2. Kasabian - Kasabian
The name of the band (and
in this case, the name of
the album) is shown in
large writing to establish
the main theme of this
advertisementIn addition to the name of the
band, their website is linked
directly under the name to
give fans extra information if
they want to read more into
the band
The actual album cover is
shown in the advertisement
and takes up most of the page
showing that this is the most
important part that should
stand out to everyone
What is often seen on magazine advertisements
is the phrase ‘including the singles’ which helps the
audience recognise the band a bit easier as if they
know the singles they are more likely to be interested
in listening to the full album upon release.
At the bottom of the page we
see many different options for
different types of purchases
you can make depending on
how music you support the
artist. This is often done to
showcase the many different
ways you can consume their
album.
3. Olly Murs - Right place
right time
Again we see the name of the artist
and the name of the album which
covers the majority of the right third
of the page which immediately
suggests that this is the main point
of the advertisement
We see frequently on magazine
adverts the date of the release of the
album. In this case, we see ‘Out Now’
which is also commonly seen in
adverts as it indicates to the audience
that the album is available to buy. This
encourages people to buy the album
now as they don’t have to wait for its
release.
What we do not see on Kasabian’s
advert is an image of the artist
themselves. I believe this gives people
who do not know the artist a clear
image of what they look like so they
can relate to them easier.
Again we see the addition of the
phrase ‘Includes the single’ but in t his
case it is ‘No.1 Single’ which I believe
makes the audience more attracted
the artist as if they know they have a
number 1 single they may want to
listen to them
The addition of the website is seen
again as it is very common in
magazine adverts to give the audience
more information if they seek it
4. Lana Del Rey - Born
To Die
Immediately we see the large title of
the artist and the album in capital
letters to establish the main points in
this advertisement. Capital letters are
used to make these parts stand out as
they are the most important.
Again we see the image of the artist
which is used as a background to the
advertisement. This is so she stands
out and so that people can
immediately establish her as the artist
The release date of the album shown
is along with other features of the
advertisement are shown in smaller
and neater fashion than the bold title.
This is to give people extra information
about the album.
Again we see the phrase ‘includes’
which is followed by a number of
tracks on the album which people may
have heard of that they can already be
interested in before they hear the rest
of the album.
