LSCNEWSREPORT
Now everyone wants to look
like an athlete we see on our TV.
Sports athletes like Usain Bolt,
Louis Smith, and Jessica Ennis. But
people can’t resist the temptations
by fast foods restaurant like Nan-
dos, KFC and also sweets and fizzy
drinks.
1. Don’t skip breakfast. I know
everybody has here this before
but it’s true. Breakfast is the most
important meal of the day. If you’re
not a heavy eater don’t worry you
can have a glass of orange juice
than either have toast or a boiled
egg.
2. Stay hydrated. It’s very easy to
over eat when dehydrated.When
your training through the week
don’t just drink water when you
do a work out. Have a bottle water
throughout the day to keep your
body hydrated.
3. Cut out the junk food. The best
athletes fuel their body with the
best food. Fast, fried food is bad
for your health as well as alcoholic
drinks. Start eating food like fruits
and vegetables, meats like lean beef,
chicken breast and lame. Nuts,
Seeds and Peanuts, fish and grains.
4. Eat iron-rich foods.This is espe-
cially for the women because most
women are lacking iron. Foods like
dark leafy green foods, red meat,
and oatmeal can help with iron
deficiency.Also taking iron supple-
ment can help boost your levels.
5. Make a plan. Plan out what you
eat for the day. Prepare your meals
for the week beginning on a Sun-
day. So this way you’ll have your
meals ready and you can spend
time during the week on more
important things.
6. Don’t restrict yourself.What
most people think about getting
slim is to cut down on calories.Try
again.This is a common mistake
that so many people make.
It’s true.To lose weight you want
less calories coming in than going
out but badly limiting your calories
can backfire.Your body will have a
hard time to hold onto every calo-
rie because you’re eating schedule
is so spare. Be sure to eat on a
regular schedule.
7. Don’t count out carbs. If you are
a long distances or any endurance
event, then carbs are the fuel that
you need for peak performance.
The night is the best time to re-
plenish your carb intake instead of
the day or before a run.
The best way to get a correct
amount of carbs without overload-
ing is to replace a small protein or
vegetable at dinner with some sort
of carb-rich food.
8. Eat to recover. What you eat
after a workout is just as impor-
tant as what you eat before. Here’s
a great source of both protein and
carbs is chocolate milk. Drinking
chocolate milk after a workout
will help reduce muscle soreness
and fatigue. It will also help with
recovery speed. If you can’t con-
sume chocolate milk right after a
workout, be sure to do it within 20
minutes after you work out.
Other options are Protein shakes,
low fate cheese or a small sand-
wich with an egg or lean meat.
9. Eat right. Eating right for an
athlete means eating whole foods.
Athletes have a balance diet loaded
with fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole
grains. Protein and more.
Next time you go to a supermar-
ket or your local shop try stocking
up on these ingredient and try to
cut down on the anything artificial
and keep working out regularly
then soon you will have a body like
an athlete.

“It’s an
incredible feeling.We’ve been fighting
for so long to get to the World Cup.
We are very much looking forward to
it. It’s not often I score any
hat-trick so of course it is
incredible.”
After a goalless first leg in Denmark, Ire-
land made the perfect start by scoring a
fantastic goal just after five minutes. The
goal scorer came from defender Shane
Duffy with an incredible leap into the air
as he nodded in his second international
goal to take the lead and make it 1-0.
This goal came from a set piece which

It was very unprofessional from here on

L
eyton ladies were defeated at home
in a high intensity, entertaining
match against the mighty Barnet on
the 16th December 2017.
The game did not start well for
Leyton as they conceded easy points
right from the beginning making a lot of
unforced errors as they were unsettled
quickly.
LSC did gradually start picking up
points and smoothly got back into the
game levelling it at 10-10 before switch-
ing sides. Although LSC now had all
the momentum, they found themselves
in the same situation as before as they
started to give away a lot of points really
early in the second half before getting
back into the groove picking up points
again.
Ultimately Barnet’s quick start to
the game helped them pick up the win
which during the course of the game
was deserved. Leyton Ladies really need
to improve on starting the game quickly
if they want to compete at the top level
because they have the talent but need
to start quicker because that’s cost
them a few wins this season.
After the game, a disappointed
Jessica, 18, who studies Physical
education had this to say,“I feel that
we did well but ultimately what cost us
was our individual errors that lead to
their points, which is very disappointing.
But hey, in the future moving forward we
can improve upon this and ensure we
are mentally and physically prepared, and
then we will be ready to start building
consecutive wins.”
After the match although it was dis-
appointing it was all smiles for the team
photo as they look to the future and not
the past.
LSC have a few tough games next
at home and away and will be training
hard so that they don’t make the same
mistakes again.

After the game she said,“I try my

has the best chances of winning.”
Amy Turle, team coach, was diss-
apointed at the end of the match but
praised the effort of the girls as they
fought to the very end. She said,“Overall
it was dissapointed the girls lost but I
can’t fault the effort as they tried there
hardest till the very end. They gave it
there all but they just came up against a
better skilled and physical team that had
hungrier players than us which ultimately
helped them pick up points here and
now to win the game.We just have to

Brilliant Brazil Wins Gold
Brazil beat Italy 3-0 at home in the final to win olymic gold
medal after being defeated twice in the final previously.

