Magazine style, attitude and size
As I want my magazine to be for readers
interested in indie music, my magazine
could have a vintage and/or unique
look. This will reflect the magazines
outlook as it will be linked to the genre
of music. As it won’t be aimed at a
specific gender it will have a neutral
colour and style options. It will still have
a fairly modern overview as it will
attract the younger generation which is
who my magazine is aimed towards.

2. 1. This is a blue/grey based colour scheme. The background colour could be the off white
one from the left of the chart. The masthead could be the left colour as it is the brightest.
The main writing could be the navy blue on the left as this would stand out against the off
white background. This colour scheme would give an indie vibe as it isn't too bright.
However they are all very similar so would give off a very basic look.
2. This is a good colour scheme as
the orange would be the main title
colour as it is the boldest, also it
could be a main colour to highlight
more important things in the
magazine. The main font colour
could be either 2 from the left as it
would show up clearly against the
light background. However some of
the colours are too dark so I would
alter this slightly.
3. This colour scheme is very pale and
pastel, so this would give a unique look
to the magazine. The background would
be the off white colour at the left of the
picture and the masthead would be the
second from the right as this colour is the
darkest and sticks out the most. The
main writing of the magazine could be
the blue in the centre of the picture as
this would stand out the most against the
light background. However these colours
are all very light so could look washed
out.
For my colour scheme I will use mainly
colour scheme 2, as it has a nice mix of blues
in it which I think will compliment the look of
my magazine. Also I can use the orange as a
main colour and can use it throughout the
magazine to highlight key things that I want
to stand out. Also I am using the off white
colour from colour scheme 1 as it wont look
as harsh as plain white.
