The style which has been used in this website is formal as it is
informing people with the latest news and upbringing talent that is
being showcased. The writing in this particular website is serif writing
as the font is Times New Roman and you can clearly see that it has
been put into context like that. The page is laid out very well as the
link and tab lines are on the left hand side of the website with
pictures and images in the middle with captions and video’s about
the club and its past history. The whole purpose of this website is to
show the fans the history of the club and to provide them with the
latest news. The page is laid out in columns uses features such as
captions, quotes and page numbering as the direct links straight take
you to the place where you want to go. For example, if you want to
find out more about the players, then you will just have to click on
‘players & staff’ to access the players details. The images are placed
directly in the middle as you can see it straight away as soon as you
go on the website.

The style which has been used in this website is formal as it is
informing people, the audience of the latest news about football and
its memorable stories that is placed on the website to gather more
attention, as some may think that the latest news is not interesting or
isn’t attracting attention. The font style that is used in this website is
san serif but the actual font type is Arial as it is clear and not hard to
read. The website is made up of modern writing as everything is
brand new and full of new things such as new or images that are
appropriate and useful you can clearly see that it has been put into
context like that. The page is laid out very well as it is very organised
and in sections. The columns are made up of different headlines and
right at the top of the website there is columns for different sections
for sports news that you can access. For example, it has links for
sports sections such as; tennis, rugby and cricket. Also, the website
has features such as captions, pull quotes and page numbering. The
images are usually at the top of the writing, so that the image stands
out and people will be attracted to it more easily.

6. SUMMARY
There are many differences in these two websites and these go from;
different page layouts, columns and images. For example, the official
Manchester United website is laid out differently because the
columns/links are on the left hand side of the website whereas on the
football mail online website the columns/links are on the very top of
the website. The styles are very different as well because the style of
the Manchester United website is serif. However, the style of the
football mail online website is san serif as you can clearly see this in
the writing. Also the font styles are very much different as the font
style on the Manchester United website is Times New Roman
compared to the font style on the football mail online website which
is Arial. Moreover, the images are put out differently as the images on
the Manchester United website is right in the middle of the website
whereas the images on the football mail online website is on top of
the writing for each headline.