razil finally overcame the odds,
having lost two previousVolleyball
World Cup finals, to achieve their
goal of being World Champions.
To win the win the Olympic gold
medal at home and ruleing out any
shock victory in there yard. They won
the game by 3-0 comfortably and made
ammends to there loss against russia 4
years earlier and all you could see on
the faces of the briazillian was joy and
relief. They have waited not 4 years but
8 years as they lost in two finals back
to back and they finally achieved goal.
The captain said at the end of the game,
“ This is the proudest moment for me to
be a brazillian, winning the gold medal is
an execeptional thing to do and we just
done it. I won this medal not only for
myself but for my country, my family and
most importantly, my team.We have jjust
become the best in the world and that in
itself is a massive achievemement. Now
its time to celebrate,
The Brazillian coach was over the moon
and was full of joy and had this to say,
“ This is what i have been dreaming of
ever since I became coach and
i now say we finally became
coach of the national team.
To win the world champi-
onships it meas you are the
best in the world and that
what we are now. I can tell you we have
worked extremely hard to get to this,
training hard every day, putting extra
hours into playing volleyball and being
extra discipline. This is only the start of
our dominance and i can assure you we
will try our hardest to make a legacy for
this team dominating and dominating in
the next few years. In the match Brazil
came out of the blocks quickly earning
the first few points.Wants they got into
there strive there was no stopping them,
they dominated each half and at times
you would not even believe it was a final.
You coulld tell from the first minute
they were out for revenge after there
dissapointing previous two finals where
they were defeated and they were never
going to make it 3 in arow. Brazil did
not get off to the greatest of starts in
the competiton as they were defeated
“CHAMPIONS,
CHAMPIONS, OLE,
OLE, OLE, OLE”
in there first game but ever since then
they turned it around rolling over any
and every team that came across them.
They are full of talents and incredible to
watch and they are no doubt a threat for
the future of mens volleyball. If they fail
to keep there squad together it is going
to be extremely hard for them to hold
on to the world championships as the
others will be looking to bounce back at

Tony Bellew and David Haye Post-
poned.
In the first fight between the pair Bellew
wiped the floor with Haye and made him
look like a fool in front of his own fans.
Haye won the first couple of rounds but
from then on it was all Bellew. Haye was
wobbling and the fight should have been
stopped because it was clear he couldn’t
carry on and then finally the white towel
was thrown in and Bellew was declared
the winner. Bellew was the better boxer
and out boxed Haye in every aspect of
the fight from round 1 to round 12.
David Haye and Bellew arranged for a
rematch at the same venue at the O2 are-
na where Haye hoped to get his revenge
for being made a fool of in front of his
fans in his own back yard. However the
fight is now postponed due to a serious
injury which Haye has suffered. He picked
up a serious blow during a training clash
which he took part in he had injured his
bicep. This forced him to pull out of the
showdown. It was then revealed all over
social media that Haye had sustained
an injury while training which is costing
him his chance of revenge against Bellew.
Everyone was deflated as they were all
looking forward for the rematch, as the
former world heavyweight champion had
to pull out of his rematch with Bellew.
The fight was scheduled for the 17th
December and is now being touted for
a rescheduled date in March or May of
next year as Haye vowed to return to the
ring. But there is no guarantee that the re-
match will happen.Haye has a long history
with fight
withdrawals. He pulled out of two
scheduled dates to fight Tyson Fury
several years ago.
David Haye posted a video on social
media which showed him working out de-
spite having his arm in a sling, and he also
provided an update on his fitness.
“I am sure you are already aware that my
much-
anticipated rematch with Tony Bellew has
been
postponed,” said Haye.

Tyson Fury is coming back.
Both former heavyweight world champi-
on Fury and his cousin, Hughie Fury, were
charged on the 24th of June 2016 with
the “presence of a prohibited substance”
following drugs tests.Tyson Fury is now
29 and has not fought since November
2015 when he outpointed Wladimir
Klitschko for the WBA, IBF and WBO
belts.
He has resumed training and plans to
make a return in spring 2018.Tyosn Fury
wants to fight Anthony Joshua with him
being number one on his hit list, however
it is quite clear that he will need a couple
of fights before he is ready for the fight
with Anthony Joshua Even though Fury’s
team may disagree this is the cold truth.
An
Anthony Joshua vs.Tyson Fury fight
would be huge to all boxing fans and if
Fury can get a couple of wins before tak-
ing him on a will gather a large audience.A
recent poll indicated that the fight some
fans want to see when Tyson Fury returns
to the ring is Fury vs. Shannon Briggs.
Briggs is a 45-year-old who has twice
been suspended for positive tests and
since losing toVitali Klitschko in 2010 has
not fought anyone. In-addition to all of
this Tyson Fury has called out Tony Bellew
after it was announced that Bellew’s fight
with David Haye would be postponed.
He did this In a video on Instagram, Fury
asserted “I’ll be ready, willing and waiting
to fight Tony Bellew May 5th, O2 Arena
London.” Fury continued “If you want to
fight a real man, the best heavyweight in
the world; the heavyweight that beat
everyone else, the heavyweight that has
never lost a fight, the real heavyweight
champion of the world, I am ready and
waiting.
On an episode of Soccer AM on the
25th of November Bellew admitted that
he wanted to fight Fury.Tyson Fury re-
plied to Bellew on Twitter saying “I’m here
bellend @TonyBellew I’m waiting on and
outcome of the Ukad situation then I’m
ready to move! To batter you!”
Anthony Joushua wants to be the
best.
There are three undefeated world
heavyweight champions,Anthony
Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Joseph
Parker and there is a clear demand
from boxing fans to see an undisput-
ed
champion, it ought to be a simple
process to create a frenzy of huge
fights in 2018.
And now World heavyweight cham-
pion Anthony Joushua has travelled
to Dubai in order to take his training
to the next level as he looks to unify
the heavyweight division in 2018.
Just like other famous athletes and
sportsmanship’s Joshua has followed
in the footsteps ofTiger Woods,
Rory McIlroy and Roger Federer,
showcasing his skills on top of the
Burj Al Arab in Dubai, where there is
a very hot climate and high altitude
so it tests your fitness levels, Joshua
worked out in the world’s highest
boxing ring sparing and getting
stronger and posting it on his social
media pages for the world to see.
Anthony Joshua has been called out
by fellow world champions Deon-
tay Wilder and Joseph Parker after
beating CarlosTakam at the Prin-
cipality Stadium in Cardiff, which
is why he is putting in the intense
training to triumph in 2018 and
show the world that he is the best
heavyweight boxer.
It is looking like Anthony Joshua will be
taking on Joseph Parker as Negotiations
for the world title fight with Parker could
be nearing completion, with the British
champion’s promoter Eddie Hearn hoping
to agree a deal within the next two weeks
for the bout to take place in March or
April.
Hearn is edging closer to a deal for
Joshua to put his WBA ‘super’ and IBF
belts at stake against WBO champion
Joseph Parker, in one of the most signif-
icant heavyweight fights in recent years.
Joshua issued a “let me at him” message
as promoter Eddie Hearn closes to within
“single digits” of agreeing a unification
clash with Parker.
However Joshua has revealed that he
sees Tyson Fury as his most dangerous
heavyweight foe.

