant, I felt that it made the star
look bolder and I also felt that the boldness of the image fitted well with the
colour scheme.
