Measures of Central Tendency: Mean, Median and Mode
Mission statement
1. Mission Statement
I am going to design and create a school magazine aimed at Vyners Sixth form
who are interested in social events, school events and the prospect of going to
University. The name of my Magazine will be ‘our view’ this is because I feel it
subtly suggests to the reader that the magazine was written by the students of
the school and makes them feel as though they are involved as the word ‘our’ is
inclusive. I want the style of the magazine to be casual and convocation,
because although I want my magazine to informative and somewhat
educational, I also want it to be seen as entertaining and fun. As it is a school
magazine published by students the price of the magazine will be low, I will
charge 50p for each copy and they will be available to collect from Mrs
Sombrero in the study room. I feel the study room is a convenient place to
locate them as all sixth form students will spend some time in there over the
course of the day, this way they don’t have to go out of their way to buy one
may help sell more copies. The magazine will be released monthly, I feel this is a
good time span between each copy released as it gives the students producing
it enough time to write the next copy and its not long enough for people to
forget about it and not buy the next copy. I want to include uni top ten
countdowns for various categories, e.g costal unis, social life, city unis. Sixth
form fashion tips and teacher interviews are also something that I’m interested
in including.
TargetAudience Profile
As I previously said my target audience are sixth formers so they will be aged
between 16 and 18, I want to appeals to both genders because if I intentionally
aim my magazine at one I’m already halving the amount of copies I may be able
to sell. I want to market my magazine as a casual read, if someone is looking for
a serious, fully informative and academic magazine, this isn’t for them, Im trying
to appeal to the students that are interested in socialising as well as sixth form
work.