he former wimbledon champion
Jana Novotna has died at the age of
49 after battling with cancer. It was
said to be that Novotna had been battling
cancer for some time now. Novotna had
passed away on the 19 of november by
her friends and family who had been next
to her bedside.
This is a very heartbreaking situation
as she was regarded as one of the nicest
women tennis players around who had
a warm heart for everyone. The Czech
Republic international faced many losses
in life after losing in the 1993 and 1997
wimbledon finals.
However, she went on to win the
grand slam in 1998 after defeating Nath-
alie Tauziat which was a impressive win
the former champion.The following year
Jana retired after the tour in 1999. She
had an amazing career in tennis and was
known for her emotional feelings towards
the sport. Novotna had a good overall
career and achieved a lot in terms in titles
and capturing the hearts of fans for her
amazing dedication, and work.
After 14 years in the sport Jana
Novotna managed to secure 100 titles
which is incredible when you think about
the time that she managed to accomplish
that in. She secured 24 titles in singles and
76 in doubles.“Jana was an inspiration
both on and off court to anyone who had
the opportunity to know her,” said WTA
chief executive Steve Simon.“Her star
will always shine brightly in the history
of the WTA. Our condolences and our
thoughts are with Jana’s family.” Everyone
who knew her had only good things to
say about her rather than bad as she was
sweet, kind and helpful. Novotna was well
known for her style of play during her
tennis days. Her serving and volley game
was always on points and won her many
titles just by themselves. She would just
finish off her opponent by the use of her
serve. Opponents of her would’ve had to
have good energy and stamina in order
to challenge the Czech Republic interna-
tional. Furthermore, she achieved a career
high singles ranking of two.
In addition to her only singles Grand
Slam win at Wimbledon, she claimed 12
Grand Slam doubles titles and four in
mixed doubles. In 2005, she was induct-
ed into the Tennis Hall of fame for her
outstanding work on the tennis court
throughout the years which couldn’t have
gone unrecognisable. Jana Novotna was
a really emotional person and reacted
badly to losses which she took hard upon
herself. After the 1993 final she got really
emotional and couldn’t handle her feelings
towards the result. However, she gave an
interview that best described her feelings
during that exact moment. Here she is
speaking about her 1993 final;“The next
day, even though I was sad and disap-
pointed, I opened the newspaper and my
Former Czech Republic
Tennis Star Dies Aged 49
picture with the Duchess of Kent was on
the front pages,” she said.
“For a moment, it felt like I was the
winner and that was a great feeling. I still
have the newspapers, they’re beautiful
pictures and I think it showed the human
side of professional tennis, which most of
the people came to remember instead of
me losing.”
She added:“It wouldn’t sound great to
say the 1993 final was the one I was
most proud of because I lost the match
when I was ahead.
“But it meant so much for me and maybe
it made me a better player, a better per-
son and maybe that match helped me to
accomplish a lot more in my career.
“If I could do it again I would - all of it
- except I would win Wimbledon three
times this time around.” of course theses
words describe her how she was feeling
at the time and only she knows it so
credits to her for speaking out about it.

ASHES: ENGLAND’S VINCE
MAKES 83 AGAINST AUSTRALIA
CRICKET
YOUNGSTER VINCE HAS PRODUCED AN UNFORGETTABLE DEBUT FOR ENGLAND. MAKING 83
RUNS FOR THE LIONS AGAINST THE AUSSIES
A
sunny, hot and intense after-
noon for the first ashes test in
Brisbane.Two teams England
and Australia both started the first
day of ashes with an exciting game.
Both teams prepared and excited for
the match, a chance to get into the
vibe of the ashes.
Young debutant JamesVince has been
heavily involved in his first ashes test match,
scoring 83 against the Australians. Making a
name for himself in the England team.Vince
added 125 for the second wicket with Mark
Stoneman.
Vince was run out by Nathan Lyon’s
superb direct hit, in between Pat Cummins
bowling Stoneman for 53 and trapping Cap-
tain Joe Root Lbw for 15. England closed
on 196-4, with Moeen Ali and Dawid Malan
putting their name on the scoresheet.A
decent result for the Ashes cup holders.
“Australians know who we are now”-
Vince
The tourists battled after winning the
toss and losing Alastair Cook in the third
over. Perhaps determined not to recon-
struct that 5-0 defeat to Australia a few
years ago.
On a slow pitch,Vince and Stoneman-
both who were playing their first ashes
test match- were kept in check by a home
attack that rarely offered anything loose.
If the surface doesn’t harden up in the
next few days,Australia could get the best
batting condition.
Australia’s proud record at the Gabba-
they are unbeaten since 1988- and an often
hostile crowd has led to the 42,000-capacity
ground being nicknamed ‘the Gabbatoir’
However, England did not have to
deal with Brisbane at is most raucous on
Thursday.
There was a massive roar when Cook
was dismissed, but not until late in the day
did the home fans have a real reason to get
behind their team.
England’s Lyon was not only excellent
with the ball but in the field he produced
the most decisive moment of the day.
Vince averaged only 19 runs when he
played 7 tests in 2016, so was something
of a surprise selection when called for this
tour to fill England’s #3 position.
While Cook and Root- the two most
established members of England’s batting
line up- managed 17 runs between them,
Vince and Stoneman showed composure on
their Ashes debuts.
Arriving with England 2-1, 26 year old
Vince looked much more assured than in
his previous attempt at Test Cricket, show-
ing the good judgement that has previously
eluded him.
Whenever Australia’s pace bowlers
went too full, he played his trademark
drives, scoring heavily through the covers
and point.
When England’s Cook was dismissed
the crowd roared in frustration, disappoint-
ed at the decision. However, the support-
ers didn’t know they were in for a great
surprise as the day went on.
AfterVince registered his maiden
half-century, the runs dried up, particularly
against Lyon.
Vince was dropped by recalled Australia
wicketkeeper Tim Paine on 68 when Lyon
found the outside edge.
Stoneman has been England’s form bats-
man of the tour, passing 50 in each of his
previous four innings and registering their
first century in the final warm-up game last
week.
Here the 30-year-old left-hander
showed patience and concentration, leaving
well outside off stump and mainly scoring
on the leg side.
His second-wicket partnership with
Vince was bigger than anything England
managed on their previous Ashes tour.
Although Stoneman accumulated slowly
- his half-century came from 150 balls - he
looked solid and it was a surprise when
Cummins nipped one between bat and pad
to take the top of the stumps.

