The primary audience is independent women aged 15-25 who want to challenge stereotypes. The secondary audience is goths and horror movie enthusiasts who enjoy graphic violence and death. The additional audience is thrill-seekers aged 25-45 who enjoy dangerous activities and will be interested in the film's jump scares. 15 to 25 who are in some way influential and change
some people’s perspective of women. The primary
audience is strong women who dislike stereotypes.
These are the women which do what they can be
bothered to in order to change everyone's perspective
of the female gender. The cast of the descent is all
women for a reason: to show otherwise from other
movies that female characters can in fact take care of
themselves in a tragic situation and beat the
stereotype.
This audience would have a social grade of E or D as
they are not the wealthiest of people; instead they are
people with basic jobs.
This is because the film features a group of
independent women doing dangerous activities
together.

2. Secondary Audience – Goths/ horror movie enthusiasts
This is the secondary audience as they are likely to watch a movie with horrific moments and lots of blood for the sake of it.
They are the kind of audience that enjoy seeing blood and people getting murdered in movies as they either hate everyone
or just like the sight of death. While this audience consists of mainly men, there are also women which watch these types of
films therefore they would watch the descent for the pleasure of watching the girl’s misery in The Descent. They would
usually be put in the social class of E as they would either not have a job or would be part time to have time for the movie.
This is because ‘The Descent is a horror film with a lot of gore, danger and death.

3. Additional audience – thrill seekers
The additional audience will be thrill seekers as they will watch a horror movie for the “thrill” of being scared.
Because the descent is a horror movie, they will be eager to watch it yet will be disappointed by the time it
ends. The main part of this audience is those which enjoy descending however any caving and/or danger
enthusiasts will also be the additional audience. Another reason this would be the additional audience is
because they will be able to relate to the things happening in the movie and enjoy it. Their social grade would
be anything between D and C as poshies would not do extreme sports and poor people will not be able to
afford this. These people will be aged 25 to 45 as they will have to have a method of large income while also
having time to do their extreme activities.
These people will be interested in this film due to their enthusiasm for the jump scares in the film.

4. Rubicam
The primary audience is part of the reformers group due to them being strong
and non-stereotypical women who are very influential about their right. They
are also usually yuppies and lombards because they are either well off and
horrible to the people around them or young, social people.
The secondary audience is a group of individuals, who have a different view
on everything than anyone else. They do not do the mainstream things and
would watch the less popular movies. Their opinion is likely to be different to
other people’s as well as a different taste in entertainment.
The additional audience are dinkys because they will have a lot of income and
no kids in order to do extreme activities so frequently. The older members of
this audience can be aspirers and succeeders as those groups usually have
nothing better to do therefore resort to extreme sports for entertainment.
