Semester Two
Under supervision of : A.Prof Samah Kamel
2. ➢More than 300 genes are responsible for
the anatomy of the teeth so any defect
on these genes will lead to a definite
change in the morphology of the tooth.
3. ➢ The Upper First Permanent Molar:
❏ They may have one or two or four or
five roots.
❏ Six or seven root canal or C_shaped
canal configuration.
4. ❏ Normal crown Four cusps
Tubercle of Carabelli.
❏ Abnormal crown five or Three
cusps (Tubercle of Carabelli oblique
ridge) are missed.
➢ Normal Teeth:
5. ❏ A 9-year-old child reported to the
Oral Health Sciences Center.
❏ The central cusp also known as
“Dens Evaginatus”.
➢ The Upper Second Permanent Molar:
6. ➢To be cont.:
❏ Three roots and canals .
❏ Two separate roots .
1 Root, 1 Canal
8. ➢ Concrescence:-
❏ It's a fusion of the cementum of two
teeth or more at root formation , more
frequently noted in maxillary region .
(second and third (impacted)molar)
(0.8%)
9. ❏ A Radiograph showing a fused
upper 8 and 7 in the root portion.
10. ❏ The third molars may have from
1 to 5 roots,
❏ The roots may get fused, it's
very common .
11. From 1 to 6 root canals.
5 root canals
3 root canals
12. Dens invaginatus : extensive
compound odontoma, and dens
in dente, occurs as a
consequence of an invagination
on the external surface of the
tooth crown before calcification
.
Maxillary right third molar with six
cusps and dens evaginatus.
13. ➢ Impacted maxillary third molar :
❏ Third molar exposed to be
impacted .
❏ (1) mesioangular, (2) distoangular, (3)
vertical, (4) horizontal, (5)
buccoangular , (6) linguoangular, (7)
inverted.
14. ➢ Supernumerary teeth :
❏ Are rare with a percentage of occurance between (0.3 -3.8) .
❏ The etiology of supernumerary teeth has not been yet completed classified .
❏ A total of 28.72 cases were reviewed from 87 fourth molars are identified .
❏ Cases are reported with disto molars .
15. ➢ Paramolars :
❏ Position of paramolars .
❏ Shapes of paramolars.
❏ The difficulty in seeing paramolars by
radiographic examination .
❏ The measurements of the paramolars.