fter ongoing reports over the past
couple of months, Mercedes have
decided to offer their superstar
Lewis Hamilton a new contract which is
thought to be around $210 million equiv-
alent to £160 million. Of course that is a
lot of money, but Mercedes are thinking
about their future as a brand and they
want Hamilton to be part of that upcom-
ing time.
Lewis Hamilton has had many offers
from other companies, but has been loyal
to Mercedes ever since his move from
Mclaren. He has a won four world titles
in his career so far and aims to increase
that with Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton will
be in Abu Dhabi over the coming weeks
to discuss his demands and new contract
that is on display with the Mercedes boss-
es.The 32 year old is certain to sign the
new deal which is expected to be a three
year contract which will enable him to be
paid the same as the current highest wage
bill which is owned by Ferrari’s Sebastian
Vettel who has been at the top of the
highest wage bill in Formula one for the
past 2 years.
Lewis Hamilton’s current contract
is finishing up at the end of 2018 and so
Mercedes want to tie him down for new
contract in order for him to block any
interest from other sponsors/companies.
Mercedes feel like now is the best time
for him to sign and seal that contract so
that he can focus on his racing career for
the Mercedes rather than having other
things on his mind, e.g contracts. Mer-
cedes are determined to keep their prize
asset and will want to ward him off from
joining rivals such as Ferrari or Red Bulls
who are two very good and upcoming
teams that are bringing young talent to
ensure that they are prizefighters for their
beloved fans.The contract is reported
to be worth around $192,000 which is
around £145,000 a day in his earnings.
On the 20th of november 2017, Lewis
Hamilton was given a guard of honour for
his fabulous success in Formula one and
his recent victory Mexico grand prix to
secure his fourth world title.
After being knighted Lewis Hamil-
ton spoke to the press to summarise his
mixed emotions about the year so far
in which many things have happened for
the Brit.“It is something that I will never
forget, turning up at the front gate of
the factory and seeing everyone out on
the street to welcome me — I’m blown

away,” Hamilton said.“This has been an
incredible year, it’s been an incredible
journey together.There’s a huge amount
of respect and appreciation I have for
everyone.“I’ve been in the sport for a
long time now, but to see the work ethic
in Brixworth and Brackley really inspires
me.“This is the best championship year,
because we’ve been fighting another team
and because we’ve had the difficulties and
challenges we’ve had — that just makes it
much greater.”

n the 29th of october, Great
Britain’s Lewis Hamilton managed
to secure his fourth world title
at the Mexican Grand Prix.Although, fin-
ishing in ninth place after a collision with
fellow rival SebastianVettel he managed to
overcome that situation and bag his fourth
trophy.
Over past couple of years Lewis
Hamilton has been showing huge deter-
mination and courage to make it into the
elite group of drivers who have won 4 or
more world titles.Thankfully that has paid
off with hard work and plenty of practise
from the Brit. However, Germany’s Mi-
chael Schumacher still holds the records
for the number of race wins (91) and
titles (7). Mr Schumacher retired at the
Lewis Hamilton wins fourth
world title at the Mexican
Grand Prix
By Onder Aslan age of 38 and Lewis Hamilton is now 32
years old can he break the record for the
number of titles won. He has had already
broke the record for the number of pole
positions which is a grand total of 72.That
is quite impressive when you think about
it.
On the other hand, when you com-
pare race wins Lewis Hamilton (62) is not
that far off from Michael Schumacher’s
91.This is something that’s getting people
talking about in terms of whether Lewis
Hamilton has a chance or not. There are
even rumours going around that he is
to conquer that by 2020 to become the
greatest formula one driver of all time.
Well it does seem so as Schumacher was
the same age as Hamilton (32) when he
won his fourth world title which does
make it realistic for Mr Hamilton to do
the impossible and achieve success at the
highest possible level in terms of world
titles won.
It has been an impressive year for
Lewis Hamilton who finished off the year
with his fourth title and managed to be
knighted by the Queen. From my per-
sonal view I think the next step needed
for Hamilton is to possibly try and break
Schumnachers records and win another
world title. After that I would expect him
to go into management or even carry on
in the track although that is very unlikely
at the age that he is now( 32) that he will
carry on, but who knows, it’s his body and
he’s the only one who knows if he can
carry on.

Now I’m sure that everybody has
heard of the WWE. I’m sure when
you were younger you use to watch
it.Watching wrestlers like The Rock,
Stone Cold, Undertaker, Shawn Mi-
chael doing their thing in the squared
circle.
But the question I’m going to ask you
is. Is Pro-Wrestling a real sport?
Well I’m going to tell you that it is
a real sport. I can honestly say that
wrestling is choreographed not FAKE
choreographed. It’s like a physical
theatre every time there are wres-
tlers are in the ring they tell a story.
Like David vs Goliath. Also, when a
performer kicked in the gut, the man
kicking pulls back a bit, but still kicks
him, just where it doesn’t hurt
that much.
Also, the winner is determined
before the match.This can be
used to present a wrestler as
an unstoppable force like when
Goldberg went on his undefeat-
ed streak in WCW or a recent
one WWE women’s wrestler
Asuka has the longest undefeat-
ed streak in the company’s history.
Also, pro wrestlers are on the road
300 plus days a year, so they rarely see
their family and they probably sleep
in their or a hotel room. Often in the
gym to stay at peak condition because
if you get gassed during a match you
can’t take a break because it shows
the fans and management that you
can’t be trusted to hold a title or have
a higher spot in the card.
Here is John Cena workout routine
and what he eats on a day to day bas-
es from muscle and fitness magazine.
John Cena has seven meals a day this
is what he eats.
His first meal Oatmeal with apple-
sauce and raisins, 2 whole eggs and
6 egg whites. Second is a Protein bar.
For his third meal he eats Brown
rice with vegetables, and 2 chicken
breasts. Number four is a whole
wheat pita bread with tuna. Number
five is Banana and a whey protein
shake. His sixth meal is Pasta or
brown rice, vegetables, salad with
chicken or fish and the last meal is
Low fat cottage cheese along with a
casein protein shake.
When he works out he does five day
a week. On day one Legs and Calves,
on the second day he does Chest.
On day three he work on his arms.
On day four he does his shoulders
and on the final day he works
on his back. Here are some
of the sets and reps he does.

