2. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
• Main target ages: 15-24 teenagers Male and
Female
• This is the main target audience for the big
bang theory is because its rated 15 for this
show as its during this age that they are still
kids but a more invested in more mature
jokes, and could possibly almost relate to
the characters towards there geeky status
as its during these ages that you care more
about your work input.
• Secondary Audience
• Secondary target ages: 24-40 Adults Male
and female
• The secondary target audience for the big
bang theory would have to be ages ranging
from 20-24 as they would appear to be less
invested on the show concentrating more on
work life as its their main priority. However
there is a certainty that shows like these
would come up in any sort of discussion of
3. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
• main target ages: teenagers/adults 18-30
(Male and female)
• For a main target range I would Halloween
being between 18-30, as it’s a suitable age
for them to go and watch at the cinema or
have permission of such people to watch
films with graphic content and jump
scares.
• Secondary Audience
• Secondary target ages: teenagers 13-18
(Male and female)
• For teenagers 13-18 there has been a
whole range of them being interested in
such horror movies and at that more
modern films today. There is almost a
gruesome escapism at that age and many
consider it at that age category to be cool
if you’re not scared of such things.
4. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
main target ages: children 1-6 (Male
and female)
• The main target audience for cartoon
shows are children as it shows a bit of
fun light-hearted humour, and is
almost inspiring in an odd way,
showing a group of people appearing
as detectives and uncover the truth.
• Secondary Audience
• Children/teens 6-13 (male and
female)
• This would appear as to being the
secondary audience as not many
people during this age would watch
certain show like that when their an
early teen however if there flicking
through cartoon shows with nothing
do. It might just appeal to them.
5. Hypodermic Needle
• Definition
• Audience listening to any public media or anybody
else and giving it the benefit of the doubt by
accepting the information.
• Example
• One example of the hypodermic needle theory is the
war of the world situation which started in 1939
when the public audience heard a radio broadcast
telling them that aliens were coming to invade
planet earth and they believed them.
6. Uses and Gratifications
Information
• Information:
• One way I receive any information from media, is
by following the news on my phone often BBC and
with any breaking news incident I receive
notifications off my phone. By doing this, it will
make me assure of daily events and any main topic
of discussion with anybody if said.
• If somebody was to tell me such events of any
breaking news displayed on the media. Then I
would have to look online in order of proof and to
satisfy my curiosity.
7. Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
• Personal identity:
• I can't think of many famous characters or
celebrities that I can really relate to. I think
David bowie was a certain celebrity that I
could almost see myself in. With both of us
having quite a similar type of music style and
almost his bohemian style, which I very much
appeal to and how he wanted to be different
from the rest.
8. Uses and Gratifications Integration
and Social Interaction
• Integration and social interaction:
• I feel like I have a real sense of belonging of
certain aspects of films like comedy films or
adventurous films, where you can watch these
films and enjoy them and then bring it forth
into a topic of discussion. With this there a
certain encrypted messages in films that you
might not have realised but from the help of
somebody else you might see their point of
view and agree with them on it.
9. Uses and Gratifications
Entertainment
• Entertainment:
• For me the main Entertaiment of it is escapism
where you can just hop from world to another:
reality to imaginary or canon to non-canon. It's
really what you think about when not just watching
a film or TV programme put it's how you observe
looking at the repetitive mannerisms popping up,
that the actor or actress has put in.
• It's not just films that escapism can also be
enjoyed its certain things like social media or video
games, where you can meet people online.
10. Consumer Generated Content
• Example
• Uploading Instagram posts
• What are the advantages to media producers?
• Money being made
• More of an eye on the public view if it starts a chain
reaction.
• Why would the audience generate content?
• Mainly for entertainment reasons as it's fun to see
what other people are doing and how they stay
updated.
