Forbes is an American family bussiness controlled magazine
founded on september 15,1917 published weekly featuring articles
on finance, industry, investing and marketing topics. Their motto is
‘The capitalist tool’ and is known for it’s listings e.g The World's
Billionaires. Read more on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes
It’s the basic title of the magazine printed in a special font that makes one
overlook rest of the text and give it the first sight as this itself is the name of
the magazine so is also placed right at the top in a bold white format so it
does not seem dull upon the greyscale background. It is a known name so the
audience can easily know the genre of the magazine as well can read the
company’s label even though the letters are covered midway by the main
image coming through but also not completely as the edges can still be seen
so it is readable. Moreover, on the top left there’s the name of country written
at which this special edition of Forbes is based on as elseways it’s an
American magazine.
It is across the top or bottom of the masthead showing the the list of items
featuring the magazine conveying that it has interesting stories in order to
make the audience choose it as the main issue being discussed is mentiones
here above the masthead so one is more likely to read it while seeing the
masthead, this way the reader can right away know about the main content of
the magazine.
This is the basic image spreading over the
magazine cover which speaks for the genre
and notion of the magazine as here
considering the formal attire of the model, the
audience can surely tell that it’s work or
business related and that’s exactly the purpose
of a coverpage picture. Also the suit worn is in
the blue shade whereas could have been gray
but that would merge with the background
hence wouldn’t stand out so the colour is
chosen accordingly.
This is the stamp like or in a sticker form graphic outlining a special topic which
is the spotlight of the magazine and is often in round shape like so,done to
cause distraction to gain attraction.
This is written in the largest text after the masthead so the readers go straightly
towards it after reading the masthead as it is also meant to display the conception
and genre of the magazine as here it states in bold letter ‘development’ clearly
expressing it’s reference to the business and economy.
They are there to tell the stories in the magazine but the
font is smaller so it does not make the audience
overlook the main coverline as shown here are three
columns of the magazine on the side as an extract of the
content along with another article under the main
coverline. As with the other text, these are also there to
portray about the material that can be found inside the
magazine.
These all three are there to conclude the obvious date of the
magazine and so the viewer can find out more about it as in
the price is the foremost thing to know thus a barcode is
there for all the numerical data alongside the date of
publishing here is also mentioned and the site address is
there to assist the audience if they will to explore more or if
there are any queries or contact info etc is needed. Though
the barcode is more likely to be on the corners but the date
and website can be spreaded over anywhere is minimized
fonts just enough to the extent of being seen.