Also like many other sports pro
wrestling do have their career
ending injuries and even deaths in the
ring. Some people say what wrestlers
put their bodies through in the ring is
sometimes tantamount to getting into a
car wreck. For example
Darren Drozdov a former American
football player and a former pro wres-
tler who wrestled for the WWE from
1998-1999. He was supposed to take a
routine power bomb but the wrestler
preforming the move D-Lo Brown slip
on a wet spot that was in the ring and
it cause Drozdov to fall on his onto his
head and fracture two discs in his neck.
He is now paralysed but doesn’t hold
any hostility towards D-lo Brown.
Here is a picture of Droz before and after
his career ending injury
Here is a picture of the Japanese
wreslter called Asuka who has the
longest
undefeated steak in WWE history and
the longest NXT womens title regin
with 510 days as champion the longest
in the modern WWE.

  • 3. Now everyone wants to look like an athlete we see on our TV. Sports athletes like Usain Bolt, Louis Smith, and Jessica Ennis. But people can’t resist the temptations by fast foods restaurant like Nan- dos, KFC and also sweets and fizzy drinks. 1. Don’t skip breakfast. I know everybody has here this before but it’s true. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you’re not a heavy eater don’t worry you can have a glass of orange juice than either have toast or a boiled egg. 2. Stay hydrated. It’s very easy to over eat when dehydrated. When your training through the week don’t just drink water when you do a work out. Have a bottle water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated. 3. Cut out the junk food. The best athletes fuel their body with the best food. Fast, fried food is bad for your health as well as alcoholic drinks. Start eating food like fruits and vegetables, meats like lean beef, chicken breast and lame. Nuts, Seeds and Peanuts, fish and grains. 4. Eat iron-rich foods. This is espe- cially for the women because most women are lacking iron. Foods like dark leafy green foods, red meat, and oatmeal can help with iron deficiency. Also taking iron supple- ment can help boost your levels. 5. Make a plan. Plan out what you eat for the day. Prepare your meals for the week beginning on a Sun- day. So this way you’ll have your meals ready and you can spend time during the week on more important things. 6. Don’t restrict yourself. What most people think about getting slim is to cut down on calories.Try again. This is a common mistake that so many people make. It’s true.To lose weight you want less calories coming in than going out but badly limiting your calories can backfire.Your body will have a hard time to hold onto every calo- rie because you’re eating schedule is so spare. Be sure to eat on a regular schedule. 7. Don’t count out carbs. If you are a long distances or any endurance event, then carbs are the fuel that you need for peak performance. The night is the best time to re- plenish your carb intake instead of the day or before a run. The best way to get a correct amount of carbs without overload- ing is to replace a small protein or vegetable at dinner with some sort of carb-rich food. 8. Eat to recover. What you eat after a workout is just as impor- tant as what you eat before. Here’s a great source of both protein and carbs is chocolate milk. Drinking chocolate milk after a workout will help reduce muscle soreness and fatigue. It will also help with recovery speed. If you can’t con- sume chocolate milk right after a workout, be sure to do it within 20 minutes after you work out. Other options are Protein shakes, low fate cheese or a small sand- wich with an egg or lean meat. 9. Eat right. Eating right for an athlete means eating whole foods. Athletes have a balance diet loaded with fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains. Protein and more. Next time you go to a supermar- ket or your local shop try stocking up on these ingredient and try to cut down on the anything artificial and keep working out regularly then soon you will have a body like an athlete. This is the first time in which Sweden have qualified since 2006, and without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sweden has qualified into the most coveted tournament in sports history and It happened after two intense, agitated games, that saw Sweden eke out a 1-0 aggregate win against Italy with an excellent goal from the substitute Jakob Johansson a defen- sive midfielder for AEK Athens. He is a box-to-box midfielder, with his stand-out features being his exceptional physique, excellent passing, build-up play and mark- ing. He got Sweden the win and the fans where over the moon. Sweden was a clear underdog in the play-off match however they did not let that get to them and instead they pulled up their socks and managed to es- cape with a win despite the fact that Italy completely dominated the game, Sweden managed to pull out a win to qualify for 2 December 2017 the other hand is left begrudging an apathetic performance that means it will miss out on its first World Cup since 1958. There was booing during Sweden’s national anthem and booing in the har- ried last-second chaos inside their own goal area. The Republic of Ireland have failed to reach the 2018 World Cup as Denmark smashed them 5-1 on the 14th November 2017 in Dublin at the Aviva Stadium, Irelands own territory. In addi- tion to this it was su- per play- er Christian Eriksen’s hat-trick that gave Denmark an emphat- ic victory in the play-off to reach Russia 2018.After the game hat-trick scorer Eriksen was buzzing with so much joy and he said to the media: “It’s an incredible feeling. We’ve been fighting for so long to get to the World Cup. We are very much looking forward to it. It’s not often I score any hat-trick so of course it is incredible.” After a goalless first leg in Denmark, Ire- land made the perfect start by scoring a fantastic goal just after five minutes. The goal scorer came from defender Shane Duffy with an incredible leap into the air as he nodded in his second international goal to take the lead and make it 1-0. This goal came from a set piece which was taken from the halfway line and the visitors Denmark failed to clear it with Denmark thump Ireland 5-1. some inept defending and poor marking. Ireland could have gone further ahead in the lead but striker daryl murphy smashed the ball into the side netting with a poor shot. Soon after this winger James McClean drove the ball wide following a slick team move from The Boys in Green. It was very unprofessional from here on out from Ireland’s point of view as they are 1-0 up at home, so they should be looking on to win the match as expected by the fans, but this was not the case at all, not one slightest bit. • 7. L eyton ladies were defeated at home in a high intensity, entertaining match against the mighty Barnet on the 16th December 2017. The game did not start well for Leyton as they conceded easy points right from the beginning making a lot of unforced errors as they were unsettled quickly. LSC did gradually start picking up points and smoothly got back into the game levelling it at 10-10 before switch- ing sides. Although LSC now had all the momentum, they found themselves in the same situation as before as they started to give away a lot of points really early in the second half before getting back into the groove picking up points again. Ultimately Barnet’s quick start to the game helped them pick up the win which during the course of the game was deserved. Leyton Ladies really need to improve on starting the game quickly if they want to compete at the top level because they have the talent but need to start quicker because that’s cost them a few wins this season. After the game, a disappointed Jessica, 18, who studies Physical education had this to say,“I feel that we did well but ultimately what cost us was our individual errors that lead to their points, which is very disappointing. But hey, in the future moving forward we can improve upon this and ensure we are mentally and physically prepared, and then we will be ready to start building consecutive wins.” After the match although it was dis- appointing it was all smiles for the team photo as they look to the future and not the past. LSC have a few tough games next at home and away and will be training hard so that they don’t make the same mistakes again. She said,“Overall it was dissapointed the girls lost but I can’t fault the effort as they tried there hardest till the very end. They gave it there all but they just came up against a better skilled and physical team that had hungrier players than us which ultimately helped them pick up points here and now to win the game.We just have to bounce back from this defeat and look foward to our next games.” VOLLEYBALL PG 6

