Target Audience
My target audience is 16-24 years old males. I have chosen this age range because they have
more free time to spend playing video games and is the age range is likely to be playing video
games so my product would appeal to them more. I have chosen to appeal to the male gender
because violent video games appeal more to a male audience then a female. The social status of
my target audience is ABC1 because even though my product is going to be free for the audience
to understand it or be interested in it they have to be able to play video game so my audience
needs to have money they can spend of luxury items so that is why I pick the social status of
ABC1. The psychographic I want to appeal to is the belongers because my product is about video
games which are popular which the belongers wants to fit in so they will watch the product so that
they gain some knowledge about video games so that they can fit in. Belongers are also very
brand loyal so they will watch my product if they are a fan of I game I am showing or a fan of the
genre I am showing. My product will be in English and with English subtitles this will limit its
geodemographic because people who don’t understand what watch my product because they
won’t be able to understand it, this limits my geodemographic to English speaking countries like
England, America and Australia. My product subject is video games which is widely loved around
the world so my product could appeal to other countries but because of my English accent it might
appeal more to English people. To understand my product, you need to own luxury items so my
product will less likely appeal to people living in poor areas but appeal more to people living in
richer areas. My primary audience is people who like video games and secondary audience is
people who might be studying video games and what to gain more knowledge on video games. To
appeal to my secondary audience, I will add facts about the video games I am showing in my
product. The uses and gratification my audience is going to get from my product is that it will teach
my audience some facts about video games and will entertain them because the product will be
about something the audience likes.
Rationale:
The products I have made through this year will help me make this current product. One of my first
products was a music video which I filmed and edited this product made me learn premier pro
which is going to be helpful in this project. The skills I learned in premier pro where making and
adding transition which makes the video look smooth, cutting and stretching video clips so it fits in
time with the audio. I also have done an animation/video game project and a magazine project
which help me learn skills in photoshop which will be useful in this project because if I wanted to
make a graphic or animation, I could do that in photoshop. My last project I worked on was a short
horror film which I filmed and edited which refined my skills in premier pro and I learned how to
colour grade and use DLSR cameras which will be helpful in this project.
Project Concept:
My concept is a documentary on the evolution of the first-person shooter genre in video games. I
will look into what made them popular, how they have changed and adapted over time and I will
look at the most popular first-person shooter games of all time. I am going to record my own
footage but if I can’t record the game, I will need to require it another way like from someone else
who has recorded some gameplay of the game I need. I will need to research different types of
first-person shooter games and see how they have changed over time and I will also have to
research what makes first-person shooter games fun. This will make my project accurate because
I have researched the genre. I will also have to research what games are going to go in my project
and this which one changed the genre forever.

How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will evaluate my work by comparing it to similar products and what is different and see what we
have do the same. I will also look back at productions to see what went well and what I could’ve
done better. I will take screen shots of production so that I can see what I could make different. I
will also make sure to use the things I have learned to make my next project better.
