2. Who is the target audience for the media
product?
• Young adults aged 15 to 30 who enjoy watching horror films
and seek adrenaline rushes.
• The target audience will also enjoy going to the cinemas and
watching the latest films that are being talked about on social
networking sites.
• Ones that create a large audience anticipation.
• Typically these people will be fashionable and in education.
3. Why?
• This age groups sees the most horror films than any other age group
by a considerable amount.
4. Also…
• Our protagonist, James is dealing with a massive problem on his
shoulders, he is responsible for his little sisters death but no one
knows.
• His life has been changed because of this immense guilt.
• This has caused him to exclude him self from society meaning he is
socially awkward.
• Therefore this film can relate to many teenagers who feel like they are
under immense pressure and do not quite fit in to mainstream
society.
5. Cultures?
• During research I found that most people watch films because they
can relate to the main characters.
• This is why the main character is a seventeen year old.
• However…
• we decided not to give too much information away in terms of
background of the characters so that it allows everyone from any
subculture to find the film appealing.
6. Certificate rating?
• Its a horror movie.
• It will allow us to add some gore and graphic scenes.
• Our target audience is 15- 30 therefore we do not lose any audience.
• Could be psychologically damaging to children.