  • 9. Tony Bellew and David Haye Post- poned. In the first fight between the pair Bellew wiped the floor with Haye and made him look like a fool in front of his own fans. Haye won the first couple of rounds but from then on it was all Bellew. Haye was wobbling and the fight should have been stopped because it was clear he couldn’t carry on and then finally the white towel was thrown in and Bellew was declared the winner. Bellew was the better boxer and out boxed Haye in every aspect of the fight from round 1 to round 12. David Haye and Bellew arranged for a rematch at the same venue at the O2 are- na where Haye hoped to get his revenge for being made a fool of in front of his fans in his own back yard. However the fight is now postponed due to a serious injury which Haye has suffered. He picked up a serious blow during a training clash which he took part in he had injured his bicep. This forced him to pull out of the showdown. It was then revealed all over social media that Haye had sustained an injury while training which is costing him his chance of revenge against Bellew. Everyone was deflated as they were all looking forward for the rematch, as the former world heavyweight champion had to pull out of his rematch with Bellew. The fight was scheduled for the 17th December and is now being touted for a rescheduled date in March or May of next year as Haye vowed to return to the ring. But there is no guarantee that the re- match will happen.Haye has a long history with fight withdrawals. He pulled out of two scheduled dates to fight Tyson Fury several years ago. David Haye posted a video on social media which showed him working out de- spite having his arm in a sling, and he also provided an update on his fitness. “I am sure you are already aware that my much- anticipated rematch with Tony Bellew has been postponed,” said Haye. 4 December 2017 Tyson Fury is coming back. Both former heavyweight world champi- on Fury and his cousin, Hughie Fury, were charged on the 24th of June 2016 with the “presence of a prohibited substance” following drugs tests.Tyson Fury is now 29 and has not fought since November 2015 when he outpointed Wladimir Klitschko for the WBA, IBF and WBO belts. He has resumed training and plans to make a return in spring 2018.Tyosn Fury wants to fight Anthony Joshua with him being number one on his hit list, however it is quite clear that he will need a couple of fights before he is ready for the fight with Anthony Joshua Even though Fury’s team may disagree this is the cold truth. An Anthony Joshua vs.Tyson Fury fight would be huge to all boxing fans and if Fury can get a couple of wins before tak- ing him on a will gather a large audience.A recent poll indicated that the fight some fans want to see when Tyson Fury returns to the ring is Fury vs. Shannon Briggs. Briggs is a 45-year-old who has twice been suspended for positive tests and since losing toVitali Klitschko in 2010 has not fought anyone. In-addition to all of this Tyson Fury has called out Tony Bellew after it was announced that Bellew’s fight with David Haye would be postponed. He did this In a video on Instagram, Fury asserted “I’ll be ready, willing and waiting to fight Tony Bellew May 5th, O2 Arena London.” Fury continued “If you want to fight a real man, the best heavyweight in the world; the heavyweight that beat everyone else, the heavyweight that has never lost a fight, the real heavyweight champion of the world, I am ready and waiting. On an episode of Soccer AM on the 25th of November Bellew admitted that he wanted to fight Fury.Tyson Fury re- plied to Bellew on Twitter saying “I’m here bellend @TonyBellew I’m waiting on and outcome of the Ukad situation then I’m ready to move! To batter you!” Anthony Joushua wants to be the best. There are three undefeated world heavyweight champions,Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker and there is a clear demand from boxing fans to see an undisput- ed champion, it ought to be a simple process to create a frenzy of huge fights in 2018. And now World heavyweight cham- pion Anthony Joushua has travelled to Dubai in order to take his training to the next level as he looks to unify the heavyweight division in 2018. Just like other famous athletes and sportsmanship’s Joshua has followed in the footsteps ofTiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Roger Federer, showcasing his skills on top of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, where there is a very hot climate and high altitude so it tests your fitness levels, Joshua worked out in the world’s highest boxing ring sparing and getting stronger and posting it on his social media pages for the world to see. Anthony Joshua has been called out by fellow world champions Deon- tay Wilder and Joseph Parker after beating CarlosTakam at the Prin- cipality Stadium in Cardiff, which is why he is putting in the intense training to triumph in 2018 and show the world that he is the best heavyweight boxer. It is looking like Anthony Joshua will be taking on Joseph Parker as Negotiations for the world title fight with Parker could be nearing completion, with the British champion’s promoter Eddie Hearn hoping to agree a deal within the next two weeks for the bout to take place in March or April. Hearn is edging closer to a deal for Joshua to put his WBA ‘super’ and IBF belts at stake against WBO champion Joseph Parker, in one of the most signif- icant heavyweight fights in recent years. Joshua issued a “let me at him” message as promoter Eddie Hearn closes to within “single digits” of agreeing a unification clash with Parker. However Joshua has revealed that he sees Tyson Fury as his most dangerous heavyweight foe. Tony Bellew and David Haye postponed. PG 8

