Final Idea
My final idea is going to be creating my own girl
band. I feel that this is easy to have a target
audience for and can use it in many different ways
to appeal to my audience.
With the 3 ideas I am going to produce for my
project I am able to cover a lot of different things to
appeal to many different people from my target
audience and there is a product for everyone to
enjoy.
My girl band name is Olivia’s Angels I have chosen
this because it includes my name and the word
‘Angel’ gives a good example to the audiences and
tells them straight away that it is a girl band.
The first product I have decided to make it a CD cover for my band. I can use
this idea to help the audience see what the band is like by creating the cover
with things to represent the band. I will use bright colours on to the front
cover to suggest that the band it cheerful, fun and happy.
I will include a photo of the band on the front cover so that it is easy to see
who the band is straight away. I will also have the name of the band on the
front of the cover with a bold font that fits with the bands style. I will use
models for the CD cover, I will use friends or family as my models for my band.
The primary audience for my girl band is ages 13-30 as I feel they will enjoy the
project and be able to relate to the band as the singers in the band will be a
similar age helping the primary audience be interested. The secondary
audience is 30-45 as this age range will also enjoy the band and the things
that will be included in my product.
The software I will use for my project will be Photoshop as it includes all the
tools that I will need to complete my CD cover.
My next idea is a T-shirt design, I will also use Photoshop as the
software for this product as it has all the tools I need.
A T-shirt will appeal to my target audience as it helps the audience get
involved with the band. The merchandise will include things that link
with the band e.g. Bright colours, so you can get an idea on the theme
and mood of the band.
I will do the T-shirts in a few different colours to suit all of my
audience
The colours I will use are Black, White, Grey, Pink and Blue
The T-shirt will include the band name and a photo of the band.
My final idea is a magazine article for my band. With my
target audience age 13-30 this will appeal to them as
they will still read magazines and be interested in them
because my primary gender for the project is female this
fits well as they enjoy looking at celebrity information. It
also helps to keep the audience involved with the band
by reading information about them.
I will do a double paged spread of the band including
photos and information about them and up coming
information to excite the audience.
The article will be suitable for all ages to read and will
use formal language so that it can fit my target audience.
The colours used on the article will be a colour that is
regularly used with the band to suit their theme and link
the colours with the audience also.
The fonts used on my magazine article will be bold and
easy to read as something to fancy or small may not fit
the audience and make it hard for them to read.
I will use Photoshop as the software for this product as it
is the easiest software for me to make it on.

Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated
colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
• The main colour seen throughout my mood board is the colour pink this helps to show
to the audience that it is a girl band as the colour pink symbolises female. I will use this
colour scheme throughout my products as it suits with the detail I will include on my
products and gives the girly theme I want to create.
• Repeated images are used on my product as all the girl groups on my mood board have
the same pose on all the photos I have chosen. This helps me get an idea on what
poses I could use and recreate for the photos I take for my band to make it look realistic
for the audience.
• I also used angel wings and halos throughout my mood board as this is the theme I
want to continue through all my products so looking at different styles and way I can
include them on my project will help when it comes to my final project.
• The album covers I have chosen also look all the same suggesting it is a popular style
for my project. The layout of the CD covers are the same I would like mine to turn out
as they look effective and you are able to see straight away what the product is.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• I am able to see how girl bands are be presented and ways I can show they are a band
easily. This will help develop my products as I will be able to present my band in a
similar way to make it look realistic.
• It also helps gives me ideas for my products by seeing a range of different ideas used by
different bands to help develop details and themes I could include on my products.

6. Current Idea
Concept I am going to make a girl band with 3 different ideas that link with the band to interest my
audience in more than one way. I am going to use friends or family as models for my
band. I will take the photos with a plain background so that the main focus is on the girls.
They will wear outfits that contrast with the background colour to make them stand out.

with and have all the tools I need to make my project.

Audience My primary age for my project is 13-30 as there is a variety of different products that will
appeal to this age range. My secondary age for my project is 30-40 as they will also enjoy
the products and will still enjoy their music.
My primary gender is female as the band is a girl band helping them to relate more to
them and be interested in them. The secondary gender is male as they can find interest in
a girl band and be interested in the products made for them.
The psychographics for my product is Balanced as it is a mixture of 2 others helping it to
cover a range of different types of people
My primary social grade is middle class as I feel they will enjoy the project the most as be
interested with the products I have made for my band. The secondary social grade is
working class as they will find my products exciting and interest them with the range of
products I have created.

Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing this project
Game • I did not choose this project because I chose a Girl band as my final idea
so a game would not fit with this idea. I wanted a product that would
make you see straight away that my project was a band and a game
would not be able to do this.
• I do not have the right software for this project at home so it will take
longer to complete as I can not do any of it at home.
Photography Portfolio • My project was about a band so doing a Photography portfolio would
not appeal to my target audience and would not fit with the theme of
the band.
• I do not have an immediate location or transport so it would take time
and money for this idea to happen.
• I would not have enough equipment to be able to complete the project
to the best of my ability which would cost more money for correct
equipment.