However, she went on to win the grand slam in 1998 after defeating Nath- alie Tauziat which was a impressive win the former champion. The following year Jana retired after the tour in 1999. She had an amazing career in tennis and was known for her emotional feelings towards the sport. Novotna had a good overall career and achieved a lot in terms in titles and capturing the hearts of fans for her amazing dedication, and work. After 14 years in the sport Jana Novotna managed to secure 100 titles which is incredible when you think about the time that she managed to accomplish that in. She secured 24 titles in singles and 76 in doubles.“Jana was an inspiration both on and off court to anyone who had the opportunity to know her,” said WTA chief executive Steve Simon.“Her star will always shine brightly in the history of the WTA. Our condolences and our thoughts are with Jana’s family.” Everyone who knew her had only good things to say about her rather than bad as she was sweet, kind and helpful. Novotna was well known for her style of play during her tennis days. Her serving and volley game was always on points and won her many titles just by themselves. She would just finish off her opponent by the use of her serve. Opponents of her would’ve had to have good energy and stamina in order to challenge the Czech Republic interna- tional. Furthermore, she achieved a career high singles ranking of two. In addition to her only singles Grand Slam win at Wimbledon, she claimed 12 Grand Slam doubles titles and four in mixed doubles. In 2005, she was induct- ed into the Tennis Hall of fame for her outstanding work on the tennis court throughout the years which couldn’t have gone unrecognisable. However, she gave an interview that best described her feelings during that exact moment. Here she is speaking about her 1993 final;“The next day, even though I was sad and disap- pointed, I opened the newspaper and my Former Czech Republic Tennis Star Dies Aged 49 picture with the Duchess of Kent was on the front pages,” she said. “For a moment, it felt like I was the winner and that was a great feeling. I still have the newspapers, they’re beautiful pictures and I think it showed the human side of professional tennis, which most of the people came to remember instead of me losing.” She added:“It wouldn’t sound great to say the 1993 final was the one I was most proud of because I lost the match when I was ahead. “But it meant so much for me and maybe it made me a better player, a better per- son and maybe that match helped me to accomplish a lot more in my career. “If I could do it again I would - all of it - except I would win Wimbledon three times this time around.” of course theses words describe her how she was feeling at the time and only she knows it so credits to her for speaking out about it. MAKING 83 RUNS FOR THE LIONS AGAINST THE AUSSIES A sunny, hot and intense after- noon for the first ashes test in Brisbane. Two teams England and Australia both started the first day of ashes with an exciting game. Both teams prepared and excited for the match, a chance to get into the vibe of the ashes. Young debutant JamesVince has been heavily involved in his first ashes test match, scoring 83 against the Australians. Making a name for himself in the England team.Vince added 125 for the second wicket with Mark Stoneman. Vince was run out by Nathan Lyon’s superb direct hit, in between Pat Cummins bowling Stoneman for 53 and trapping Cap- tain Joe Root Lbw for 15. England closed on 196-4, with Moeen Ali and Dawid Malan putting their name on the scoresheet.A decent result for the Ashes cup holders. “Australians know who we are now”- Vince The tourists battled after winning the toss and losing Alastair Cook in the third over. Perhaps determined not to recon- struct that 5-0 defeat to Australia a few years ago. On a slow pitch,Vince and Stoneman- both who were playing their first ashes test match- were kept in check by a home attack that rarely offered anything loose. If the surface doesn’t harden up in the next few days,Australia could get the best batting condition. Australia’s proud record at the Gabba- they are unbeaten since 1988- and an often hostile crowd has led to the 42,000-capacity ground being nicknamed ‘the Gabbatoir’ However, England did not have to deal with Brisbane at is most raucous on Thursday. There was a massive roar when Cook was dismissed, but not until late in the day did the home fans have a real reason to get behind their team. England’s Lyon was not only excellent with the ball but in the field he produced the most decisive moment of the day. Vince averaged only 19 runs when he played 7 tests in 2016, so was something of a surprise selection when called for this tour to fill England’s #3 position. While Cook and Root- the two most established members of England’s batting line up- managed 17 runs between them, Vince and Stoneman showed composure on their Ashes debuts. Arriving with England 2-1, 26 year old Vince looked much more assured than in his previous attempt at Test Cricket, show- ing the good judgement that has previously eluded him. Whenever Australia’s pace bowlers went too full, he played his trademark drives, scoring heavily through the covers and point. When England’s Cook was dismissed the crowd roared in frustration, disappoint- ed at the decision. However, the support- ers didn’t know they were in for a great surprise as the day went on. AfterVince registered his maiden half-century, the runs dried up, particularly against Lyon. Vince was dropped by recalled Australia wicketkeeper Tim Paine on 68 when Lyon found the outside edge. Stoneman has been England’s form bats- man of the tour, passing 50 in each of his previous four innings and registering their first century in the final warm-up game last week. Here the 30-year-old left-hander showed patience and concentration, leaving well outside off stump and mainly scoring on the leg side. His second-wicket partnership with Vince was bigger than anything England managed on their previous Ashes tour. Although Stoneman accumulated slowly - his half-century came from 150 balls - he looked solid and it was a surprise when Cummins nipped one between bat and pad to take the top of the stumps. A fter ongoing reports over the past couple of months, Mercedes have decided to offer their superstar Lewis Hamilton a new contract which is thought to be around $210 million equiv- alent to £160 million. Of course that is a lot of money, but Mercedes are thinking about their future as a brand and they want Hamilton to be part of that upcom- ing time. Lewis Hamilton has had many offers from other companies, but has been loyal to Mercedes ever since his move from Mclaren. He has a won four world titles in his career so far and aims to increase that with Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton will be in Abu Dhabi over the coming weeks to discuss his demands and new contract that is on display with the Mercedes boss- es.The 32 year old is certain to sign the new deal which is expected to be a three year contract which will enable him to be paid the same as the current highest wage bill which is owned by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel who has been at the top of the highest wage bill in Formula one for the past 2 years. Lewis Hamilton’s current contract is finishing up at the end of 2018 and so Mercedes want to tie him down for new contract in order for him to block any interest from other sponsors/companies. Mercedes feel like now is the best time for him to sign and seal that contract so that he can focus on his racing career for the Mercedes rather than having other things on his mind, e.g contracts. Mer- cedes are determined to keep their prize asset and will want to ward him off from joining rivals such as Ferrari or Red Bulls who are two very good and upcoming teams that are bringing young talent to ensure that they are prizefighters for their beloved fans. The contract is reported to be worth around $192,000 which is around £145,000 a day in his earnings. On the 20th of november 2017, Lewis Hamilton was given a guard of honour for his fabulous success in Formula one and his recent victory Mexico grand prix to secure his fourth world title. After being knighted Lewis Hamil- ton spoke to the press to summarise his mixed emotions about the year so far in which many things have happened for the Brit.“It is something that I will never forget, turning up at the front gate of the factory and seeing everyone out on the street to welcome me — I’m blown Luxurious Lewis’s New Earnings Revealed By Onder Aslan Lewis Hamilton looks on with pride and joy after winning his fourth world title. away,” Hamilton said.“This has been an incredible year, it’s been an incredible journey together. There’s a huge amount of respect and appreciation I have for everyone.“I’ve been in the sport for a long time now, but to see the work ethic in Brixworth and Brackley really inspires me.“This is the best championship year, because we’ve been fighting another team and because we’ve had the difficulties and challenges we’ve had — that just makes it much greater.” Formula One PG 14
  • 16. Lewis Hamilton recieves instructions from his coach. O n the 29th of october, Great Britain’s Lewis Hamilton managed to secure his fourth world title at the Mexican Grand Prix.Although, fin- ishing in ninth place after a collision with fellow rival SebastianVettel he managed to overcome that situation and bag his fourth trophy. Over past couple of years Lewis Hamilton has been showing huge deter- mination and courage to make it into the elite group of drivers who have won 4 or more world titles.Thankfully that has paid off with hard work and plenty of practise from the Brit. However, Germany’s Mi- chael Schumacher still holds the records for the number of race wins (91) and titles (7). Mr Schumacher retired at the Lewis Hamilton wins fourth world title at the Mexican Grand Prix By Onder Aslan age of 38 and Lewis Hamilton is now 32 years old can he break the record for the number of titles won. He has had already broke the record for the number of pole positions which is a grand total of 72.That is quite impressive when you think about it. On the other hand, when you com- pare race wins Lewis Hamilton (62) is not that far off from Michael Schumacher’s 91.This is something that’s getting people talking about in terms of whether Lewis Hamilton has a chance or not. There are even rumours going around that he is to conquer that by 2020 to become the greatest formula one driver of all time. Well it does seem so as Schumacher was the same age as Hamilton (32) when he won his fourth world title which does make it realistic for Mr Hamilton to do the impossible and achieve success at the highest possible level in terms of world titles won. It has been an impressive year for Lewis Hamilton who finished off the year with his fourth title and managed to be knighted by the Queen. From my per- sonal view I think the next step needed for Hamilton is to possibly try and break Schumnachers records and win another world title. After that I would expect him to go into management or even carry on in the track although that is very unlikely at the age that he is now( 32) that he will carry on, but who knows, it’s his body and he’s the only one who knows if he can carry on. • 17. Now I’m sure that everybody has heard of the WWE. I’m sure when you were younger you use to watch it.Watching wrestlers like The Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Shawn Mi- chael doing their thing in the squared circle. But the question I’m going to ask you is. Is Pro-Wrestling a real sport? Well I’m going to tell you that it is a real sport. I can honestly say that wrestling is choreographed not FAKE choreographed. It’s like a physical theatre every time there are wres- tlers are in the ring they tell a story. Like David vs Goliath. Also, when a performer kicked in the gut, the man kicking pulls back a bit, but still kicks him, just where it doesn’t hurt that much. Also, the winner is determined before the match. This can be used to present a wrestler as an unstoppable force like when Goldberg went on his undefeat- ed streak in WCW or a recent one WWE women’s wrestler Asuka has the longest undefeat- ed streak in the company’s history. Also, pro wrestlers are on the road 300 plus days a year, so they rarely see their family and they probably sleep in their or a hotel room. Often in the gym to stay at peak condition because if you get gassed during a match you can’t take a break because it shows the fans and management that you can’t be trusted to hold a title or have a higher spot in the card. Here is John Cena workout routine and what he eats on a day to day bas- es from muscle and fitness magazine. John Cena has seven meals a day this is what he eats. His first meal Oatmeal with apple- sauce and raisins, 2 whole eggs and 6 egg whites. Second is a Protein bar. For his third meal he eats Brown rice with vegetables, and 2 chicken breasts. Number four is a whole wheat pita bread with tuna. Number five is Banana and a whey protein shake. His sixth meal is Pasta or brown rice, vegetables, salad with chicken or fish and the last meal is Low fat cottage cheese along with a casein protein shake. When he works out he does five day a week. On day one Legs and Calves, on the second day he does Chest. On day three he work on his arms. On day four he does his shoulders and on the final day he works on his back. Here are some of the sets and reps he does. Some people say what wrestlers put their bodies through in the ring is sometimes tantamount to getting into a car wreck. For example Darren Drozdov a former American football player and a former pro wres- tler who wrestled for the WWE from 1998-1999. He was supposed to take a routine power bomb but the wrestler preforming the move D-Lo Brown slip on a wet spot that was in the ring and it cause Drozdov to fall on his onto his head and fracture two discs in his neck. He is now paralysed but doesn’t hold any hostility towards D-lo Brown. Here is a picture of Droz before and after his career ending injury Here is a picture of the Japanese wreslter called Asuka who has the longest undefeated steak in WWE history and the longest NXT womens title regin with 510 days as champion the longest in the modern WWE.
